A Prayer for a Smooth and Peaceful Election Process

Scripture Reading:

I Chronicles 16:23-34, I Samuel 16:1-13

Reflections of the Heart:

God has always been concerned about who governs His people.  As we wrap up this election season, listen prayerfully to the candidates and ask the Holy Spirit to show you who you need to vote for.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our King, Lord and leader.  Thank You for the right to vote.  Thank You for the authority to expect change through prayer.  Thank You for giving us the wisdom, discernment and knowledge to pray for our nation’s elections.  We, Your servants, praise You.  We will hold up holy hands in prayer and praise You.  Yes, we will sing about Your ways, for Your glory is very great!  You care for the humble, but keep Your distance from the proud.  Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.  You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation.

Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the national, state and local elections.    Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity.  We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight.  We declare that the political election process will yield to Your plans.  Your Word tells us that if we love You, we must also love one another.  We declare that we are of one mind, united in thought and purpose.  We command peace to be still in and around every polling location.  We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every negative act sent to undermine the voting process. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. As for me, Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Father, we pray that the democratic process will be implemented fairly and justly throughout our city, state and nation on tomorrow. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as I exercise my vote:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, continue to draw the unsaved people in our nation to the Father, so that they will confess Jesus Christ and receive Him as their Savior and Lord.  Unify our nation and help us all to stand together for justice and righteousness.  We ask that Your Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power rest upon each person responsible for the accurate execution of the election process.  Help them to make righteous decisions and operate with honesty and integrity.  Confuse the thoughts and messages of masterminds who are behind the evil works against these elections.  Touch the hearts of all persons to report evil doers to the authorities.  Father, we know that nothing is too difficult for You.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting.  All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You.  All of Your acts are just and true.  You alone have held the oceans in Your hand.  You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth.  The Lord God Almighty is Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Peace in Jerusalem

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 24, Jeremiah 33:6-11

Reflections of the Heart:

O, Uru-sa-lim – Jerusalem – you are a city founded to possess God’s peace; you are one of the ironies of the whole world. Your long history has experienced so little peace as principalities and powers in the world have shed rivers of blood to possess you, in spite of the heavenly possibilities intended in your name.  We pray for you, Jerusalem.  We pray for peace in Jerusalem.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your Name.  Lord, You are great and mighty in power; Your understanding is infinite. We exalt You Lord, our God, and worship at Your holy hill. You are Holy. We give You thanks, O God. Your wondrous works decree that Your Name is near. Father, thank You for Jerusalem and for re-establishing the Nation of Israel. Thank You for remaining faithful and steadfast to the covenant You made with Abraham. Thank You for including us as children in Your covenant and for giving us a rich heritage. Lord, You are good. Your mercy endures forever. You are a faithful, loving and compassionate God.

Loving Father, in the Name of Jesus, we pray for peace to return to Jerusalem. We stand on Your Word that all who love this city shall prosper. We unite and decree that peace be within the walls of Jerusalem and prosperity in her palaces. For the sake of our families and friends, peace be unto you, Jerusalem. For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, we will seek what is best for you, Jerusalem. Father God, we, Your peacemakers, sow Your Word, in the Name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. The seeds of Your Word of peace will reap a harvest of righteousness and peace in Jerusalem and in Your Kingdom here on earth. Your Kingdom is of people who have right-standing before You and who embrace Your peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We are obedient to Your Word, Father, and know that You, Father, the God of Peace, crush satan under Your feet. Your grace and peace are with us, Your ambassadors of peace to the city of Jerusalem, through the knowledge of You, Father, and of our Lord Jesus Christ. We claim all spiritual prosperity, all necessary good, and freedom from fear, agitating passions and moral conflict for the envoys of Your good will and intentions for Jerusalem.

Father God, we pray Your shalom, Your peace – comprising Your health, prosperity, rest, safety and welfare – be administered to the people of Jerusalem. We covet that Your ambassadors from around the world will unite in prayer to You, to hear and obey Your voice to receive the blessing of Your peace plan for Jerusalem. Father, we lift up to You faithful American and world leaders who are still working to achieve peace in the Middle East. We pray that these leaders will act to influence the minds and spirits of Israeli leaders. We covet that the Holy Spirit be used to influence the decisions of the representatives of the Palestinian state. May Your will be done to bring peace to Jerusalem, Israel, Palestine, the wider Middle East, and the world as a whole. Holy Spirit, remind our Christian leaders that peacemakers who plant seeds of peace reap a harvest of righteousness in the development of God’s Kingdom here on earth.

What can you do in the crusade to bring peace to Jerusalem?

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lord God, forgive us in the body of Christ when we fail to be concerned about Your holy city, Jerusalem, and Your people, the Jews, both those who inhabit Israel and those of the Diaspora around the world. Forgive us when we are mindful only of the desire for peace in our country and not for peace in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world, for You love all the world and desire that all people come into Your Kingdom. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive; and we will be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, You alone are our God, the One who is able to do mighty miracles. As Your Name deserves, You are praised in Jerusalem and to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory! O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may Your name be praised forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Our Political Leaders (local, state, and national)

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 146, Ezekiel 33:1-9

Reflections of the Heart:

“Politicians all too often think about the next election. Statesmen think about the next generation.”

~ Linda Lingle, Former Governor of Hawaii

Scriptural Prayer:

Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth.  Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings.  We are grateful, and we bless Your Name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength.  The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.  We praise Your Name, Father, forever and ever.  You have all wisdom and power.  You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings.  You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light.

Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.  We pray for the President and all state, and national leaders.  We pray for our Mayor, our city council members and all other local leaders.  By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our political leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state and city.  The decisions made by our political leaders will be inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. We destroy the assignments of the devil and we silence the voice of every demonic force.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national political leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes.  Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry.  Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead. Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing and obedient to Your will.  Cause each of their lives to glorify Your Name.

Loving Father, please forgive our local, state and national leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You daily. Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, sexual sins, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently.  Forgive us, the body of Christ, for making our political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do not align their agendas with Yours.  Forgive those politicians who say they are Christians, but conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word.  Father, please have mercy on this nation.

Holy Spirit, help our government officials all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come.  You alone are God.  You are subject to none, yet all are subject to You.  Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer Concerning the 2020 Presidential Election

Scripture Reading:

Galatians 6:9; Psalm 37

Reflections of the Heart:

“Here’s the problem: while some folks are frustrated and tuned out and staying home on election day, trust me other folks are showing up. Democracy continues with or without you.”  ~Michelle Obama, Former First Lady

Every king in all the earth will thank You, Lord, for all of us will hear Your words. Yes, we will sing about Your ways, for Your glory is very great!  You are great.  You care for the humble, but keep Your distance from the proud.  Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.  You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation.

Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the upcoming presidential election.   Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity.  We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight.  In obedience to Your Word, we command the political election process to yield to God’s plans.  We confess and expect that the power of the Holy Spirit will guide the hearts of President Donald Trump and Former Vice President Joe Biden.  Peace, be still within the 2020 presidential campaign and election.  We command the Word of God, as it is spoken from the lips of believers, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy the effects of communications spoken by the candidates or the media that do not align with God’s will for our nation.  Holy Spirit, help voters not to judge the presidential candidates by their outward appearances or political parties, the way people often judge. Instead, help us see the candidates the way You see them, Lord, as you look at their respective hearts.  We decree that the democratic process will be implemented fairly and justly throughout our nation during this election process.

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as I research the candidates for President:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, trouble the hearts of President Trump and Former Vice President Biden about their commitment to our country’s welfare.  Increase Your spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, courage, might and knowledge within them.  We do not know what their level of commitment is to You, but we ask You to communicate with them on behalf of Your people.  Equip them with everything they need for doing Your will and produce in them, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to You.  Convict them, along with their staffs and volunteers, about the use of ungodly campaign tactics and political mudslinging.  Confuse the thoughts and messages of those who have disregard for Your Kingdom and let Your truth about all issues be exposed.  Father, dispatch Your angels to guard and protect the candidates’ families and destroy every assignment that the devil devises against them.  Father, we know that nothing is too difficult for You.

Everlasting Father, please have mercy upon us and forgive our nation for its many sins.  Forgive us for making “self” the center of our American culture.  Forgive the presidential candidates for their sins.  Forgive them for any times they mislead the American public and twist the truth.  Forgive them when they do not consult with You before making decisions or administering their authority and power.  Forgive them for denying Your sovereign rule as King and Savior.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not praying for our leaders consistently.  Forgive those American citizens who have not exercised the privilege to vote, yet complain about our country’s leadership.  As for me, Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, if there are any candidates who need to forgive anyone, please bring it to their remembrance and help them to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Redeeming Father, help our candidates not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting.  All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You.  All of Your acts are just and true.  You alone have held the oceans in Your hand.  You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth.  The Lord God Almighty is Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Declaration of Justice in the United States

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 118:1-9, Psalm 140

Reflections of the Heart:

“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being the just Judge. Thank You for hearing us when we call to You for help for our nation. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice and righteousness in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts. Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory to Your Name forever! Lord, You have rescued us from the depths of death. We will sing of Your unfailing love forever. Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within our judicial system in America. Your Word says that justice and righteousness are more acceptable to You than sacrifice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. We confess that justice and righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and communities. You are the Lord who loves all of humankind; You are no respecter of persons. Lord, You created us in Your image and it is Your desire that we, Your creation, love each other as we love ourselves. Lord, we believe that You will raise us above the injustices of racism that our nation has witnessed lately. And because Your Spirit dwells within us, the Body of Christ, we confess that we will walk in righteousness and integrity. We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay back evil with more evil, but we will always do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are honorable.

Holy Spirit, as I watch the news, show me how to pray specifically about the injustices in our nation:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please help our nation to heal from the wounds that the recent instances of injustice have inflicted on the American people. Remind the members of the Body of Christ to not sin by letting anger control them. Grant each of us the desire and commitment to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice or partiality. Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in Your Spirit and not in their flesh. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about this subject in a way that will not instill fear, anger, or hatred. Holy Spirit, I ask that You search my heart for areas of hidden discrimination or bias and remove it immediately from me.

Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive our nation for its injustice, prejudice, and oppression. Forgive our nation for loving power and things instead of people. Please forgive those persons who are presently practicing racism, sexism, and ageism. As the Body of Christ, we renounce the gods of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive me, Father, for not acknowledging that when I make blanket statements about race, sex, or age that I am discriminating. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Triumphant King, You are greater than any other god. You do whatever You please throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. You cause clouds to rise over the earth. You send lightning with the

rain and release the winds from Your storehouses. Your Name, Lord, endures forever, Your fame is known to every generation. Yours, Lord, is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Our Governmental Leaders (local, state, and national)

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 105:1-8, Psalm 1

Reflections of the Heart:

When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he was capable of accomplishing the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His perfect will here on earth through today’s political leaders. Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our political leaders will definitely benefit our city, state, and nation more than murmuring and complaining ever will. Pray for our local, state, and national political leaders so that we can live in peace.

Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. We pray for President Donald Trump, Governor Greg Abbott and all state, and national leaders. We pray for Mayor Sylvester Turner, our city council members and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our governmental leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state and city. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for making our political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do not align their agendas with Yours. A Prayer for Health Care in the United State

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 46, Psalm 27

Reflections of the Heart:

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for the blood of Jesus which covers us and protects us from  harm, including disease. Thank You for blessing our nation with the best medical care in the world. Thank You for being the Lord who heals! Lord, we will sing of Your unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. All of heaven will praise Your great wonders, myriads of angels will praise You for Your faithfulness. Who in all of heaven can compare with You, Lord? What mightiest angel is anything like You? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of You. You are far more awesome than all who surround Your throne!

Redeeming Father, we commit the American Health Care system to You and command justice to run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream for the American people. We thank  You for every health care professional and declare that they will seek Your wisdom and knowledge and always pursue excellence in their chosen fields. They will be dedicated to the proper care and treatment of their patients and they will remember to show their patients mercy, just as You have shown mercy to them. Lord, You detest the use of dishonest scales, but You delight in accurate weights. So we rebuke the spirits of greed and injustice within the  insurance industry that has prevented many Americans from being able to afford quality health coverage that will meet their family’s needs without bankrupting their budget. Your Word admonishes that everything should be done properly and in order so we command the American health care system to line up with Your Word now, in Jesus’ Name.

List your concerns about the American Health Care System. Now take those concerns to the Lord in prayer:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please give the uninsured the wisdom and direction as they navigate through the Affordable Care Act and help them to find coverage that will meet their budget. Show business owners new ways to generate increased revenue to cover the cost of offering health insurance to their employees. Lord, we ask that the wait times for appointments at the VA Hospital will be shortened and that each veteran will be treated with dignity and respect. Holy Spirit, we ask that You give our government officials the wisdom on how to cut down on the redtape that ensnares so many veterans from receiving all of the medical benefits they are entitled to. Lord, touch the hearts of the pharmaceutical companies so that they will make needed medications affordable to all Americans. Lord, we cry out for Your intervention and guidance in Jesus’ Name.

Loving Father, forgive us as a nation for our many sins. Lord, forgive us for creating a society that allows such a wide disparity between the ‘haves’ and the ‘have-nots.’ Forgive us for greed, arrogance, lack of empathy and compassion, and selfishness. Forgive us for not making a healthy lifestyle a priority.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us all from the evil one.

Glorious King, Your eternal Word stands firm in heaven. Your faithfulness extends to  every generation, as enduring as the earth You created. Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves Your plans. You are the mighty King, the lover of justice; You established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. We exalt You Lord, our God and bow low before Your feet for You are Holy! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Economic Development in Our Community

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 108, Genesis 41:47-57

Reflections of the Heart:

God believes in economic development. He wants a community to thrive and a nation to flourish. Psalm 33:12 States, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for providing for Your children, during these tough economic times. Thank You for being the source of our supply. We thank You for taking care of us and supplying all of our needs from Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Father, You created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. You give breath to everyone and life to everyone  who  walks  the  earth. We will praise Your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord. We will tell everyone that You alone are just. We praise You, Lord! Father God, we are joyful because we fear You, Lord, and delight in obeying Your commands. We are blessed to be Your children.

Heavenly Father, we expect business leaders in our community to honor Your Word and live by Your precepts. We command light to shine in the darkness for the Godly. We declare that they are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. During the current economic difficulties in our nation and around the world, we claim prosperity for our community. We decree  that the merchants in our community will not fear bad news; they confidently trust You, Lord, to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted. Lord, we expect You to pour down Your blessings upon our community. We decree that our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Father, we will support the businesses of the Godly men and women in our community.

Magnificent Father, touch the hearts of the people in our community to support the businesses. Help the business owners to establish fair and honest business practices so that the residents in our community will enjoy doing business with them. Show the owners and managers new and creative ways to increase their revenue without taking advantage of their customers. Convict the hearts of business owners in all communities who treat their employees and customers poorly. Holy Spirit, help the employees to be diligent, hard working individuals who will work as unto You instead of to man.

Make a list of businesses in your community and begin to support them.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, forgive the business owners in our community for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those  who have not been diligent in seeking Your leadership for their businesses. Forgive those who do not trust in You and Your business principles; but lean on their own understanding. Forgive those who have compromised Your Word in order to make a profit. Forgive those who have not treated their employees and customers fairly. Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect for the community they live in. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the business owners in our community of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help the business owners in our community not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary.  O God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your people. Sovereign Lord, You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are the eternal King. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer Concerning Iran

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 24, Psalm 27

Reflections of the Heart:

The Lord is our light and salvation, so why should we be afraid? The Lord is our fortress, protecting us from danger, so why should I tremble? ~Psalm 27:1 NLT

Scriptural Prayer:

Sovereign Father, we thank You for protecting our nation, the United States of America. Thank You for honoring our prayers as a nation and extending Your mercy toward us. Thank You for protecting our borders. Thank You for protecting us from the threats of Iran. Your Word is true, and we can trust everything that You do. You love whatever is just and good. Your unfailing love fills the earth.  You merely spoke,  and the  heavens were created; You breathed the Word, and all of the stars were born. You assigned boundaries to the seas and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear You and let everyone stand in awe of You! How great is the goodness that You have stored up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before the watching world.

Righteous Father, in the Name of Jesus, we rebuke the spirits of conflict and war. We command peace to be still between the United States and Iran, now! God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we declare that Your very Name keeps us safe from all harm. Father, we admit that we are a pluralistic society that confesses many gods, but there is a remnant in our nation who trusts only in You. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, their armies  and  weapons,  but  we  will  always  boast  in  the  Name  of  the  Lord,  our  God.  We  declare  that  President Donald Trump, Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani will find a diplomatic solution and will not react hastily with the actions of war, but they will respond out of wisdom. They will turn from evil and do good. They will search for peace and work to maintain it.

Holy Spirit, I pray specifically the following for President Donald Trump and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help the citizens of our nation and Iran to discern through the rhetoric and propaganda surrounding this situation so that the truth is revealed and every lie exposed. Holy Spirit, grant President Donald Trump and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Your supernatural wisdom and discernment. Help them to make decisions that  align  with  Your  will  to  keep  people  safe. Holy  Spirit, please reveal  and  expose  every  evil  plot, plan  and strategy that have been devised against our nation both internally and externally. Stir the hearts of Christians around the world to pray; please, do not stop until we all respond.

Merciful Father, please forgive the leaders and citizens of our nation and Iran for all acts of sinfulness including not acknowledging Your Son, Jesus, as Lord. Forgive our nation for the  innocent  blood  that  we  have  shed. Forgive the American Church for our ignorance concerning this conflict and for failing to pray consistently for this region.  Lord,  forgive  me  for (list  any  sins  that  you  have  committed). Holy  Spirit,  remind  the  citizens  of  our nation and Iran of those we need to forgive and help us all to forgive. Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord  to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the citizens of our nation and Iran not to yield to temptation but deliver us all from the evil one.

You are the Lord, our God, and there is no other.  No one is holy like You.  There is no one besides You. There is no Rock like You, our God. Lord, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. You rule and reign forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Repentance for the United States of America

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 117, Luke 24:35-49

Reflections of the Heart:
We are living in a time when many souls are depleted of strength in our nation. Corruption fills the land, and the earth is withholding its goodness from our citizens because of our greed and arrogance. Should we not consider our ways? The current spiritual climate in America demands that we each examine our motives, beliefs, and actions.

Scriptural Prayer:

Holy Father, we thank You for blessing the United States of America. Thank You for honoring our prayers as a nation and extending Your mercy toward us. You have blessed our nation beyond measure, but we have not always appreciated You or Your benefits. So today, we, Your children, come before You, humbling ourselves in Your sight to give You thanks and praise for all that You have done. Your Word is true and we can trust everything that You do. You love whatever is just and good. Your unfailing love fills the earth. You merely spoke and the heavens were created; You breathed the Word and all of the stars were born. You assigned boundaries to the seas and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear You and let everyone stand in awe of You!

Generous Father, as a Church Family, we submit ourselves to the discernment and judgment of the Holy Spirit and acknowledge that our nation has grieved Him with our blatant rebellion. We have traded truth for lies in pursuit of our own selfish agendas. Lord, Your Word warns us that our hearts are the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. We are utterly ashamed to lift up our faces to You. The sins of our nation are piled higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens. From the days of our ancestors until now, this country has been steeped in sin. Yet, You have protected the United States of America from both internal and external terror attacks. You have delivered us from economic ruin and collapse. You have protected us from unseen dangers. You have allowed our nation to remain as one of the most powerful forces in the world. You have not allowed our enemies to triumph over us. And now, O God, what can we say after all of this? Once again, the people of our country have abandoned Your commands. We now see the results of our wickedness and our great guilt. But, we have actually been punished far less than we deserve. So, as Your people, called by Your Name, we humble ourselves and pray today, seeking Your face, and turning from our own wicked ways. Only then can we be assured that You will hear from heaven and will forgive our sins and restore our land.

Holy Spirit, help me to pray regarding the sins of ______________ in our nation, today:

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, without Your power working in us, we cannot have lasting change. Thoroughly search the hearts and examine the secret motives of the American people. Stir within the people of our nation the desire to know the Father’s ways, not just His acts. Convict the hearts of Christians in our nation so that true repentance will prevail in every church called by the Name of Christ. Remind the people of God to think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Help us all to put to death any sinful, earthly things that lurk within us. Give us all the courage to face ourselves and to admit our sins to the Father and to one another. Strengthen us to let go of anything that blinds us to the truth and holds us captive to sin and deception. Rid America of corruption and raise up leaders who are wise and who understand God’s ways, evidenced by them living honorably before Him. Give us all discernment to identify and follow leaders who aren’t just saying what our itching ears want to hear, but who will stand for righteousness and declare Your truth; men and women who are actually doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.

Eternal Father, as a nation, we realize that our sins are abominable and a stink to Your nostrils. But, Forgiving Father, as Your children, we stand before You and ask for Your mercy. Forgive our nation for the sins of racism; sexism; ageism; the Supreme Court’s new decisions on same-sex marriage; as well as the Voting Rights Act; drug usage and addictions due to marijuana laws; increase of gambling; human trafficking; a lack of immigration reform; the random killing of African American men and boys; disparity between the haves and have nots; and the systematic breakdown of the nuclear family. Forgive our nation’s leaders for their bickering and infighting. Forgive us for speaking out on some sin and remaining silent about other sin. To You, we know that sin is sin and You expect us to rebuke all sin. Forgive Christians for standing before You with wicked hearts, perverted mouths, ungodly behavior, hatred toward authority, and unforgiveness. Father, we admit that we, Your church, operate in forms of godliness, but often deny the power of Your Holy Spirit. You desire a contrite heart. Holy Spirit, move throughout the American Church and trouble all of us until we repent as the Body of Christ. Purify us from our sins and we will be clean; wash us, and we will be whiter than snow. Create in us a clean heart O God, and renew a loyal spirit within us. Please do not banish us from Your presence and don’t take Your Holy Spirit from us. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed).

Holy Spirit, help every citizen of our nation not to yield to temptation but deliver us all from the evil one.

Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord God, the Almighty ― the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come. You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. We exalt You above all else. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
