August 5: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts. You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born. Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken. You are an awesome God!

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas. Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured. We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety. You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing. We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going. In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage. As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

Holy Spirit, help the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers to heal. Help them to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years. Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits. Please send people who will love, support, and comfort them. God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to the Dallas officers who are in the hospital or recovering at home. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted in their souls. Holy Spirit, comfort all citizens of America. Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger, and unforgiveness. Let Your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition, and misunderstanding.

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity. Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent. Father, please have mercy on our country. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. Magnificent Lord, when You spoke, the world began! It appeared at Your command. You look down from heaven and see the whole human race. From Your throne, You observe all who live on the earth. O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

July 25: A Prayer for Physical Healing and Deliverance

Glorious Father, we thank You for salvation. Thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to break the power of the devil and to bring us hope, health, and healing. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit, to comfort and empower us. We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds. Lord, You are good and Your unfailing love endures forever. You are great and You perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God.

Awesome Father, You brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and powerful arm. Jesus Christ, Your Son, turned water into wine, cleansed lepers, healed the sick, raised the dead, and fed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples so that we would believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His Name. We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of those people who are in need of healing and deliverance. With You, nothing is impossible. We expect diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and souls to be set free. As we pray for those in need of healing and deliverance, we confess that Your power will operate through us.

Righteous Father, please help us to be bolder about praying for healing and deliverance. Help those in need of healing and deliverance to trust in You with all of their heart and not depend on their own understanding. Holy Spirit, please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will understand the confident hope given to those Christ has called. Remind people to look to You for help, strength, and power. Father, cause Your awesome power to be experienced throughout our church and community.

Merciful Father, forgive those people who have doubted Your Word and Your works. Forgive them for acting Godly, but denying Your power to perform healings, signs and wonders in their lives and in the lives of others. Lord, please forgive them and restore to them the joy of Your salvation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Royal Lord, You are the Almighty! Only You can open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. You cause the lame to leap like deer and those who cannot speak to sing for joy. You cause springs to gush forth in the wilderness and streams to water the wasteland. You cause the parched ground to become a pool and springs of water to satisfy the thirsty land. July 19: A Prayer for Emotional Healing for Those Who Are Overcoming the Death of a Loved One

Redeeming Father, we thank You for the emotional healing of those whose loved one(s) have gone on to be with You. Thank You for the impact that they had on their lives. Thank You, Jesus, for leaving them with a gift – Your peace of mind and heart. We are thankful to You and we bless Your Name. Father, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. The whole world shall know what You have done. We will sing praises to You. We will tell every one of Your wonderful deeds. You are our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. We will sing to You as long as we live. We will praise You to our last breath!

Merciful Father, we decree emotional healing for those who are overcoming the death of a loved one. Although they are grieving, they will put their hope in You, God! They will praise You again – as their Savior and their God! Father, they will trust Your Word. We declare that You are with them; they will not be discouraged, for You are their God. Your Word says that You will strengthen them and help them. You will hold them up with Your victorious right hand. Your Name, Lord, is a strong fortress; the Godly run to You and are safe. We decree that bereavement will last only for a short time and joy will replace sorrow.

Holy Spirit, help me to become more sensitive to the needs of those around me who are in mourning and show me how I can be an encouragement to them:

Holy Spirit, when we see our brother or sister mourning the death of a loved one, help us to be compassionate, but also to encourage him or her with God’s Word of hope and peace. Bring scriptures to our remembrance that will help to bring solace to our brother or sister. Remind us to care for the physical needs of those who are in mourning, with food, transportation, child care or any other material thing that may be needed. Help us to be patient and to not be insensitive to their pain. Holy Spirit, when we are grieving as well, comfort us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.

Gracious Father, when others are grieving, forgive us for being impatient as time goes on after a death. Forgive us when we utter unkind words, making light of someone else’s pain at the death of a loved one. Forgive us for not taking care of the physical or emotional needs of others who have suffered loss. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who are overcoming the death of a loved one of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. Almighty God, the heavens proclaim Your glory! The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night, they make You known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard, yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

July 13: A Prayer for the Greater Houston Area

Omniscient Father, we thank You for the Greater Houston Area. Thank You for our city officials, first Responders, public works employees and everyone who helps with the day-to-day operation of this city. Thank You for the citizens of this great city. You are great and greatly to be praised. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Lord, Your works are wonderful. You are our hope and shield. In You, do our hearts rejoice because we trust in Your holy Name. Let Your unfailing love continue to surround us Lord, for our hope is in You alone.

Lord God our Shepherd, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in the Greater Houston Area as it is in heaven. As citizens of this great city, we do not see Jew or Gentile, male or female, black or white. But, as Your children, we have all put on Christ, like putting on new clothes and we will walk in unity and love with one another. It is because of this love that we exhibit for each other that people will know that we are Your disciples. Your Word tells us that if we love You, we must also love our brothers and sisters in Christ. Therefore, we declare by faith that the Body of Christ in Houston, Texas will no longer stand and declare our love for You with hate in our hearts for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We will not look out only for our own interests, but we take an interest in the needs of others. We will live in harmony with each other and resist racial, social, and economic division. We will be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. We declare that the people in our communities will turn away from evil, and do good; they will search for peace and work to maintain it.

Holy Spirit, remove the scales from the eyes of the unsaved people in our city and draw them to the glory of the Father so that they will confess Jesus Christ and receive Him as their Savior and Lord. Mobilize and send us and other believers into our communities to share the Gospel, causing Your power to prevail throughout our city. Holy Spirit, please help the residents of this city to stand for justice and righteousness. Lord, please help the leaders of our city. We ask that Your Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power rests upon each political, civic, religious and business leader, investor, and entrepreneur in our city. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will and give them a thirst for Your Word, so that they will walk in Your ways for practicing business. Help them to make righteous decisions and operate with honesty and integrity. Holy Spirit, synchronize the hearts of every believer in our city and unify our spirits to receive and submit to Your vision for our city. Holy Spirit, bless the Greater Houston Area to be a beacon of light and hope for the nation.

Most Holy Father, thank You for all of our disabled veterans. We thank You for their unstoppable spirit and loyal service to The United States of America. Thank You for Your hand of grace which has preserved their lives. What awesome miracles You perform for Your people! Our lives are in Your hands and You keep our feet from stumbling. You have tested us and purified us like silver. We glorify Your wonderful Name. Your faithfulness to Your children is never-ending. We are grateful to belong to You. Your salvation surrounds us like city walls and praise flows from the lips of all those who enter Your presence. You are our everlasting light and glory.

Almighty Father, we decree that the disabled veterans in our Church Family are the apple of Your eye. You are faithful to them and have delivered them from the wicked with Your sword. We confess that they are Your treasured ones whose hunger You always satisfy. We declare that their children have plenty and they will leave an inheritance for their descendants. We decree that when our disabled veterans are surrounded by troubles, You will protect them from the anger of their enemies. The power of Your right hand saves them. We declare that You will work out Your plans for their lives. Because of Your faithful, enduring love they are never abandoned, for you made them. It was nobody but You who redeemed their lives and snatched them from the power of the grave. We declare over them that despite physical loss, they are overwhelmingly victorious through Christ, who loves them. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither their fears for today nor their worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate them from Your love, Father.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the needs of the following disabled veterans today:

Holy Spirit, please encourage and uplift the hearts of those disabled veterans who feel lost, unappreciated, and rejected. Save those who don’t know the Lord Jesus in the pardon of their sins. Please help our Church Family to embrace our disabled veterans with love and honor for their sacrifices on our behalf. Help us to incorporate them into the ministry, encouraging them to use their gifts to Your glory. We ask you to lead and guide President Barack Obama, and our military and congressional leaders to develop and implement effective programs that will aid in sheltering our homeless veterans, providing proper mental and physical healthcare to them, and supplying them with fair funding for their continued education. Let the peace that comes from Christ rule in the hearts of our disabled veterans. May they always be thankful. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill their lives.

Gracious Father, forgive the sins of our disabled veterans. Forgive those who are so scarred with disappointment and confusion that they reject Your love. Forgive those who have not been obedient to follow the instructions of their physicians. Forgive them for purposely neglecting their mental and physical health needs. Forgive those of us, Lord, who have ignored and abandoned our disabled veterans. Forgive us for not honoring them for their service to our nation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our disabled veterans of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. Magnificent Lord, You are a warrior. Yahweh is Your name! Your right hand is glorious in power. It smashes the enemy. In the greatness of Your majesty, You overthrow those who rise against You. The strong right arm of the Lord is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 28: A Prayer for Persons with Renegade Blood Disorders

Righteous Father, we thank You, for sending Your Word to heal us, and for snatching us from the power of death. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for shedding Your blood so that people may be healed. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering the Word to provide healing when we speak it. Father, we praise and honor Your Name. Your Name is the Lord and we will rejoice before You. You have been our home through all generations. We praise You, Lord God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures.

Immortal Father, we pray for all persons with renegade blood disorders such as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Sickle Cell Anemia, Lupus, Hypertension, and Hemophilia. Lord, today, we apply Your Word to these blood-related diseases and we are expecting miracles. Lord Jesus, You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. Therefore, by Your wounds, (speak the names) are healed. According to the authority that You have given us to heal the sick and cast out demons, we command Your Word to be operative in the blood cells of every person who is experiencing blood disorders. Lord, we command their blood circulatory systems to operate perfectly. We command their lungs, hearts and organs to function correctly as designed by You. We command their red blood cells to carry the appropriate levels of oxygen throughout their bodies and their white blood cells to form a protective shield against all foreign bodies. Lord, we confess that as each person pays attention to Your Word, and lets it penetrate deep into their hearts, the Word will bring life to them and healing to their whole body. Lord, we are expecting their health to be restored. Yes Father, we are expecting miracles!

Holy Spirit, we ask You to touch the hearts of those persons who have not confessed Jesus Christ, to confess Him as their Savior and Lord. Please give strength to those who are weak, and increase power to those who have no might. Lord, please give wisdom to the practitioners who provide medical treatment. Regardless of their relationship with You, please work through them for the sake of those who are suffering. Holy Spirit, please remind those who are battling with their health to take Your Word daily; just as they would take their prescribed medicine. Remind them to eat healthy foods and to get the proper rest. Help those persons who are struggling with receiving help to accept the kindness of others. Holy Spirit, please help them to guard their hearts and minds from doubt and unbelief. Please give them comfort, and help them to walk by faith.

Loving Father, forgive those persons who are battling with renegade blood disorders for all acts of sinfulness. Please forgive the sins and iniquities of their forefathers. Forgive each person for worry, fear and for walking in doubt and disobedience. Forgive those who do not diligently seek after You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those persons with blood disorders of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Eternal Lord, You are greater than we can understand. Your years cannot be counted. King, You created the heavens and stretched them out. You created the earth and everything in it. You give breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. The Lord, that is Your Name! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 25: A Prayer for Healing and Deliverance from Cancer

Faithful Father, we are thankful for Jesus, the Living Word, who is seated at Your right hand. We give thanks to You, Lord, for You are good. Your faithful love endures forever. Who can list Your glorious miracles, Lord? We give thanks to You, Jesus, for You took our sicknesses and removed our diseases. We give thanks to You for You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross, and freed us from the bondage of death. By Your wounds, we were healed. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your power that brings healing to our bodies and souls. Father, we will exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever and ever. Daily, we will praise You, for You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness. We will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; we will proclaim Your greatness.

Glorious Father, You are our Healer, and Your Word declares everyone who calls on Your Name will be saved. By the authority in Your Name, we decree that all forms and types of cancer within the bodies of Your people will no longer have dominion. We decree that no weapon formed against the spiritual and physical bodies of Your people will prosper. We cancel the devil’s assignments to destroy their bodies with carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and all forms of cancer, including the central nervous system. We declare that all malignant and abnormal cells are dying; they are no longer dividing and spreading through the blood or lymph systems. We trust in You, our God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing; therefore, we declare life and restoration into their bodies. By faith, we boldly command complete healing of the immune system in the bodies of Your children. Lord, we decree that You are their light and salvation, so they will not be afraid. You are their fortress, their protection from danger, so they will not tremble. We command peace to be still in their lives as they are being made whole by the miraculous power of God.

Holy Spirit, please help those who are overcoming cancer to set their hope on You so that they will continue to obey God’s commands and not forget His glorious miracles. Continue to use all health professionals as instruments of healing; through the practice of medicine, prayer offered in faith, the laying on of hands and other means of healing that You have ordained. Give researchers divine insight into the causes, diagnoses and treatment of cancers. Strengthen those persons who are suffering with these conditions in their bodies, and help them to live out their faith in You. Increase their endurance and patience as they walk through the healing process. Fill them with Your presence and remind them that You will never fail or abandon them. Daily remind them that there is nothing too hard for God and with Him, everything is possible. Surround them with Your peace as they undergo chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery or other cancer treatment methods. Touch the hearts of family members to provide an atmosphere of faith, hope and love. Please help to provide the adequate finances, transportation, food, clothing and shelter. Holy Spirit, teach us all how to live in Your Kingdom and to treat our bodies as Your temple; remind us to eat healthy, exercise and sleep enough hours so that our bodies fully recover from the day’s activities.

Forgive us for ungodly behavior including: unforgiveness, bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Forgive our nation for creating unhealthy conditions in our food supply and environment. We confess our sinfulness for we have not always obeyed Your commandments and lived faithfully in Your Word. Have mercy upon us according to Your Word. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. All glory, majesty, power and authority belong to You before all time, in the present and beyond all time. You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. Heaven is Your throne and the earth is Your footstool. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
