Prayer Leader: Jacquetta Smith
The Pandemic, racial unrest, domestic violence and more. In the natural it looks bleak. Warriors we must stay strong in prayer.
Psalms 115:16 tells us that the heavens are the Lords BUT the earth He has given to the children of men.
Our nation is filled with hopeless people. It’s filled with confused people. It does not matter if people are poor or affluent. It does not matter what race or culture they are in; many people have lost hope and have quit trying. So many are filled with despair and do not believe things can return to order.
It is ONLY us, the believer, who knows and trust our Father and we can have hope for the future. That is why we are called the “HEIRS”. We are the ones who know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our Father is utterly reliable, and we can count on Him. He has more gifts to give us. He has more words to speak to us. He wants us to be ready for the future and it is a future full of hope that will give us good and not evil. Amen!
The depth of this pandemic caught many of us by surprise, but it did not catch The Lord by surprise.
Matthew chapter 24:3-11
The Bible tells us in verse10 of that chapter that many people will be offended and betray one another and will hate one another. Don’t we see that today! There have been so many hateful things said. It’s like a spirit of evil has been unleashed in the earth over the past several years. There is even talk about a civil war to take place in our America the Beautiful.
Verse 12 says, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” You know what lawlessness is; the Police Shootings and senseless killings like George Floyd, Breona Taylor, Amad Aubrey, the Young Violin Player, Elishia McClain.
And then The Lord tells us in verse 13 BUT. Anytime you see BUT, it means, let me tell you something better to focus on. Here is the silver lining, so listen to this; it says, BUT he who endures to the end, shall be saved.
Saved here does not mean, salvation, it means soteria; a Greek word that means safety, deliverance and preservation from harm. It means completeness; nothing missing, and nothing broken.
This is why we must endure and prepare now for life AFTER the pandemic, because this too shall pass and we will be preserved.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 21:31 to “prepare for battle and know that safety is of The Lord.” So, we are equipping or preparing ourselves through Prayer and yes, we know that we win always.
In order to win during this time and be fortified and well equipped after the pandemic, we must have THREE weapons sharpened:
PRAYER
FAITH WISDOM
David reflects our situation so well in Psalm 27:13. It says, “I would have lost heart, had I not believed that I would see the goodness of The Lord in the land of the living. Wait on The Lord; Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait I say on The Lord.”
I am going to pray also that those who do not have their prayer language that they will receive it and those who pray in the Spirit to increase your language and will use it every day. When we pray in the spirit the devil does not know what we are saying. The Bible says in I Corinthians 14,when we pray in the Spirit, we are praying the perfect will of God for ANY situation. The Bible says in Jude, when we pray in the Spirit, we are building ourselves up in our most Holy Faith, so let’s get built up tonight.
The Bible says that we walk by Faith; not by sight. I don’t care what it looks like, I am going to trust the Lord.
This pandemic, racial unrest along with the economy will be a test of our faith.
Galatians 6:9 says, “You will reap if you don’t give up.”
Hebrews 10:35 says, “Therefore do not cast away your confidence which has great reward. For you have need of endurance so that AFTER you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise…”
I John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. It says, “for he who comes to God MUST believe that He is God and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him”.
The Bible says in Psalm 18:30, “As for God, His way is perfect, the Word of The Lord is Proven; Yahweh is a shield to all who TRUST Him. Trust, that is FAITH. So when we operate in faith, we are shielded from the enemy.
It goes on to say, “For who is Adoni, except The Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? It is El Shaddai, who arms us with strength (when we use our weapons) and makes our way perfect. Praise God!
We all have FAITH. The moment we were born again, our spirit became alive to the things of God and at that moment God deposited faith into our hearts.
Romans 12:3 says, “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of FAITH.
God gave us faith, but it is our responsibility to develop or increase the measure that we have. So how do we increase our FAITH?
Romans 10:17 says, “So then FAITH comes by hearing and hearing and hearing the Word of God. To increase my faith, I must increase my intake of the Word of God.
The Bible says in I John 5:14-15, “And this is the confidence that we have in Him that if we ask ANYTHING according to His will, He hears us and if we know that He hears us, WHATSOEVER we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have desired of Him.”
Faith starts where the will of God is known, and His will is in His Word.
The Lord said that we need to teach our children and other family members to use faith during this time of pandemic and racial unrest.
II Timothy 1:5-7, Paul said to Timothy, “When I call to remembrance the genuine FAITH that is in you, Timothy, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and I am persuaded faith is in you also. Therefore, I remind you to STIR UP the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands for God has not given us a Spirit of Fear but of Power and of Love and a Sound Mind!
So, let us pray for each other and STIR UP the gifts that God has given us!
Our last and final weapon for tonight is the weapon of WISDOM.
You know many of us on the line tonight can think of countless things in our lives that we should have done differently.
The Bible says in Proverbs 4:7 that WISDOM is the Principle thing.
Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, “If the Ax (or your weapon) is dull and you do not sharpen the edge, then you will have to work harder to use more strength, but WISDOM will direct us and bring success.”
Ecclesiastes 9:16 says, “Wisdom is BETTER than strength.”
Ephesians 5:15 says “We should walk in wisdom and not like a fool. It says do not be unwise but understand or get understanding what the WILL of the Lord is for the situation.”
We will have to be equipped through the Word and dedicated to the Word so that we will know how to minister to every man. That what it says in Colossians 4:6, “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer everyone.”
