A Prayer For Immigrant Families Along The U.S. Border

Gracious Father, we thank You for the signing of the executive order for immigrant families to stay together. Thank You for being concerned for all humanity, including immigrant families. Thank You for Your presence, love and mercy towards these families. Lord God, Your ways are perfect. All of Your promises prove true. You are a shield for all who look to You for protection. There is no God except You, Lord. You are a solid rock.

Righteous Father, we command justice to continue to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream for the immigrant families entrenched in the current atrocity that separated children from their parents in America! Lord, we rebuke the spirits of obstinance, chaos, and confusion and command peace to be still in the processing of these families. Lord, continue to hear the cries of these families and rescue them from trouble. We expect that You will meet their needs speedily from Your glorious riches which have been given in Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit, help President Donald Trump and Congress to reach a scriptural resolution for this issue. Give them no rest until it is done! Touch the hearts of the United States Border Patrol men and women and help them to treat the families, especially the children, fairly and with compassion. Remind them of the legacy of America in which many families have found better economic opportunities and refuge throughout history. Lord, please have mercy on our nation! Convict the hearts of those who are preying on the fears of these families to manipulate them. As the Body of Christ, please show us what actions we are to take and how we are to extend Your love and grace to these families.

Abba Father, forgive our leaders for the dehumanizing and unscriptural acts of separating immigrant families. Holy Spirit, help our nation to be forgiving.

Holy Spirit, help our citizens not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.\

Triumphant God, You are King! The mountains melt like wax before You, Lord. The heavens proclaim Your righteousness; every nation sees Your glory! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Reflections of the Heart:
This is the ______ day of the Omer. “We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by Jesus Christ, our eternal Redeemer and Savior, and commanded us to count the Omer. By faith, we wait with joyful hearts to celebrate the sending of Your Holy Spirit.”

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for blessing the United States of America with abundance and prosperity. Thank You for surrounding our nation with Your favor, grace, and mercy. Thank You for our military personnel who sacrifice greatly to protect our nation. God, You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born. You assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. We praise Your Name forever and ever, for You possess all wisdom and power. Lord, You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. You sit on Your holy throne and reign above the nations. All the kings of the earth belong to You. You are highly honored everywhere.

Heavenly Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in our nation. Father, unless You build the house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless You protect our nation, guarding it with sentries will do no good. While many citizens may worship other god’s in our nation, we proclaim that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. By faith, we declare that as Jesus Christ is lifted up in our nation, all people will to be drawn to Him. We decree that we live in the shelter of the Most High and we find rest in the shadow of You, the Almighty. God, You are our refuge, our place of safety. Lord of Heaven’s armies, You are our God and we will trust in You. Lord, we confess that no evil will come upon our nation; neither will any plague come near us. Your Word states that You have given Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. We expect that You alone, will make us dwell in safety. Father, we expect Your Spirit to be poured out upon our nation. On today, the National Day of Prayer, we are expecting to receive Your Spirit abundantly. We declare that people in our nation will be set free today; for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Come, Holy Spirit, come!

October 4: A Prayer of Wisdom for the United States Presidential Election

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our King, Lord and leader. Thank You for the right to vote. Thank You for the authority to expect change through prayer. Thank You for giving us the wisdom, discernment and knowledge to pray for our nation’s elections. We, Your servants, praise You. We will hold up holy hands in prayer and praise You. Every king in all the earth will thank You, Lord, for all of us will hear Your words. Yes, we will sing about Your ways, for Your glory is very great! You are great. You care for the humble, but keep Your distance from the proud. Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation.

Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the upcoming presidential elections. Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity. We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight. In obedience to Your Word, we intercede for the upcoming elections. We decree that the political election process will yield to Your plans. Father, You hold the heart of the king in Your hand and You will turn it in the direction that You choose. We confess and expect that the hearts of the candidates will be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit. We command peace to be still within the presidential elections. We declare that Your plans will prevail and each candidate will address the issues, take the “high road,” and inspire American voters. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every word that is spoken by the media that does not align with Your will for these campaigns. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. We declare that the democratic process will be implemented fairly and justly throughout our city, state and nation during this upcoming election process.

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as I research the candidates for President:

Holy Spirit, please speak to the hearts of the candidates. Continue to increase Your spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, courage, might, and knowledge within them. We do not know what their level of commitment is to You, but we ask You to communicate with them on behalf of Your people. Equip them with everything they need for doing Your will and produce in them, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to You. Convict them, along with their entire staff and volunteers, if they use ungodly campaign tactics or resort to political mudslinging. Confuse the thoughts and messages of those who have disregard for Your Kingdom. Father, dispatch Your angels to guard and protect their families and destroy every assignment that the devil devises against them. Father, we know that nothing is too difficult for You.

Everlasting Father, please have mercy upon us and forgive our nation for its many sins. Forgive us for making “self” the center of our American culture. Forgive each candidate for his sins. Forgive them for trusting in their own abilities instead of trusting in You. Forgive them when they do not consult with You before making decisions or administering their authority and power. Forgive them for the times they have not been fair, compassionate, or understanding as public servants. Forgive them when they are being people pleasers and not God pleasers. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive those American citizens who have not exercised the privilege to vote, yet complain about our country’s leadership.

As for me, Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, if there are any candidates who need to forgive anyone, please bring it to their remembrance and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our candidates to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You. All of Your acts are just and true. You alone have held the oceans in Your hand. You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth. The Lord God Almighty is Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth. Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings. We are grateful, and we bless Your Name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. We praise Your Name, Father, forever and ever. You have all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light.

Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. We pray for President Barack Obama and all state, and national leaders. We pray for Mayor Sylvester Turner, our city council members and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our political leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state and city. We declare that the decisions made by our political leaders will be inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. We destroy the assignments of the devil and we silence the voice of every demonic force.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national political leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes. Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry. Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead. Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing and obedient to Your will. Cause each of their lives to glorify Your Name.

Loving Father, please forgive our local, state and national leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You daily. Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, fornication, homosexuality, perversion, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive us, the body of Christ, for making our political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do not align their agendas with Yours. Forgive those politicians who say they are Christians, but conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word. Father, please have mercy on this nation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind our local, state and national leaders of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. Heavenly Father, we thank You for blessing the United States of America throughout the years. Thank You for surrounding our nation with Your favor, grace and mercy. Thank You for being our source, supply and hope. Thank You for entrusting us to pray for our leaders. Thank You for unifying our nation and for continuing to bless us. Your faithful love endures forever. Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth. Your glory is higher than the heavens. May Your glorious Name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise! You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship You. We, Your children bless You!

Invincible Father, as Your people, we humble ourselves, pray and seek Your face. We believe that as we turn towards you, You will hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land. We are expecting Your eyes to open and Your ears to be attentive to our prayers. As a nation, we declare that we will live together in unity. We confess that as a nation, we will be of one mind, we will sympathize with each other and love each other as brothers and sisters.We will be tenderhearted, keep a humble attitude and will not repay evil for evil or retaliate with insults when people insult us. Lord, Your Word admonishes that a city or house divided against itself will not stand. We declare that our political, civil, business and religious leaders will work together to bring peace and unity into our nation. We commit to praying for our political leaders and those that are in authority over us so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity.

We are seeing and hearing a lot about division in our nation on the news. Find scriptures about unity and begin to declare them over our city, state and nation:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You to circumcise the hearts of the Christian members of Congress and use them as a catalyst for change. Help the Body of Christ to find ways to be the light in the midst of all the negativity and darkness in our nation. Please continue to heal the wounds that recent cases of injustice along with careless rhetoric from the media and politicians have created in our nation. Cast out the spirit of fear that has gripped the hearts and minds of so many Americans and help us to get back to being a nation of people who looked out for their neighbor.

Faithful Father, forgive our nation for its many sins. Forgive us for racism, sexism, ageism, idolatry, lying, deceit and character assassination. Forgive us for being self-serving, boastful, proud and arrogant. Forgive us for not acknowledging Your authority and for compromising Your truth. Forgive the Body of Christ for not praying more fervently about the situations in our nation. Forgive those who continually stir up confusion and strife. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. Victorious Lord, there is none like You. You are great and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You, alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You. You are the King of glory. You are the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. You are worthy, Lord our God, to receive glory, honor and power. You created all things and they exist because You created what You pleased. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

August 5: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts. You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born. Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken. You are an awesome God!

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas. Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured. We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety. You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing. We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going. In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage. As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

Holy Spirit, help the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers to heal. Help them to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years. Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits. Please send people who will love, support, and comfort them. God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to the Dallas officers who are in the hospital or recovering at home. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted in their souls. Holy Spirit, comfort all citizens of America. Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger, and unforgiveness. Let Your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition, and misunderstanding.

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity. Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent. Father, please have mercy on our country. Gracious Father, we thank You for being faithful to the United States of America throughout our history. Thank You for blessing us to prosper and to grow from generation to generation. Thank You for keeping our nation through our economic hardships and financial conflicts. You have been merciful, Lord. This whole earth, everything in it, and the people who inhabit it belong to You, O God. It is You who supplies us with abundance. It is You who sustains us in times of lack. Your instructions are perfect, they revive our souls. Your commandments are clear and right. They give us insight for living. We, Your children, delight in them and love to meditate on them day and night. We are grateful that You are willing to bear the heavy burdens of our nation so that we are free to worship You and receive rest. Dear Father, it is You who strengthens our nation and holds us up with Your victorious right hand!

Holy Father, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ Name, rebuking the principalities and powers that are inciting conflict and destruction in our nation’s businesses, banks, oil and gas industry, and every other financial entity that contributes to our national economy. We command our economic infrastructure to stabilize and align to Your will, Lord. We confess that the hope of our nation’s citizens will no longer be deferred. Lord, we declare that You will continue to raise up people within our nation’s financial leadership who have a supernatural anointing like Joseph’s to receive, interpret, and administrate visions that will save companies, restore jobs, and open new opportunities in stagnant sectors of our economic markets. All-Knowing Father, we decree that Your solution will be sought and revealed in the earth to justify American jobs and encourage innovation and global competitiveness among domestic corporations, giving priority consideration to United States taxpayers.

Make a list of businesses in your community and begin to support them.

Glorious Father, we pray that Your generous outpouring of wisdom, discernment, and divine understanding will be gladly received by all local, state, and national economic and governmental leaders. Holy Spirit, we ask You to strategically assign men and women who are fully equipped to reveal creative ideas and effective methods to the current presidential economic team. Show them how to decrease our national deficit while continuing to provide the necessary standards, services, and benefits to the American people. Holy Spirit, please revive the Body of Christ and remind us of who we are − the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Give us divine motivation to boldly declare the Word of God so that those who have become captives of this world’s system can be liberated. Help us, as a nation, to reconnect to the Living God as our source and supply, and remove any thoughts of doubt, fear, or dismay.

Loving Father, we repent on behalf of our nation for our many sins. We acknowledge that many of us played an active role in causing the downturn of our economy. Forgive us for greed, arrogance, selfishness, and oppression of the poor. Forgive our CEOs for overcompensating themselves and placing their employees and companies in jeopardy in order to maintain their lavish lifestyles and greedy appetites. Forgive those consumers who acted out of impulse and impatience and made unwise choices, landing them and their families in tremendous debt. Merciful Father, please forgive our nation for being selfish, reckless, and irresponsible with the blessings You intended to be handed down to the generations following us. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the citizens of our nation of those they need to forgive and help us all to be quick to forgive. Omnipotent God, how great are Your riches and wisdom and knowledge! You are the God who does great things too marvelous to understand. It is You who performs countless miracles. We praise You, Lord! A Prayer for Peace in the United States

Almighty Father, we thank You for blessing our nation with your provision and protection throughout its history. We thank You for being faithful to Your covenant towards humankind, even when we have not been faithful to You. Thank You for extending Your mercy and grace in spite of our actions towards You and our neighbor. You are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. We praise Your great and awesome Name. Your Name is holy! You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. You created all things and they exist because You created what You pleased.

Loving Father, bend down and hear our prayer. Please answer us, for we need Your help. Countless lives are being destroyed and our communities are in need of Your divine presence, wisdom and guidance. In Jesus’ name, we destroy the wicked plans of the devil to divide the citizens of our nation. We cancel the assignments of the demonic spirits of murder, division, hatred and violence. Peace, be still in our nation! Peace, be still in every branch of government! Peace, be still in our law enforcement and judicial systems! Peace, be still in the hearts of our citizens! We command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream with the hearts of EVERY American.

Holy Spirit, comfort the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers. All of their lives were needlessly destroyed. Increase you wisdom, knowledge and discernment in every leader as they collaborate to calm the unrest in our nation and destroy the social strands of racism.

Comfort the citizens of Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas. Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger and unforgiveness. Let your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition and misunderstanding.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:

Holy Spirit, help our local, state and national leaders to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

June 17: A Declaration of Wisdom and Unity for President Barack Obama, His Administration and Congress

Almighty Father, thank You for blessing our country, the United States of America. Thank You for being patient with our nation despite all the rancor and division. Thank You for continuing to pour out Your Spirit over this nation and advancing Your Kingdom on earth. We appreciate Your loving-kindness and tender mercies. Father, we come singing a new song to You, for You have done wonderful deeds. With all that we are, we will praise You, our Lord and God; for You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; You lay out the rafters of Your home in the rain clouds. You make clouds Your chariot; You ride upon the wings of the wind.

Righteous Father, Your Word declares that all authority comes from You, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by You. With this in mind, we submit to You our President, his administration and Congress. By faith, we declare that President Barack Obama, and his cabinet and Congress who know You, will trust in You with all of their hearts and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do and as they do this, we trust that You will show them which path to take as they lead and direct this nation. We declare that they will not be impressed with their own wisdom, but instead they will fear You and turn away from evil. Your Word admonishes that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We decree that the members of Congress will work together towards the good of the American people. We declare that they will turn away from division and evil and do good; they will search for peace and work to maintain it.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can pray specifically for President Obama, his administration and Congress:

Triumphant God, please arise in our government and cause Your enemies of racism, partiality, confusion and discord to be scattered. Holy Spirit, please continue to pour Your wisdom, discernment and power into President Obama, his administration and Congress. Continue to surround him and his administration with favor as they conduct business with Congress and world leaders. Please give them Your ideas to conquer the issues that are plaguing our nation including the environment, education, unemployment, economy, healthcare, national security, and the natural disasters that have devastated our nation. Continue to touch the Body of Christ to pray for President Obama and all government leaders so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity.

Righteous Father, please forgive our nation for imperialism, consumerism and a form of capitalism that is oppressive and subversive. Forgive us for idolatry, lying, deceit and character assassination. Forgive us for being self-serving, boastful, proud and arrogant. Forgive us for not acknowledging Your authority and for compromising Your truth. We realize that our sins are many!

Lord, forgive me for ____________(list any sins that you have committed.

Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.__________________(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive___________________________________(name of person(s).”Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, as a nation, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and strength belong to You forever and ever. You are the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end. You are the One who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
