A Prayer of Celebration for Our Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 145:1-13, Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Reflections of the Heart:

“You don’t choose your family.  They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.”            ~Desmond Tutu

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, our souls honor You. We thank You for thinking of us enough to give us dominion in the earth. Thank You for our family relationships. We thank You for singlehood, the institution of marriage and parenthood.  Lord, we thank You for fulfilling Your plans and purposes in our lives and for surrounding us with favor like a shield.  Thank You for blessing us continually with Your loving-kindness and tender mercies.  Your mercy endures forever. You are great, and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We love You and extol Your Holy Name.  Out of the mouths of babes and infants, You have ordained strength.  What are mere mortals that You should think of them, human beings that You should care for them?  Yet, You have made us only a little lower than Yourself and crowned us with glory and honor.  You are an awesome God!

Glorious Father, it is Your will that our families prosper and be in health as our souls prosper. We decree that our families live in peaceful habitations, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places.  Stability, salvation, love, wisdom and knowledge will abide in our home. Lord, we rebuke the spirits of argument, slander, strife, perversion, violence, offense, lies, rebellion, disobedience and cruelty in our families.  We break soul ties, strongholds and generational curses in our family bloodlines.  We confess that no weapon formed against our families will prosper.  We decree that everything the devil means for evil will be turned around by our God for the good of our families. We call for a spiritual renewal and restoration in our families.  Father, we will hold fast to the confession of our faith without wavering.  We confess that the love of God will reign supreme in our homes and the peace of God is an umpire in our family relationships. We decree that because our families seek Your Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, that You will continue to give us everything that we stand in need of.

Father, give me creative ways to unite my family relationships:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Royal Father, we ask that You give our family members one heart and put a new spirit within all of us.  Where there are strained relationships in our families, please turn hearts back to one another. Holy Spirit, please begin to heal the wounds that family secrets have inflicted on the souls and minds of some of our members.  Lead them to competent Christian counseling to help them process their pain. Give us Your wisdom.  Let discretion preserve us and understanding keep us from the way of evil. Please unite our families closer together.  Father, open the lines of communication in our homes so that there is a good rapport in our families.   Please keep our children and youth as the apples of Your eye and let Your favor surround them like a shield.  Let Your peace, love and understanding reside in our families.

Merciful Father, please forgive our families for sin. Forgive us for allowing our jobs to be a greater priority than our families.  Forgive us for taking our loved ones for granted.  Forgive us for not praying for our family members consistently.  Forgive us for strife, anger, envy, jealousy and for verbal or physical abuse within our homes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our families of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive and help me to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are King!  You are robed in majesty and armed with strength.  The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.  Your throne has stood from time immemorial.  You are from the everlasting past.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Incarcerated Youth and Adults

Scripture Reading:

Job 36:22-33, Luke 23:32-43

Reflections of the Heart:

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we thank You for being a God of grace and mercy. Thank You for protecting our friends, family members and loved ones who are incarcerated. Thank You for Your faithful love which endures forever. Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are our strength and our song; You have given us victory! You are our God and we will praise You. Lord, You are a warrior; Yahweh is Your Name. Your right hand is glorious in power and smashes the enemy. O Lord, who is like You among the gods? You are glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor and You perform great wonders.

Forgiving Father, we commit our incarcerated loved ones to You. We confess that as they trust in You and give You their lives that You will be with them and not allow them to be disgraced nor will You let their enemies rejoice in their defeat. We declare that You will show our incarcerated youth and adults the right path and point out the road for them to follow. We decree that they will be obedient and allow Your truth to lead and teach them. We confess that it is in You and You alone that they will put their hope. We declare a hedge of protection around our loved ones and that no weapon formed against them will prosper. We confess that they will not follow the advice of the wicked, nor stand around with sinners, neither will they join in with mockers. But, they will delight in Your Word, Father, and meditate on it day and night. They will make You, Lord, their refuge and their place of safety. They will be rescued from every trap that is laid before them and protected from deadly disease. They will not fear the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. They will lie down and sleep at night and wake up in safety because You are watching over them.

List the youth or adults that you know who are incarcerated and commit to praying for them this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please encourage those who have become discouraged. Remind them that the Father is forever with them, He will never leave nor abandon them. For those youth and adults who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, please send laborers to speak the Good News of the Gospel to them so that they will receive and confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Christ from the dead, so that they will be saved. For those who have been wrongfully imprisoned, we ask that You would bring truth and revelation to their cases and open doors for them to be released. Please strengthen their faith in the Father and draw them closer to Him. Please comfort, strengthen and encourage the family members, especially the child whose parent is incarcerated. Heal their hearts and mend any wound that the absence of this parent has created in their life. Please protect them from the evil words and comments that society may attempt to put upon them. Please destroy every generational cycle of incarceration within our families and community.

Faithful Father, we ask You to forgive the sins of those who are incarcerated. Forgive them for making wrong choices and bad decisions. Forgive them for trusting in their ways instead of Yours. Forgive those who hold anger, bitterness and resentment. Forgive our judicial system for wrongfully imprisoning the innocent. Forgive those of us who have judged them wrongfully. Forgive those of us who have helped them make poor choices by not teaching them Your ways. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our incarcerated youth and adults of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our incarcerated youth and adults not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty Lord, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth; Your right hand spread out the heavens above. When You call the stars, they all appear in order. You are holy, holy, holy, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies; the whole earth is filled with Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Our Fathers

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 134, Psalm 128

Reflections of the Heart:

As the Body of Christ, we declare that our fathers are loving and compassionate leaders in their homes. They are successful in their communities, professional lives and in the Body of Christ. We praise and thank God for them, daily!

Scriptural Prayer:

Triumphant Father, we thank You for the fathers in the Body of Christ. Thank You for reminding them daily that they are created in Your image. Thank You for crowning each of them with glory and honor. Thank You for helping them to take their rightful place as the head of their homes. We, Your servants, give praise to You, Lord. Your Name will be blessed now and forever! Everywhere from east to west, Your Name shall be praised. Lord, You are high above the nations; Your glory is higher than the heavens. No one can be compared with You! Not to us, O Lord, but all glory will go to Your Name for Your unfailing love and Your faithfulness.

Majestic Father, by faith, we declare that the fathers in the Body of Christ are saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. They are priestly providers and protectors of their families. We confess that our fathers will not copy the behavior and customs of this world; but they will allow You, Lord, to transform them into new men by changing the way they think. We decree that our fathers are the head and not the tail; they are always on top and never at the bottom. They are not victims of society; but they are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. Their children will honor them; for this is right in Your sight. We confess that our fathers will not provoke their children to anger by the way they treat them; but they will raise them with the discipline and instruction that comes from You, our Heavenly Father. Above all, we confess that our fathers have victorious futures because Your plans for them are of hope, filled with good and not evil. We decree that the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are evident in their lives. The light of Jesus is reflected in their actions. We confess that our fathers are mighty men of valor.

I will pray for the following fathers in the Body of Christ this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our fathers with the knowledge of Your Word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Please order their days so that their daily activities are balanced and fruitful. Make the crooked places in their lives straight and perfect those things that concern them. Help each father to not grieve Your Spirit. Teach them how to develop the individual spiritual gifts and talents of their children. Restore the broken or struggling relationships between fathers and children. Increase Your love in those father/child(ren) relationships that are doing well. Holy Spirit, comfort those who have experienced the death of their father and equip us as the Body of Christ to provide the support that they may need.

Faithful Father, forgive our fathers for sins of disobedience, selfishness, and lying. Forgive our wives and mothers for taking on the roles You have ordained for husbands and fathers. Forgive us as a society for focusing on the fathers who are not living up to their responsibilities while ignoring those who are taking care of their families. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our fathers of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our fathers not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Exalted Lord, we praise Your Name. Your Name is great; Your glory towers over the earth and heaven. You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory, honor and power. You created all things; by your will they exist and were created. You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Senior Adults

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 16:5-11, Titus 2:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:

Our elders have seen things we couldn’t even imagine and survived things we could never comprehend facing. They are filled with wisdom and experience that our society needs. Take some time to pray for the senior adults in your life. Let us not forget them.

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for our senior adults. Thank You for blessing each day of their lives. Thank You for blessing them with wisdom and knowledge. Loving Father, we praise Your Name because You are good. We celebrate Your lovely Name with music. We know Your greatness and that You, our Lord, are greater than any other god. Your Name, O Lord, endures forever; Your fame is known to every generation. You are righteous in everything that You do; You are filled with kindness.

Eternal Father, we confess that the older men in the Body of Christ exercise self-control, are worthy of respect and live wisely. They have strong faith and are filled with love and patience. We declare that our senior women are honorable and righteous. They teach others what is good and train the younger women in the Body of Christ to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to honor their husbands. We decree that our senior men are models of God’s strength and faithfulness and they teach our young men to respect authority, provide for their wives and children, live wisely, lead with love and fairness, and love their wives like Christ loves the church.

Holy Spirit, we know that some of our senior adults are lonely; please help us as a Church Family to reach out to them and surround them with the love of the Father. Remind their family members to visit them and spend quality time with them. Father, protect our seniors from those who would try to take advantage of them or hurt them. Remind us to always honor and respect our senior adults.

Write down the names of seniors that you know. Now, write down ways that you can enrich or bless their lives:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, forgive us as a nation for disrespecting our senior adults. Forgive those seniors who don’t depend completely upon You. Forgive those who have allowed life to cause them to grow bitter and angry. Forgive those who do not check on or spend time with their older relatives. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our seniors of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, remind our senior adults not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Righteous Lord, there is no one like You! You are great, and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone! All glory majesty, power and authority are Yours before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Peace for Our Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 121, Psalm 91

Reflections of the Heart:

There is no place like home! God desires for His children to dwell in peaceful and secure homes. So, let us continue to pray for the prosperity, protection and unity of the residents of our communities.

Scriptural Prayer:

Wonderful Father, we thank You for Your peace and protection for our families during the COVID-19 the pandemic. Thank You for provision that enables our families to love one another, raise children with a Godly foundation and be an example of unity within our communities. We thank You, Lord, for having plans for good and not disaster for us, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing us with Your perfect peace, as we keep our thoughts fixed on You. We come before You clapping our hands and shouting with joy unto You. Lord Most High, You are awesome! You subdue nations before us and put our enemies under our feet! Father, we thank You for choosing this promised land as an inheritance for our families. We sing praises to You, Lord, and declare that You are the King over all of the earth!

Almighty Father, You are the light and salvation of our families, so we are not afraid. You are our fortress, protecting us from danger so we do not tremble. By faith, we declare that our families live peacefully and safely in our workplaces and homes and that our homes are places of rest. No evil will conquer our families and no harm will come near us because the Lord have ordered His angels to protect us wherever we go. Lord, we expect that You will always put a wall of protection around each of us, our homes and properties, and You will allow us to prosper in everything we do. In the authority given to us by Jesus Christ, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of fear, intimidation, theft, vandalism, death, destruction, discord and perversion from our families, our homes and workplaces. We plead the blood of Jesus over our families and decree that we are vibrant, prosperous and blessed!

I confess the following promises of God upon (list the name of a family member):

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to always remember that the greatest resource of peace and protection is the Lord God Almighty. Incline our hearts to seek Him first and search His Word for wisdom, comfort, refuge and direction. Give us the strength and courage to stand when social media, television, movies, peers and Internet influences, do not represent the Godly values set forth in our homes. Keep us from all temptations including the urge to love this world more than the Lord God or mistreat our parents, siblings and extended family members. Holy Spirit, impress upon our families the importance of finding the right balance between our work and personal lives.

Forgiving Father, forgive our families for all acts of sinfulness, including jealousy, rivalries, dishonesty, injustice, hatred, oppression, greed, idolatry, pride, slander, sexual immorality, selfish ambition, and abuse of any type. Forgive those who choose not to trust in You for all things in all ways. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Declaration of Holiness for Our Youth

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 25:8-10, Romans 1:18-32

Reflections of the Heart:

Adolescence is a difficult but critical time in a child’s life. During these years, young people begin to explore and experiment with different things and people as they try to learn who they are. Let’s pray that our youth will allow the Word of God to sculpt and mold them.

Scriptural Prayer:

Blessed Father, we thank You for our youth. Thank You for having a plan for their lives that is good and not evil, so that they will each have a future and a hope. Thank You for filling each of them with Your precious Holy Spirit to instruct, correct and teach them how to live uprightly before You. Lord, we promise to obey Your words! With all of our hearts, we want Your blessings. Be merciful as You promised. We will ponder the direction of our lives and turn to follow Your laws. We will hurry, without delay, to obey Your commands. Lord, we are friends with anyone who fears You, anyone who obeys Your commandments. Your unfailing love, O Lord, fills the earth; teach us Your decrees.

Sovereign King, we confess that our youth will truly understand that their bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. They will give their bodies to You and will be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind You will find acceptable, for this is truly the way to worship You. They will not copy the illicit behavior and customs of this world, but they will let You, Father, transform them into new people by changing the way they think. Our youth will learn and grow in Your Word. They will know Your will for them, which is good and pleasing and perfect. We decree that they will know You and all of Your fullness. They will worship You and be thankful. Our youth will not do vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They will not trade the truth about You for a lie. They will not worship the things You have created, instead of You, the Creator, and they will not be abandoned to shameful desires. In Jesus’ Name, we declare that our daughters will not lust for other girls and our sons will not burn with lust for other boys. Matter of fact, our sons and daughters will not have sex until they marry. We cancel every generational curse of perversion. We decree that our youth will not partake in pornography, fornication, homosexuality, bestiality, or any other sexual perversion. We confess that they will unashamedly run from sexual sin.

I commit to praying for the following youth this month:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, our Deliverer, some of our youth are ensnared by the sexual perversions of this world. Please remove the scales from their eyes and circumcise their hearts so that they can see themselves reflected in God’s Word. Remind them that they are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, Your very own possession. Deliver them from the shame and anger that perversion and sin creates in their hearts and minds. Remind them that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus and that nothing can ever separate them from the Father’s love that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Help our youth to make Godly choices. Convict them when they watch, read, listen to and visit internet sites that are ungodly. Surround them with strong Christian friends who will support them and hold them accountable when they are wrong. Lead them to people who love Christ more than culture. Empower our youth to resist peer pressure. Holy Spirit, help our parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives. Help them to create holy, positive home environments for their children and youth.

Merciful Father, forgive our youth for any sexual sin they have participated in including pornography, fornication, oral sex, homosexuality, and taking inappropriate pictures of themselves. Forgive those who do not value their bodies. Forgive those parents and guardians who have not created holy environments in their homes and lived as models of righteousness and integrity. Forgive those single parents who are not living celibate lives. Forgive those parents who allow their boyfriends and girlfriends to spend the night in the home where their children live. Forgive those married parents who are engaged in extra-marital affairs. Forgive those parents who are involved with pornography and have made pornographic material accessible to their children and youth. Forgive us, as the Body of Christ, for turning a blind eye to what our children and youth are doing. Forgive us for not openly discussing sexual purity with our youth. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our youth of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our youth not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You are the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Spring Break Prayer for Our Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 96:1-6, Ecclesiastes 5:16-20

Reflections of the Heart:

Fun filled days riding bicycles, roller skating, playing baseball at the park. Spring Break is an opportunity for our children and youth to spend a week relaxing, laughing, playing and spending time with their friends and family. Let’s pray that our children and youth have a safe, fun-filled Spring Break.

Scriptural Prayer:

Faithful Father, we thank You for our children and youth. We thank You for fulfilling Your plans and purposes through our children and youth during their spring break activities. Thank You for blessing our children and youth with a chance to rest and relax. Loving Father, we bless Your Holy Name. We come before Your presence with thanksgiving and we shout joyfully to You, the Rock of our salvation. Lord, You are the great God, and the great King above all gods. In Your hand are the deep places of the earth; the mightiest mountains are Yours. The sea is Yours, for You made it, and Your hands formed the dry land. Lord, You are our God and we are the people You watch over, the flock under Your care.

Mighty Father, You make everything beautiful in its own time. Your Word declares that there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. We confess that our children and youth will be happy and enjoy themselves during their spring break. We declare that they live in Your shelter, Most High, so they will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. As a result, no harm will come near them during their spring break. We confess that our parents will seek Your wisdom while planning activities for this week so that You will show them which path to take. By faith, we declare that as our families spend time together during this week of rest and fellowship, that they will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. Lord, we declare that as we spend time together during this week, the hearts of our fathers will be turned back to their children, and the hearts of the children back to their fathers. By faith, we declare that our children and youth will obey their parents and the fathers will not provoke their children to anger by the way they treat them. We confess that peace, joy, unity, love and relaxation will prevail during this spring break.

List your specific requests for spring break and take those concerns to the Lord in prayer:

Holy Spirit, please open financial doors so that our families can take vacations. For those students whose parents aren’t planning a family trip, please lead and guide them to safe, holy activities and places during this week. Surround our children and youth with Godly friends who will not lead them into evil or destruction, but will encourage them to stay on the path of holiness and righteousness. Please help each student to find time to rest and relax, so that when they return to classes they are prepared to finish out this school year.

Redeeming Father, please forgive our children and youth for disobedience and all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those parents for any abuse or neglect of their children and youth. Forgive those for being so preoccupied with their own needs that they fail to have structure in their homes for healthy meals and quality family time. Forgive those for not always supporting our children’s educational needs. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, Your Name is very great; Your glory towers over the earth and heaven. You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory, honor and power. You created all things and they exist because You created what You pleased. You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Incarcerated Youth and Adults

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 9:1-10, Genesis39

Reflections of the Heart:

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Romans 8:1

Scriptural Prayer:

Worthy Father, we thank You for being a God of grace and mercy.

They will not follow the advice of the wicked, nor stand around with sinners, neither will they join in with mockers. But, they will delight in Your Word, Father, and meditate on it day and night. We confess that You, Lord, will be their refuge and their place of safety. For those youth and adults who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we confess that they will receive the Good News of the Gospel and confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that You raised Christ from the dead, so that they will be saved.

List the youth or adults that you know who are incarcerated and commit to praying for them this month:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You will encourage those who have become discouraged. Remind them that the Father is forever with them, for He will never leave nor abandon them. For those who have been wrongfully imprisoned, we ask that You would bring truth and revelation to their cases and open doors for them to be released. Please strengthen their faith in the Father and draw them closer to Him. Please comfort, strengthen and encourage the family members, especially the children whose parent is incarcerated. Heal their hearts  and mend any wound that the absence of this parent has created in their life. Please protect them from the evil words and comments that society may attempt to put upon them. Please destroy every generational cycle of incarceration within our families and community. Please create within the Body of Christ a heart of compassion to minister to those who are incarcerated and to their families.

Holy Spirit, help them not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

A Prayer for Healthy, Happy Marriages

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 98, Genesis 2:15-25

Reflections of the Heart:

Marriage is not just a relationship; it’s a covenant. You’re not just committed to a person; you’re committed to a purpose − one that God designed from the beginning to bring Him glory. Since it was designed by the Creator Himself, He alone is the best reference for maintaining and enjoying it.

Scriptural Prayer:

Exalted Father, thank You for Your great love that continues from generation to generation! Thank You for married couples. Thank You for encouraging and blessing our marriages. With our whole being we praise You. We rejoice in knowing that You are our God, and that we are the people You watch over and the flock under Your care. Thank You, Lord! We bless Your holy Name!  We stand in awe of You and Your unfailing  love for us. You are the Master who motivates our hearts toward all that is good. We acknowledge Your sovereignty over our marriages. We will sing a new song to You, Lord, for the wonderful deeds You have done. We shout with joy and worship You with gladness. We come before You singing with joy. You are the Lord, our Father, who made us and we are Yours!

Holy Spirit, we expect You to lead us into all truth as it pertains to the covenant of marriage. We confess that our married couples are never subject to the spirit of fear; but they have power, love and self-discipline to help them keep their covenant pure. Lord, we confess that our husbands will live with their wives according to knowledge and they will cherish them as the manifested gift of God’s favor. We declare that our wives will honor their husbands and will adorn themselves as Sarah did, not with material elegance, but with a quiet and peaceful spirit which You love, Lord God. We confess that our married couples will daily aspire to the greater love that Jesus personified and live a servant’s life before one another. We declare that they will provoke one another to good works and celebrate one another’s gifts. We confess that they will commit to encourage and build one another up in the Lord!

Holy Spirit, help each spouse to keep a heart of unconditional love for their mate. Reveal creative ways for our married  couples to love and enjoy each other.  Heal wounds and hurts and rejoin marriages that seem to be walking down separate paths. Teach them to freely issue mercy and to forgive quickly without allowing grudges to form. Magnify the model of marriage through those who have healthy marriages, so that others are inspired and encouraged. Anoint their unity together as husbands and wives, so that their children will be given stability and assurance, and the unsaved will be given hope concerning the sanctity of marriage. Re-light the passion and fire for those who are struggling sexually and emotionally. When our married couples speak of one another, whether in public or private, please season their tongues with grace. Help our married couples to stay committed to truth and to cover one another’s weaknesses with unyielding love.

Father, as a spouse, I commit to making my marriage better by:

Father, as a single person, I commit to praying for the following marriage(s):

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Father, forgive our married couples for being too stubborn to offer grace and mercy to their spouses when they should have. Forgive those who have neglected their commitment to their spouse, Sexually, emotionally and relationally. Where those couples have grown cold-hearted, make their hearts tender toward their spouses. Forgive them for the times they’ve become so distracted with the cares of this world that they have neglected their responsibility to one another. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our married couples of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our married couples not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

We worship You, O Great Deliverer! All praise belongs to You. You are the Lord God of Israel who alone does such wonderful things. We will praise Your glorious Name forever. Let the whole earth be filled with Your  glory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
