Scriptural Prayer:

Exalted Father, thank You for Your great love and joy that continues from generation to generation!  Thank You, Father, for blessing those who seek You, who have made You their joy, hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born. Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken.  Lord, Your works are wonderful. You are our help and shield.  In You, our hearts rejoice because we trust in Your Holy Name. Let Your unfailing love continue to surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.  You are an awesome God!

Wonderful Father, we declare that as we keep Your commands and abide in Your love, Your joy will remain in us and our joy will overflow.  We know that the joy of the Lord is our strength, so we decree that we will not allow the cares of this life to cause us to stray from You, Your Word or our faith in Your promises.  We will maintain our Godly joy on a daily basis because greater is the Holy Spirit in us than any spirit that lives in the world. Today, we confess that we will count it all joy when we fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience.  We will let patience have its perfect work in us so we may be complete, lacking nothing. Lord, we decree that instead of shame and dishonor; we will enjoy a double share of honor.  We boldly declare that in this land we will possess a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy will be ours.

Holy Spirit, I have joy because:

Holy Spirit, please instruct us in our relationships, ministries, careers, and finances.  Remind us daily of the Word which tells us that a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Holy Spirit, please help each of us to develop a joyful disposition.  Help us to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ with gladness. May the joy that we have become contagious throughout our communities and world.

Faithful Father, as kings of the King, and lords of the Lord, we declare that we belong to Christ Jesus.  We are a new joyful people − our old lives are gone and a new life is before us!  Accordingly, we choose not to copy the behavior and customs of this world, but we are transforming into new people every day by changing the ways we think and act.  When we reflect Your love and joy, then it can be mirrored back to us. Lord, help us to fully embrace love with a grateful heart and live a joyful life. Continue to help us to grow our faith so strong that each challenge will be met with a smile and a heart bursting with joy.

Loving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including strife, discord, jealousy, rivalries, gossip and any abusive relationships.  Forgive us for when we have allowed the cares of this world to rob us of our joy. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Magnificent Lord, may all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness in You.  May those who love Your salvation repeatedly shout, “God is great!” O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
