Reflections of the Heart:
“The safest place in all the world is in the will of God, and the safest protection in all the world is the name of God.” ~ Warren Wiersbe
Scriptural Prayer:
Wonderful Father, we thank You for Your peace and protection. Thank You for provision that enables families to love one another, raise children with a Godly foundation and be an example of unity within their communities. We thank You, Lord, for having plans for good and not disaster for them, to give them a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing them with Your perfect peace, as they keep their thoughts fixed on You. They will come before You clapping their hands and shouting with joy unto You. Lord Most High, You are awesome! You subdue nations before families and put their enemies under their feet! Father, we thank You for choosing this promised land for an inheritance for them and their families. They will sing praises to You, Lord, and declare that You are the King over all of the earth!
Almighty Father, You are the light and salvation in the lives of families, so they will not be afraid. You are their fortress, protecting them from danger so they will not tremble. We declare that they will live peacefully and safely in their workplaces and homes and that their homes will be places of rest. We decree that families are vibrant and prosperous through the use of their gifts and talents. They will depart from evil and do good; they will search for peace and work to maintain it. Lord, we expect that You will always put a wall of protection around them, their homes and properties, and You will allow them to prosper in everything they do. In the authority given to them by Jesus Christ, families will cancel the assignments of the spirits of fear, intimidation, theft, vandalism, murder, destruction, discord and perversion from their homes and workplaces.
Holy Spirit, how can I continue to pray for peace and protection in the lives of families?
Merciful Father, remind families that the greatest resource of peace and protection is the Lord God Almighty. Incline their hearts to seek Him first and search His Word for wisdom, comfort, refuge and direction. Give them the strength and courage to stand when social media, television, movies, peers and Internet influences, do not represent the Godly values set forth in their homes. Keep them from all temptations including the urge to love this world more than You or mistreat their parents, siblings and extended family members. Holy Spirit, impress upon families the importance of finding the right balance between their work and personal lives. Provide them opportunities to relax and have fun in safe and loving environments.
Forgiving Father, forgive families for all acts of sinfulness, including jealousy, rivalries, dishonesty, injustice, hatred, oppression, greed, idolatry, pride, slander, sexual immorality, selfish ambition, and abuse of any type. Forgive those who choose not to trust in You for all things in all ways. Forgive families who say they are Christians but do not share Your Gospel nor act in a way that would inspire others to ask them what mighty God they serve. Holy Spirit, remind families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help families not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
Eternal Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
