A Prayer For Immigrant Families Along The U.S. Border

Gracious Father, we thank You for the signing of the executive order for immigrant families to stay together.  Thank You for being concerned for all humanity, including immigrant families.  Thank You for Your presence, love and mercy towards these families.  Lord God, Your ways are perfect.  All of Your promises prove true.  You are a shield for all who look to You for protection.  There is no God except You, Lord.  You are a solid rock.

Righteous Father, we command justice to continue to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream for the immigrant families entrenched in the current atrocity that separated children from their parents in America!  Lord, we rebuke the spirits of obstinance, chaos, and confusion and command peace to be still in the processing of these families.  Lord, continue to hear the cries of these families and rescue them from trouble.  We expect that You will meet their needs speedily from Your glorious riches which have been given in Christ Jesus.

Holy Spirit, help President Donald Trump and Congress to reach a scriptural resolution for this issue.  Give them no rest until it is done!  Touch the hearts of the United States Border Patrol men and women and help them to treat the families, especially the children, fairly and with compassion.  Remind them of the legacy of America in which many families have found better economic opportunities and refuge throughout history.  Lord, please have mercy on our nation!  Convict the hearts of those who are preying on the fears of these families to manipulate them.  As the Body of Christ, please show us what actions we are to take and how we are to extend Your love and grace to these families.

Abba Father, forgive our leaders for the dehumanizing and unscriptural acts of separating immigrant families. Holy Spirit, help our nation to be forgiving.

Holy Spirit, help our citizens not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.\

Triumphant God, You are King!  The mountains melt like wax before You, Lord.  The heavens proclaim Your righteousness; every nation sees Your glory!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

October 6: A Prayer of Hope

Loving Father, we thank You for Your love. Thank You for the plans that You have for each of our lives; plans for good and not for disaster so that we may each have a future and a hope. Thank You that all of Your promises in Christ are “Yes” and in Him, “Amen,” to Your glory through us. Lord, we are joyful because we trust in You. You have performed many wonders for us.  Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal.  If we tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds, we would never come to the end of them.  Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever.  You rule with a scepter of justice.

Glorious Father, You send Your Word out and it always produces fruit.  It will accomplish all that You want it to and it prospers everywhere that You send it.  Father, we declare that we will continue to circle the promises that You have made in Your Word and confess them daily, trusting that Your Word will produce fruit in our lives. We will remain persistent in prayer and expect the Jericho Walls in our lives to come down in Jesus’ Name.  We will not grow weary while we wait for the manifestation of Your promises.  We know that endurance develops strength of character which strengthens our confident hope of salvation; and we know that this hope will not lead to disappointment. We decree that we will rejoice in our confident hope, be patient in trouble and keep on praying.  We confess that we walk by faith and not by sight.  We refuse to give up on You.  We refuse to give in to small goals and we refuse to give out to fatigue, disappointment or despair. Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ Jesus who loved us.

What promises of God are you still waiting for?  Find those promises in His Word, and confess them over your life daily:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to remember daily that our hope rests in our heavenly Father who loves us. Father, some of us have experienced so many disappointments that we have a hard time believing Yourpromises.  Please help us to get the help we need to process our past so we will not cripple our present or future through unbelief.  Holy Spirit, please help each of us to identify those God-given dreams and visions that we have put on the shelf and to start praying, praising and believing that in due season, those dreams and visions will become earthly realities.

Gracious Father, forgive us for trusting people and things instead of You. Forgive us for not praying emphatic, passionate prayers.  Forgive us for doubting You and the promises You have given us. Forgive those for growing weary while waiting on the manifestation of promises and visions. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused byunforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

All glory, majesty, power and authority are Yours, King Most High, before all time, in the present and beyond all time.  You are the One who is and always was.  You have assumed Your great power and have begun to reign!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

September 29: A Prayer for Wives Who are Desiring To Get Pregnant

Our Father, we thank You for the blessing of children and family. Thank You for each wife who stands in faithful expectancy of a child to hold in her arms. Thank You for Your creative power which is able to open closed wombs and cause them to thrive with new life. We will praise You, Lord, with all our hearts. We will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. We will be filled with joy because of You, and we will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High. May Your glorious Name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!

Exalted Father, we believe that just as You were attentive to Hannah’s pleas for help, You hear the cries of every wife who longs to become a mother. We, the Body of Christ, declare that their prayers will not go unanswered, for You promised that You would withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. We confess that these wives will not grow weary and lose hope. In Jesus Name, we declare that bodies of each husband and wife in the Body of Christ are whole and complete, lacking nothing. We confess that they have victory over doubt, fear, and unbelief. We believe that You will connect them with those people who will love and support them as they trust You for children of their own. We decree that they will be parents who are full of wisdom and patience. They will train their children up in the way they should go, and when their children are old they will not depart from it. These expectant couples will do all they can to nurture their marriages so that the atmosphere of their home will be ready to receive children into a loving, peaceful environment.

List the names of any wives you know who desire to have a child and pray for them by name today:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would prompt the wives who are desiring to get pregnant to disconnect from any negative influences in their lives. Lead them to develop strong, healthy relationships with faith-filled believers who will stand in agreement with them and their husbands. Teach them how to take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. Help them to rest and trust in the Father’s perfect timing. Keep them from becoming envious of others who have already conceived a child. Heal their hearts and deliver them from any guilt or shame they may be feeling. Help their husbands to show compassion and be patient and understanding toward them as they wait to conceive. Once they do conceive, strengthen them against the temptation to worship or overindulge their children. May they always be thankful and give glory to God, keeping Him first in their lives.

Loving Father, forgive the wives who desire to get pregnant of any known or unknown acts of disobedience. Forgive the wives and husbands for any past sins they may have committed. Forgive them for holding unforgiveness in their hearts toward others. Forgive them for giving in to frustration, anger, or outbursts of wrath. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the wives and husbands of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show You names or faces of people that You may need to forgive. As He shows You, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the wives and husbands who desire to get pregnant to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for You? You are mighty, but You do not despise anyone. You are mighty in both power and understanding. You are greater than we can understand. Your years cannot be counted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born.  Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken.  You are an awesome God!

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas.  Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured.  We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety.  You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing.  We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going.  In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage.  As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

List the names of at least 3 people who died through senseless shootings in America.  Include their families in this prayer: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity.  Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent.  Father, please have mercy on our country.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

August 9: A Declaration of Financial Breakthrough

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our provider.  Thank You for giving us Your Word on how to make our way prosperous and successful.  Father, thank You for surrounding us with Your favor like a shield as we do business in our public and private lives. Thank You for continuing to open doors of opportunity.  Thank You, Father, for Your Word to use as our economic strong tower during these trying financial times.  We praise You with all of our hearts; we will tell of all the marvelous things You have done.  Your reign is forever.  You execute judgment from Your throne.  You judge the world with justice and the people righteously.  Lord, You are a shelter for the oppressed and a refuge in times of trouble.  We trust in You because we know Your Name; we know that You do not abandon those who search for You.  Father, Your righteousness reaches to the highest heavens. You have done wonderful things!  Who can compare with You?

Glorious Father, we declare that we are blessed because we fear You, and delight in obeying Your commands.  We believe that Your plans for our finances are for good and not for disaster, to give us a prosperous future and a hope.  As we are willing and obedient, according to Your Word, we will have plenty to eat.  We will trust in You because we know that Your Word is Truth. We confess that our confidence is in You and not in our jobs, our investments, our bank accounts or ourselves. We commit to seeking Your Kingdom first above all things and living righteously and we know that You will give us everything we need. We rebuke old mindsets, habits and behavior patterns that have created lack and poverty. In the Name of Jesus, we stand united against thoughts of failure, defeat and mediocrity. According to Your Word, we confess that we will be wealthy and our good deeds will last forever.

What are God’s promises for your finances?  Write those Scriptures down and confess them over your life:

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask You to help those who are drowning in financial debt.  Lead them to someone who can help them to manage their finances better. As we receive increases in our finances, help us, Holy Spirit, to remember that You are the One who provides abundance. Please help us to not hoard Your financial blessings. Your Word says that when we help the poor, we are lending to the Lord and He will repay our generosity. So please, Holy Spirit, remind us to be generous and to look for opportunities to be a financial blessing to someone else in need. Teach us Your Way to love people and to use money, rather than the devil’s way of loving money and using people.

Merciful Father, forgive us for all acts of sin including idolatry, greed, stinginess, self-centeredness, arrogance, pride, stubbornness, financial disobedience and any other act of unrighteousness. Forgive those of us who continue to participate in the downward spiral of financial mismanagement.  Forgive those of us who, whether in ignorance or in rebellion, fail to develop financial plans that include tithing, debt reduction, savings and investments. Forgive us for living beyond our means and misusing credit cards. Father, forgive those members of the Body of Christ who do not pay their tithes and help them to get on track and begin to tithe. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Glorious Lord, You made the earth by the power of Your Word and preserve it by Your Wisdom.  With Your own understanding You stretched out the heavens.  When You speak in the thunder, You announce that the heavens are filled with water.  You cause the clouds to rise over the earth.  You send the lightning with the rain and release the wind from Your storehouses.  Holy, holy, holy are You the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the whole earth is filled with Your glory!  In Jesus Name, Amen.

July 25: A Prayer for Physical Healing and Deliverance

Glorious Father, we thank You for salvation. Thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to break the power of the devil and to bring us hope, health, and healing. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit, to comfort and empower us. We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds.  Lord, You are good and Your unfailing love endures forever.  You are great and You perform wonderful deeds.  You alone are God.

Awesome Father, You brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and powerful arm.  Jesus Christ, Your Son, turned water into wine, cleansed lepers, healed the sick, raised the dead, and fed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread.  Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples so that we would believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His Name.  We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.  Therefore, Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of those people who are in need of healing and deliverance.  With You, nothing is impossible.  We expect diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and souls to be set free.  As we pray for those in need of healing and deliverance, we confess that Your power will operate through us.

List the names of people you know who need a physical healing and deliverance; encourage them to pray Scriptures of healing located at http://myprayerinstitute.wordpress.com/category/healing/)

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, please help us to be bolder about praying for healing and deliverance.  Help those in need of healing and deliverance to trust in You with all of their heart and not depend on their own understanding. Holy Spirit, please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will understand the confident hope given to those Christ has called.  Remind people to look to You for help, strength, and power.  Father, cause Your awesome power to be experienced throughout our church and community.

Merciful Father, forgive those people who have doubted Your Word and Your works.  Forgive them for acting Godly, but denying Your power to perform healings, signs and wonders in their lives and in the lives of others.  Lord, please forgive them and restore to them the joy of Your salvation.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those people who are in need of physical healing and deliverance to forgive others and please help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those people who are in need of physical healing and deliverance to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Royal Lord, You are the Almighty!  Only You can open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.  You cause the lame to leap like deer and those who cannot speak to sing for joy.  You cause springs to gush forth in the wilderness and streams to water the wasteland. You cause the parched ground to become a pool and springs of water to satisfy the thirsty land.  Great and awesome is Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

July 23: A Prayer for the Young Adults

Marvelous Father, we thank You for the young adults in the Body of Christ. Thank You for the bright and prosperous future that You have for each of them. Thank You for the blood of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ, that brought us all near to You. Great is Your faithfulness. Your mercies are fresh every morning. We praise Your great and awesome Name. Your Name is holy! It is because of Your faithfulness that our young adults are kept strong in You and the power of Your might.

Faithful Father, we declare that the young adults in the Body of Christ are confident they have been raised from the dead along with Christ, and they are seated in the heavenly realms because they are united with Him.  They are new people. Their old lives are gone, and a new life has begun!  Lord, it is Your will that they be joyful always, ceaseless in prayer, and thankful in all circumstances. In Jesus’ Name, we declare that they are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. They do only those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.  We declare that wisdom will enter their hearts, and knowledge will fill them with joy. Wise choices will watch over them and understanding will keep them safe.   We decree that they are living wisely and making the most of every opportunity.

Holy Spirit, help our young adults to strip off every weight that slows them down; especially the sins that so easily trips them up. Teach them to run with endurance the race God has set before them. Search them, O God, and know their hearts. Test them and know their anxious thoughts. Point out anything in them that offends You, and lead them along the path of everlasting life. Help them to daily trust in the Lord with all of their hearts and not lean to their own understanding, to seek His will in all that they do so that He can show them which path to take.  Show them how to make divine connections with others who will hold them accountable and help keep them focused and pressing toward the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling them.  Lord, show them the place and position that You have ordained for them in Your Kingdom.  Help us as the Body of Christ to embrace and empower our young adults to stand strong in their Kingdom faith.

Father, I commit to encouraging and praying for the following young adults:

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Compassionate Father, forgive our young adults collectively and individually for the sinful acts that they have committed against You, including: idolatry, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, fornication, envy, drunkenness, division and disobedience. Forgive them for times when they have lost sight of who they are in Christ Jesus.  Forgive us as the Body of Christ where we have not acknowledged or embraced our young adults.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our young adults of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our young adults not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth; Your right hand that spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they all appear in order. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours, O Lord, and this is Your Kingdom.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

July 21: A Prayer for Health Professionals

Divine Father, thank You for showing us the wonders of Your unfailing love. Thank You for hearing our cry for mercy and answering our call for help. Thank You for all those in the Body of Christ who serve in the health profession. We thank You for doctors, nurses, researchers, scientists, hospital administrators, therapists, pharmacists, medical assistants, paramedics, and medical technicians with discernment, understanding, knowledge, and courage. What a blessing they are to all of us! By Your wisdom, You have strategically equipped and anointed men and women with expertise in medicine, science, nutrition, pharmacy, surgery, rehabilitation, and counseling. Lord, You made the heavens Your throne; You rule over everything from there.  Your angels praise You, Lord.  Your mighty ones who carry out Your plans, listen for each of Your commands.  Lord, everything that You created will praise You; everything in Your Kingdom!   Let all that we are praise You!

All-Wise Father, we decree that just as the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, feared and obeyed You, our healthcare professionals will not succumb to the pressure to compromise; but they remain committed to their oath to “do no harm.” We believe that You are working wonders in the healthcare profession right now. We confess that our healthcare professionals believe in the promises of Your Word, and as they ask You, You will tell them remarkable secrets about things to come in their profession. They will be pioneers in discovering cures and medical breakthroughs for our generation. We decree that the health professionals in our Church Family will seek Your wisdom and knowledge and always pursue excellence in their chosen fields.  They are dedicated to the proper care and treatment of all their patients and they will remember to show their patients mercy, just as You have shown mercy to them.

Now, ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of the names of those you know in the healthcare field and pray for their specific needs:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, remind our health professionals not to trust in human wisdom; but in the power of God. Please comfort the hearts of those who have recently lost a patient who was under their care. Help them to heal from the emotional wounds that come along with their jobs. Give them the boldness they need to stand up for their patients’ rights and to contribute significantly to the pursuit of healthcare reform in our country. Remind our healthcare professionals that they represent the Kingdom of God in the healthcare industry, so their demeanor and behavior should reflect Kingdom principles. Please continue to bless the covenant partnerships that our ministries have formed with the medical community, including Texas Children’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson and TIRR Memorial Hermann.  May we continue to work together to bring the best healthcare to more underserved communities.

Beloved Father, forgive those among our healthcare professionals who have been prideful and arrogant, taking Your glory for themselves. Forgive those who have been more concerned with financial gain than being a servant. Forgive those who have neglected to do their jobs in excellence and who have placed the lives of others in jeopardy by cutting corners and taking shortcuts. Forgive those who have failed to show compassion while working with the loved ones of their patients. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our healthcare professionals of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our healthcare professionals not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Glory, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth. Your right hand spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they all appear in order.  You alone can never die and You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No human eye has ever seen You, nor ever will. All honor and power is Yours forever, Lord!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

July 8: A Prayer for Healthy, Happy Marriages in the Body of Christ

Exalted Father, thank You for Your great love that continues from generation to generation!  Thank You for the married couples in the Body of Christ.  Thank You for encouraging and blessing our marriages.  With our whole being we praise You. We rejoice in knowing that You are our God, and that we are the people You watch over and the flock under Your care. Thank You, Lord!  We bless Your holy Name!  We stand in awe of You and Your unfailing love for us. You are the Master who motivates our hearts toward all that is good. We acknowledge Your sovereignty over our marriages. We will sing a new song to You, Lord, for the wonderful deeds You have done. We shout with joy and worship You with gladness.  We come before You singing with joy.  You are the Lord, our Father, who made us and we are Yours!

Holy Spirit, as the Body of Christ, we expect You to lead us into all truth as it pertains to the covenant of marriage. We confess that our married couples are never subject to the spirit of fear; but they have power, love and self-discipline to help them keep their covenant pure. Lord, we confess that our husbands will live with their wives according to knowledge and they will cherish them as the manifested gift of God’s favor. We declare that our wives will honor their husbands and will adorn themselves as Sarah did, not with material elegance, but with a quiet and peaceful spirit which You love, Lord God.  As the Body of Christ, we confess that our married couples will daily aspire to the greater love that Jesus personified and live a servant’s life before one another. We declare that they will provoke one another to good works and celebrate one another’s gifts. We confess that they will commit to encourage and build one another up in the Lord!

Holy Spirit, help each spouse to keep a heart of unconditional love for their mate. Reveal creative ways for our married couples to love and enjoy each other. Heal wounds and hurts and rejoin marriages that seem to be walking down separate paths. Teach them to freely issue mercy and to forgive quickly without allowing grudges to form.  Magnify the model of marriage through those who have healthy marriages, so that others are inspired and encouraged.  Anoint their unity together as husbands and wives, so that their children will be given stability and assurance, and the unsaved will be given hope concerning the sanctity of marriage. Re-light the passion and fire for those who are struggling sexually and emotionally. When our married couples speak of one another, whether in public or private, please season their tongues with grace. Help our married couples to stay committed to truth and to cover one another’s weaknesses with unyielding love.

Father, as a spouse, I commit to making my marriage better by:

Father, as a single person, I commit to praying for the following marriage(s):

Holy Father, forgive our married couples for being too stubborn to offer grace and mercy to their spouses when they should have.  Forgive those who have neglected their commitment to their spouse, sexually, emotionally and relationally. Where those couples have grown cold-hearted, make their hearts tender toward their spouses. Forgive them for the times they’ve become so distracted with the cares of this world that they have neglected their responsibility to one another. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our married couples of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Awesome Father, help our married couples not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

We worship You, O Great Deliverer! All praise belongs to You. You are the Lord God of Israel who alone does such wonderful things.  We will praise Your glorious Name forever.  Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory, in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Before you go, can we pray for you?
