Prayer Against Hurricane Zeta

Dear Believer,

The current forecast has Hurricane Zeta making landfall overnight Wednesday between Southeast Louisiana, in Mississippi, Alabama or the Florida panhandle. Stand in your front or backyard, extend your hand in the direction of the Gulf of Mexico and speak to Hurricane Zeta. In Mark 4:35-39, Jesus Christ spoke to the weather and commanded it to be calm. So, as believers, we are following His example. Pray with the authority that has been given to you in Jesus Christ and pray in faith. Please pray this prayer out loud and with fervency and determination. God has placed His power in our verbal expressions, so lift up your voice. Believe that your prayers will produce results in Jesus’ Name.

Continue to pray this prayer 1-2 times per day. Thank you, in advance, for standing on the wall for our region.

Prayer Against Hurricane Zeta

Triumphant Father, thank You for hearing our prayers concerning Hurricane Zeta. Thank You for reducing the power of this storm through Your Word and protecting the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Gulf Coast region. Lord, Your glory is higher than the heavens. You are great and Your power is absolute! Your understanding is beyond comprehension. Lord, Most High, You are awesome. You are the King of all the earth.

Eternal Father, using the authority given to us in the Name of Jesus, we speak to Hurricane Zeta and command peace, be still! We command the winds to dissipate and the barometric pressure to rise and normalize. In Jesus Name, we further declare that the upper level wind shear will increase to disrupt and destabilize the storm. By faith, as the people of God, we declare that Hurricane Zeta will not bring excessive flooding, electrical outages, harm or devastation to the Gulf Coast region. We confess that the rain that comes from this disturbance will not overwhelm our region.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to touch the hearts of every believer to pray against this storm system and calm the fears of those who are in its pathway. Holy Spirit, we pray that You will bless the companies that provide critical supplies for residents and business in the Gulf Coast Region. We ask that You ensure adequate supplies of food, water, batteries, building materials, and personal protective equipment as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. Further, we ask You to give Your wisdom to government officials and frontline workers who will lead storm response efforts. Father, Your Word helped with weather disturbances in the past, please cause it to help with Hurricane Zeta, as we speak peace to this storm.

Merciful Father, please forgive our citizens for all acts of sinfulness. Please forgive disobedience, rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, immorality, and the rejection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Father, have mercy on this region of our country and help us to forgive others.

Holy Spirit, help us all to overcome temptations and deliver us all from any impending destruction. We ask You to destroy every satanic assignment against our region.

Lord, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Hurricane Laura Recovery Efforts for Lake Charles, Louisiana and other Impacted Areas

A Prayer for Hurricane Laura Recovery Efforts for Lake Charles, Louisiana and other Impacted Areas

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 23, Psalm 31:21-24, Psalm 139:17-18

Reflections of the Heart:

During hard times, God promises to help us.  If we call upon Him and acknowledge Him as our God, He promises to rescue us and give us long life.  Today, choose God and trust Him to help everyone impacted during this recovery time.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, there is none like You.  What mighty praise belongs to You in Zion.  You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds.  You are the hope of everyone on earth and those who sail on distant seas.  You formed the mountains by Your power and armed Yourself with mighty strength.  You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations.  Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your wonders.  From where the sun rises to where it sets, You inspire shouts of joy.  Thank You for protecting Lake Charles, Louisiana, East Texas and surrounding areas from total devastation and destruction from Hurricane Laura.  Thank You for watching over the residents who remained in their homes as Laura’s winds violently blew through that region.  Holy Spirit, thank You for pouring out Your spirit of love, compassion, benevolence and generosity.  Because of You, the basic needs of impacted citizens will be provided, even while there are electricity outages and the city water plant which is out of service.  Thank You for moving people everywhere to show compassion and help so many who do not have food, clothing or shelter.  We are sincerely grateful.  Thank You for supplying all of their needs from Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Gracious Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in Lake Charles and other impacted areas.  Your Word says death and life are in the power of the tongue; so, we boldly choose life and call for new beginnings, increase and abundance for the impacted communities, now!  We call the blessings of God to rest upon the business, economic, educational, political, judicial, technological, social, and health systems in Lake Charles and the other communities that are now assessing damage and preparing to rebuild homes, businesses and critical infrastructure.  Jesus, we declare that Lake Charles, East Texas and the surrounding communities are strong, stable and vibrant.  We command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within every governmental agency and insurance company that is responsible for helping Louisiana and Texas citizens, and communities to recover.  We rebuke every demonic power that influences the recovery process, especially the spirits of delay and greed.  Peace, be still! We command the necessary funds for rebuilding to come forth!  We declare that our hope and confidence are not in FEMA or the insurance industry, but our hope and trust are in You, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Do you know someone starting to recover from Hurricane Laura?  Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you can be a blessing to that person or family:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please help those who are starting to recover from Laura.  Many people are trying to rebuild their lives.  Convict the heart of any business, agency or individual who would attempt to take advantage of people for profit or gain.  We know that the hearts of kings and rulers are in Your hand, Father, so we ask that You would turn the hearts of the insurance companies favorably towards those who are waiting for insurance payments.  We ask that You would create an urgency within the insurance industry to process insurance claims, so the people can get their lives back on track.  We cry out for Lake Charles, Cameron, LA, East Texas and other impacted communities as they put their lives back together.  Father, please help them.  Holy Spirit, lead and guide government officials in these cities as they plan the revitalization of their respective cities.  Remind them to remember the poor as they plan.  Please comfort and encourage those children whose lives have been greatly disrupted by the storm.  Calm their fears and help them to sleep soundly at night.  Help them to remain focused and diligent in their schoolwork. Please help residents, rebuilding teams and volunteers to follow CDC guidelines as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. We pray Your hedge of protection for everyone in the region.

Father, forgive the residents of Lake Charles, East Texas and surrounding communities for their many sins.  Forgive them for idolatry, murder, injustice, and sexual sin.  Forgive them for not looking after the widows and orphans and for oppressing the poor and disadvantaged.  Forgive them for greed, corruption and for putting the pursuit of material possessions above the needs of their neighbors.  Forgive us all for murmuring and complaining instead of praying and helping.  Forgive the Body of Christ for not worshipping You wholeheartedly.  Holy Spirit, show all of us who we need to forgive; and help us to be quick to forgive.

Lord, lead Lake Charles and, East Texas area residents not into temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You are King!  Let the nations tremble!  Lord, You sit on Your throne between the cherubim.   Let the whole earth quake!  Lord, You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, supreme above all the nations.  Let them praise Your great and awesome Name.  Your Name is holy!   In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for the Wildfires in California

Dear Believer,

In Mark 4:35-39, Jesus Christ spoke to the weather and commanded it to be calm. So, as believers, we are following His example. Stand in your front yard or backyard, extend your hand in the direction of the California wildfires, and pray with the authority that has been given to you in Jesus Christ. Please pray this prayer out loud and in faith with fervency and determination. God has placed His power in our verbal expressions, so lift up your voice. Believe that your prayers will produce results in Jesus’ Name.

Continue to pray this prayer daily until the wildfires have ceased. Thank you, in advance, for standing on the wall for California.

A Prayer for the Wildfires in California

Almighty Father, we thank You for Your everlasting love, grace, and mercy. Thank You for hearing our prayers and drawing near to us when we call. Thank You for giving us, Your children, the power to speak Your Word and expect Your provision and protection. Lord, You are strong! You are the prevailing strength; the conquering God who is of superlative degree! Every force is subject to You, including nature. May the nations praise You, Lord. Then, the earth will yield its harvest and You will richly bless us and people all over the world will fear You.

Using the authority given to us by Jesus Christ, we speak to the atmosphere and command a low-pressure system to move into California and bring cooler temperatures and rain. Father, we declare that cloud-to-ground lightning strikes will not ignite any new fires or create any dangerous and unpredictable fire behavior on the current wildfires. We command the wildfires burning across the State to cease. We speak to the winds that are fueling the flames and command them to abate, now! In Jesus’ Name, peace, be still in the atmosphere!

Merciful Father, please have mercy on the Northern and Central California regions, where emergency personnel are battling the dangerous, spreading wildfires. Holy Spirit, provide Your wisdom and guidance to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection leaders, area fire chiefs, state, county and community officials. Protect and strengthen every firefighter, emergency responder and volunteer. Touch the hearts of leaders across the U.S., and in other nations, to help California respond to this major emergency. Please protect residents, livestock, wildlife and businesses that are in harm’s way. Comfort those who have lost loved ones or their homes. Loving Father, we pray that You will bless the companies that provide critical supplies for residents and businesess in the hardest hit regions. We ask that You ensure adequate supplies of food, water, and personal protective equipment as the pandemic continues. Touch the hearts of Your people in the Body of Christ to help those who are most vulnerable, especially the poor, homeless, children and elderly. Remind us all to continue to pray until the wildfires are extinguished.

Righteous Father, forgive the citizens of California, for all acts of sinfulness. Please forgive disobedience, rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, and the rejection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We realize that there are those who do not live in awe of You. For it is You who gives us rain each spring and fall, assuring us of a harvest when the time is right. God have mercy on all in California.

Holy Spirit, help the residents of California not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are the blessed and only Sovereign One. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords who rides across the ancient heavens. O God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary. You are the God of Israel who gives strength and power to Your people. Blessed are You, forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer Concerning Natural Disasters

Scripture Reading:II Samuel 22:1-4, 47, I Kings 8:35-40

Abba Father, we thank You, Lord God, for You are our rock, our fortress, and our Savior; You are our Rock, in whom we find protection. You are our shield, the power that saves us, and our place of safety. Thank You, Abba Father, for the plans You have for us. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for protecting all nations during times of natural disasters. Thank You for helping Your children recover fully. We sing praises to You and to Your Name! We sing loud praises to You who ride the clouds. Your Name is the Lord, and we rejoice in Your presence! Lord, You are a Father to the fatherless, defender of widows – You are God, whose dwelling is holy. Your faithful love never ends! Your mercies never cease. Great is Your faithfulness; Your mercies begin afresh each morning.

Omnipresent Father, when hurricanes, floods, fires, earthquakes, or any other natural disasters strike, we confess that we will stand steadfast in faith and declare Your Word. Most High, we declare that You are our refuge and our shelter. No evil will conquer us; no plague will come near our homes. Your Word states that You command Your angels to protect us wherever we go. Therefore, we expect them to hold us up with their hands, so we won’t even hurt our feet on a stone. We expect Your Word to protect us when we are threatened by these dangers. Lord, we are led by You to a place of safety; we are rescued because You delight in us. Therefore, welive in the shelter of You, the Most High, and we find rest in Your shadow, Almighty God!

Holy Spirit, I will use wisdom to prepare in the following ways for natural disasters: _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, increase the preparedness mindsets among all residents so that we are equipped in advance for potential natural disasters. As citizens, cause us to heed the warnings and directions given by emergency response officials and help us not to panic. Shield our lives and properties from strong winds, floods, volcanic eruptions, lightning strikes, earthquakes, fires, and tsunamis. If our shelter becomes unsafe, grant us Your protection and give us Your wisdom to find safe evacuation routes, higher ground, and secure dwellings that will take us away from harm. During times of recovery, help us to effectively rebuild and assist others.

Forgiving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive us, for not always following Your principles or demonstrating Your love. Forgive us for devaluing each other through actions that are not Christ-like. Forgive those who take advantage during times of destruction from natural disasters by raising prices on materials, gas, water, and labor. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us to forgive other people. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

All thanks belong to You, Lord, the Almighty; the one who is and who always was. You have assumed Your great power and have begun to reign. Lord God Almighty, Your works are great and marvelous. Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear You, Lord, and glorify Your Name? For You alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before You; for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
