A Prayer for U.S. Military Personnel and Allies
Psalm 89:11-18, Psalm 91
Reflections of the Heart::
Our U.S. military personnel and allies have been fighting courageously for our freedom. The least we can do for them is to pray! Let us remember the sacrifices of our military personnel and allies in our daily prayers.
Heavenly Father, we praise and honor Your Name. Your Name is the Lord and we rejoice before You. Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, who lives forever from everlasting to everlasting. What a variety of things You have made. In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. Lord, we thank You for our U.S. military personnel and allies. We thank You for protecting our armed forces throughout history. Thank You for exposing evil plots to destroy the United States. We thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty power in the world. Lord, You are a faithful, loving and compassionate God and we bless You.
Father, do not be silent, deaf or quiet. Don’t You hear the tumult of Your enemies and see what they are doing? They have devised crafty schemes and plans against Your people; they conspire against Your precious ones. Father, the enemy says, “Come let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.” Lord, this is their unanimous decision. They have signed a treaty as allies against You. Father, as a nation we are trusting in You and we are looking to You to deliver our military personnel and our allies from evil. We are depending on You to rescue them from evil people and preserve them from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts and stir up trouble all day long. Their tongues sting like a snake; venom as a viper drips from their lips. Lord, by the authority You have given to us, we command peace to be still in the earth. By faith, we are expecting peaceful resolutions throughout the world. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.
List the name of a U. S. military person who has served or is presently serving our country. Call or send a note to thank him or her today:
Father, Lord of Heaven’s armies, we ask You to deal with our nation’s enemies, both inside and outside of our borders. Holy Spirit, expose every plot before any destruction occurs. Touch the hearts of our allies to stand strong with our nation. Increase the courage and strength of our servicemen and women as they continue to fight courageously in battle. Father, we ask You to protect them and their families. Please protect innocent citizens during this time. Let Your favor surround our nation like a shield. Give our President, his administration, leaders of the U.S. Armed Forces and our allies increased wisdom and discernment. Holy Spirit, we ask You to intervene and confuse the enemy. Please clear the way so that the Gospel is preached throughout the world. Father, as Your Gospel goes forth, touch the hearts of the unsaved to receive it. Lord, we ask You to continue to provide basic needs for our military personnel, allies and their families.
Father, please forgive our military personnel and allies for their sins. Forgive them for lying, cheating, stealing, slander, strife, malice, envy, jealousy, selfishness, disobedience, and rebellion and any abuses of war. Forgive our nation for hypocrisy, slander, greed, racism, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, injustice, elitism, hatred, and violence. Forgive the media for misrepresenting the truth. Forgive us for not praying for local, national, and world leaders, especially President Bush and his administration. Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of our military personnel and allies to forgive others; and help them to forgive.
Lead all our military personnel and allies not into temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.
Lord, You are King. You sit on Your throne between the cherubim; let the whole earth quake. You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, supreme above all the nations. Your Name is so great and awesome. You are Holy. Yours is the kingdom, the power and glory, forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
