Prayer for Business Leaders

Prayer for Business Leaders

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 95, Deuteronomy 8

Reflections of the Heart:

Godly business leaders should be mindful of the seven things the Lord detests: haughty eyes, lying tongues, hands that kill the innocent, hearts that plot evil, feet that race to do wrong, false witnesses who pour out lies and persons who sow discord among brothers. God needs business leaders who will incorporate His principles in their business practices.  As our business leaders walk in godly integrity, their businesses will grow and our communities will reap the benefits.

Scriptural Prayer:

Father, to You do we sing a new song.  Your praises will be sung from the ends of the earth.  Your praises will be shouted from the mountaintops!  Let the whole world glorify You, Lord.  We bless You because You are the Lord, our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior. Lord, You always keep Your promises and You are gracious in all that You do.  You help those who have fallen and lift those who are bent beneath their loads.  Thank You for blessing the business community in our city throughout the years.  Thank You, Father, for opening doors of opportunity that have produced profit and employment.  Thank You for increasing economic development in our city.

Father, we declare that Your Word will be operative in the lives of our business leaders and in the economic development of our city.  Father, we declare that our business leaders are blessed and we expect favor to surround them like a shield.  We confess that as our leaders commit their works to You, their plans will be established.  We declare that they will honor You with their possessions and with the first fruits of all their increase so that their barns will be filled and their vats will overflow with new wine.  We declare that whatever they do, they will do it heartily, as to You and not to men.  Lord, we confess that as our business leaders walk uprightly, no good thing will be withheld from them.  Father, we expect You to look favorably upon the economic development in our city and bless our city to be fruitful.

Father, we ask that Your Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power rest on each business leader, investor, and entrepreneur.  Fill them with the knowledge of Your will and give them a thirst for Your Word so that they can incorporate Your principles into their business practices.  Help them to make righteous decisions and operate with justice and integrity.  Give them dreams and visions that exceed their expectations and provide them with the resources they need to successfully accomplish Your purpose(s) for their businesses.  Father, encourage potential business leaders and entrepreneurs to write down Your vision for their businesses and make it plain in a business plan so that they and their investors can implement it.  We ask You to reveal new revenue streams within the business community.  Lord, please continue to bless the marketplace in our city so that it will reflect Your glory and benefit the people living in it.  Lord, show me what I can do to help improve the economy of our city.

Father, forgive our business leaders for all acts of sinfulness.  Forgive those who have not been diligent in seeking Your leadership for their business.  Forgive those who do not trust in You but lean to their own understanding.  Forgive those who have compromised Your Word in order to make a profit.  Forgive those who have not treated their employees and customers fairly.  Forgive those who have not been faithful in giving through tithes and offerings.  Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect for the community they live in.  Forgive me for not supporting those businesses You have established in my community.  Remind the entrepreneurs and business owners in our city to be forgiving; and help them to forgive.

Lead them not into temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You sit above the circle of the earth.  The people below seem like grasshoppers to You. You spread out the heavens like a curtain and made Your tents from them.  You judge the great people of the world and bring them all to nothing.  You are the I AM that I AM.   In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
