A Prayer of Worship

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 44:1-8, Deuteronomy 7:1-15

Reflections of the Heart:

Our God is an awesome God.  He is kind, tenderhearted, and merciful.  Our Father loves us with an everlasting love and He is always concerned about our welfare.  All that we need He provides through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. God should always be revered and adored.  He should have our utmost respect. Today, bless the Lord. Lift up your praises to the One who is the living God; our God who is our Father.

Scriptural Prayer:

Mighty Father, we thank You for Your love and compassion.  Thank You for keeping Your covenant with us throughout the ages.  Thank You for making us Your people. We bless Your Holy Name. We proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning and Your faithfulness in the evening. Lord, You are compassionate, merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those who fear You is as great as the height of the heavens are above the earth.  Let the whole world fear You, Lord. Let everyone stand in awe of You. Lord, You spoke and the world began; it appeared at Your command. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born. Lord, You are our inheritance, in You will we hope. What a joy it is to be one of Your children. Father, You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.

Wonderful Father, we reverence and honor You.  You are our God and we submit our loyalty and adoration to You. You are the First and the Last. You are the Living One.  You died, but now You are alive, forever and ever. You hold the keys of death and the grave. Hallel YAH! You existed before time and created everything that exists.  We acknowledge that You are the only living God. There are no other gods. Father, all of Your works will thank You, Lord and we, Your faithful followers, bless You. You are so awesome! We confess that we will keep Your commandments, walk in Your ways, and fear You.  Father, we confess that Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are clear, giving insight for living. Revering You is pure, lasting forever.  Your laws are true and each one is fair. Father, Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even the finest gold. Your Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us and we expect great reward as we adhere to it. Father, You are great and most worthy of praise.  We will bless You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.

October 7: A Prayer of Love for God and Our Neighbor

Almighty Father, thank You for loving us despite how we sometimes act or think.  Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others.  Thank You for helping us to be more loving and compassionate towards others. Lord, we come before You clapping our hands and shouting joyful praise to You.  You are the great King of all the earth.  You subdue the nations before us and put our enemies under our feet. Our hearts are confident in You, Father.  Because of this confidence, we will sing Your praises. We will wake the dawn with our song, Lord, among all the people.  We will sing Your praises among the nations for Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.  Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Glorious Father, as Your dear children, we commit to loving You with all our hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all. In the same Spirit, we also commit to loving our neighbors as ourselves. We confess that the Holy Spirit fills and controls us as we commit to doing Your will. We decree that we will be patient and kind instead of acting jealous, boastful, proud or rude.  We will not demand our own way, but we will be considerate of others and their opinions.  We will not be irritable or keep a record of being wronged.  But, we will be joyful and quick to forgive. We commit to living a righteous life. We will be patient and will not return evil with evil.  We will let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify You, our Father.

Holy Spirit, show us how to truly love the Father with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength.  Reveal to us those habits, mindsets and attitudes that prevent us from being truly surrendered to the Father.  Help us to not deceive ourselves by thinking we are walking in love while using our tongues to curse those who have been made in the Father’s image. In this world where we are told to put ourselves first, help us to truly put the Father first in our lives, and to esteem others better than ourselves.

Exalted Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins.  Forgive us for being irreverent and apathetic towards You.  Forgive us for murmuring and complaining and not showing our love and appreciation for all that You do for us.  Forgive us for being impatient with our neighbor. Forgive us for picking and choosing to whom we will show love.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are God alone.  You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its place.  You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos.  You are the Lord and there is no other.  You only speak what is true and declare only what is right.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

June 26: A Prayer of Worship and Adoration for God (Creator), Jesus Christ (Savior), and the Holy Spirit (Sustainer)

Gracious Father, we bless You. Thank You for being the King of Glory. Thank You for being our Father, Redeemer, Shepherd and King. Thank You for reconciling us back to You through Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are thankful to You for the Holy Spirit who is the promised Advocate who empowers us to be effective witnesses to Your Kingdom here on earth.  Thank You for loving us and watching over us.  Lord, let all that we are praise You.  We will praise You as long as we live.  We will sing Your praises with our dying breath.  Our hope is in You, the Lord, our God.  You created heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.  You keep every promise forever.  We stand amazed at how awesome You are!

Magnificent Father, today, we revere and honor You. You are our God and we submit our loyalty and adoration to You. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You existed before time and created everything that exists.  Lord, only You have held the ocean in Your hand.  You measured off the heavens with Your fingers and You know how much the earth weighs!  You are truly amazing!  Father, all nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket to You. They are nothing more than dust on the scales.  You pick up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand!  Lord, You sit above the circle of the earth, the people below are like grasshoppers to You.  You spread out the heavens like a curtain and make Your tent from them.  When we look up at the sky, we know that You created every star that we see.  You bring them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name.  Because of Your great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.  Lord, You are the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.  You never grow weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of Your understanding. You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation. Mighty King, You are our banner and shield, our strength and protection.  Lord Jesus, You are our Savior, our Redeemer and through You we are justified.  Holy Spirit, You are our Advocate, our Helper and the source of our power. We reverence and honor You, the Triune God.  Hallel YAH!

Take a moment and reflect on God’s presence in your life.  Now, write down three things that You are grateful to Him for and begin to praise Him:

Glorious Father, please let Your ears always be attentive to our prayers. Holy Spirit, continue to teach us how to love You, Jesus, our Brother, and our Father, God. Please touch the hearts of those who do not adore the Lord, and help them to love Him with all their hearts, souls, and strength. Please remind each of us of the many things that God does for us daily and help us to spend more time in praise and adoration.  Help us to be a thankful congregation who reflects the glory of God by the way we live our lives. Holy Spirit, help us to always be mindful of Your presence in our daily lives and help us to be quick to respond when You quicken us to action.

Forgiving Father, forgive us for sins of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and idolatry.  Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship. Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently.

Forgive those who choose to not honor You during Your feasts, which are Your special times of celebration.  Forgive those of us who are parents for not teaching our children to adore You.  Lord Jesus, forgive those who take Your sacrifice for granted. Holy Spirit, forgive those who do not acknowledge You or Your presence in their daily lives.

Lord God, the Almighty, You reign!  Great and marvelous are Your works!  Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations.  Who will not fear You and glorify Your Name?  You alone are holy!  All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 12: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for The Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, we thank You for saving us through the sacrifice of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.  We thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to instruct, guide, teach and comfort us.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering us to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ and being God’s guarantee for the inheritance He promised.  Because of You, this guarantee includes that we have been purchased to be His own people.  Hallel YAH!  Father God, we praise You, our Savior.  Each day You carry us in Your arms.  You are the God who saves, the Sovereign Lord who rescues us from death.  We will sing to You, the One who rides across the ancient heavens; Your mighty voice thunders from the sky.  We will tell everyone about Your power.  Your majesty shines down on Israel; Your strength is mighty in the heavens.  You are awesome in Your sanctuary.

Mighty God, we have not received a spirit that makes us fearful slaves; instead, we have received Your Spirit when You adopted us as Your children. We confess that the same Holy Spirit who resurrected Jesus from the dead now dwells within us.  It is the Holy Spirit who gives life to our mortal bodies, just as He gave life to Christ and raised Him from the dead.  We decree that You, Holy Spirit, are our Comforter and our Helper.  You are Holy.  We depend on You to remind us of everything Jesus taught while He lived on the earth.  You are God’s power source, and You are the Teacher of all truth.  We thank You for being God’s Representative in the earth, the One through whom God relates to all believers, the Producer of the Fruit of the Spirit and our Advocate.  We love You, Holy Spirit, and thank You for working through us to perform miracles, signs and wonders so that people will experience the Kingdom of God.  As a Church Family, we confess that we will not be filled with wine, but we will be filled with the Holy Spirit; singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among ourselves and making music to the Lord in our hearts.

Holy Spirit, continue to lead and guide our lives.  As we study God’s Word, reveal the Kingdom of God to us and within us and help us to share the Kingdom in this dark world.  Show us those areas in our personal lives that we need to get in order so that we will not bring You sorrow by the way we live.  Help us to get rid of all bitterness, unforgiveness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Instead, show us how to be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven us through Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit, what are the areas in my life that I need to surrender to You?  List them:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Heavenly Father, forgive those who deny the existence or power of the Holy Spirit.  Forgive those who have discouraged others from embracing the fullness of the Holy Spirit.  Forgive us for not completely yielding control of our lives to the Holy Spirit.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).   Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Almighty God, the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it all belong to You.  You are the God of gods and Lord of lords.  You are the great God, the mighty and awesome God who shows no partiality and cannot be bribed. You alone are worthy of praise because You alone perform such great miracles.  In the majestic Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen!

You alone are worthy of praise because You alone perform such great miracles.  In the majestic Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen!

March 17: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Jesus Christ

Our Father God, we thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your one and only Son, Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. We love and adore You. Lord Jesus, thank You for sacrificing Your life on the cross for our sins.  Because of You, we can now stand before You as pure, holy, and justified. We also thank You for sending the Holy Spirit, our Comforter.  Holy Spirit, we thank You for filling us with love, fruit, gifts and power.  We exalt You, our God and King. We praise Your Name forever and ever.

Jesus, our Bread of Life, we are grateful that You have given us peace with God. Because of Your obedience and sacrifice there is no longer a void between us and our Heavenly Father. Lord, You were wounded for our transgressions. You were bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon You, and by Your stripes we are healed. Your Name is above all other names. At Your Name every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that You are Lord. Thank You for redeeming us and placing the Kingdom of God within us. Hallel YAH!

What changes have occurred in your life since Jesus Christ has become your personal Lord and Savior:

Holy Spirit, help us to stay focused on Kingdom business instead of worldly desires, and selfish cares and concerns. Help us to regard Jesus’ Name as holy. Help us to keep renewing our minds daily until the image of Christ is formed on the inside of us. Help us to show great reverence for the suffering, the shame, and the sacrifice of our Lord. And keep us humbled in knowing that were it not for Jesus Christ, we would have no hope at all.

Loving Father, forgive us for at times disregarding the sacrifice the Lord Jesus made to secure our freedom. Forgive us for taking unfair advantage of that freedom. Forgive those of us for failing to observe communion with You and with our families. Forgive us for making excuses for our disobedience in doing our part to fulfill the Great Commission.  Lord, forgive me for (list the sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say out loud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a scepter of justice. You are the Lord, our Redeemer and Creator, who made all things. You alone stretched out the heavens. You reign forever, executing judgment from Your throne. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

January 20: A Declaration of Worship to God, Our Father

You are the only true God.  You are the living God and the everlasting King!  Father, all of Your works will thank You, Lord and we, Your faithful followers, bless You.  You are so awesome! We declare that we will keep Your commandments, walk in Your ways, and fear You.  Father, Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls.

List three character attributes about God, as Father, that you love:

Loving Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayer.  Holy Spirit, teach us how to reverence and adore our Father in true holiness.  Please touch the hearts of those in our congregation who do not reverence and adore You, and help them to love You with all their hearts, souls, and strength.  Holy Spirit, place in us a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness, so that we will be filled.

Gracious Father, forgive us for sins of pride, arrogance, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, idolatry, and lack of faith.  Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship.  Forgive us for disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently.   Forgive those of us who are parents for not teaching our children to reverence and adore You.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  You are the God who is, and who always was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One.  All honor and glory belongs to You, God, forever and ever!  You are the eternal King, the unseen One who will never die; You alone are God.  Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
