A Prayer for Physical Healing (Mid-Month)

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 145:3-21, James 5:13-16

Reflections of the Heart:

Jesus personally carried our sins in His body on the cross, so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.  By His wounds (stripes), we are HEALED! I Peter 2:24

Scriptural Prayer:

Righteous Father, we thank You, for sending Your Word to heal us, and for snatching us from the power of death.  Thank You, Jesus, for shedding Your blood so that people may be healed. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering the Word to provide healing when we speak it.  Father, we praise and honor Your Name. Your Name is Lord and we will rejoice before You. You have been our home through all generations. We praise You, Lord God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.  Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures.

Lord Jesus, You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.  Therefore, by Your wounds, we are healed. According to the authority that You have given us to heal the sick, we command Your Word to be operative in our bodies.  Lord, we command our cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, exocrine, lymphatic, immune, muscular, skeletal, nervous, renal, urinary, reproductive, respiratory and sensory systems to operate perfectly.  We command our red blood cells to carry the appropriate oxygen throughout our bodies and our white blood cells to form a protective shield against all sicknesses. Your Word will penetrate deep into our hearts and bodies.

If you are personally experiencing sickness, declare this Word over your life today.  If you are not, maintain your health by daily declaring Healing Scriptures that can be downloaded from https://www.prayerinstitute.com/prayer/model-prayers/healing.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to strengthen those of us who are weak and increase power to those who have no might.  Remind those of us who are battling with illnesses to confess Your Word daily; just as we would take prescribed medicine.  Give medical practitioners wisdom to provide effective treatment. Remind us all to eat healthy foods, exercise and get the proper rest.  Help those who are struggling with receiving help to accept the kindness of others. Holy Spirit, please help them to guard their hearts and minds from doubt and unbelief.  Holy Spirit, please give us all comfort and help us to walk by faith.

Loving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including worry, fear and for walking in doubt and disobedience.  Forgive those who do not diligently seek after You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Lord, You are greater than we can understand.  Your years cannot be counted. You draw up the water vapor and distill it into rain.  Only You know where the light comes from and where darkness goes. You direct the movement of the stars, binding the cluster of the Pleiades and loosening the cords of Orion.  Holy and triumphant is Your Name! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer for Our Senior Adults

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 16:5-11, Titus 2:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:

Our elders have seen things we couldn’t even imagine and survived things we could never comprehend facing.  They are filled with wisdom and experience that our society needs. Take some time to pray for the senior adults in your life.  Let us not forget them.

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for our senior adults.  Thank You for blessing each day of their lives. Thank You for blessing them with an abundance of Your wisdom and knowledge.  Thank You for providing for their spiritual, emotional, financial and physical needs. Loving Father, we praise Your Name. We praise You because You are good.  We will celebrate Your lovely Name with music. We know Your greatness and that You, our Lord, are greater than any other god. Your Name, O Lord, endures forever; Your fame is known to every generation.  You are righteous in everything that You do; You are filled with kindness. You are close to all who call upon You in truth. You grant the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cries for help and rescue them.  We praise You, Lord; may everyone on earth bless Your holy Name forever and ever.

Eternal Father, we confess that the older men in the Body of Christ will exercise self-control, are worthy of respect and live wisely. They have strong faith and are filled with love and patience. We declare that our senior women are honorable and righteous. They are not slanderous or heavy drinkers. Instead, we confess that they will teach others what is good; they will train the younger women in the Body of Christ to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands.  We decree that our senior men are models of God’s strength and faithfulness and they will teach our young men to respect authority, provide for their wives and children, live wisely, lead with compassion and fairness, and love their wives like Christ loves the church. We declare that our senior adults will continue to flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. Even in old age, they will still produce fruit and remain vital and green.

Holy Spirit, we know that some of our senior adults are lonely; please help us to reach out to them and surround them with the love of the Father.  Impress upon their family members to come and visit them and spend quality time with them. Please help us to identify those seniors who have isolated themselves and show us how to effectively meet their needs.  Lord, our seniors have worked hard all of their lives and some of them have seen their retirement funds depleted. Please open up new revenue streams so that they will not have to struggle or go without financially.  Father, protect our seniors from those who would try to prey upon them with get-rich-quick schemes, unnecessary mediation, predatory loans or any other schemes to steal from them. Increase our seniors’ discernment and wisdom when they make decisions, especially where their health and finances are concerned.  Remind our younger generations to regard our seniors with honor and respect.

Write down the names of the seniors that you know.  Now, write down ways that you can enrich or bless their lives:

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, forgive us as a nation for disregarding and disrespecting our senior adults.  Forgive us for viewing seniors as feeble and disposable. Forgive those seniors who don’t depend completely upon You, but look at their circumstances.  Forgive those who have allowed life to cause them to grow bitter and angry. Forgive those who do not check on or intentionally do not spend time with their older relatives. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our seniors of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, remind our senior adults not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, there is no one like You!  You are great, and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone! All glory majesty, power and authority are Yours before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Healing for Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalms 93, John 5:1-11

Reflections of the Heart:

“My trust in God flows out of the experience of his loving me, day in and day out, whether the day is stormy or fair, whether I’m sick or in good health, whether I’m in a state of grace or disgrace. He comes to me where I live and loves me as I am.”  ~ Brennan Manning

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace.  Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to bring hope, health and healing to families.  We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds.   Lord, You are good and Your unfailing love endures forever. How great are Your signs and how powerful are Your wonders.  You will be with us forever, You will watch over all our generations. Lord, You are high above all the nations. Your glory is higher than the heavens.  Who can be compared with You, our God, who is enthroned on high.

Awesome Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of families who are in need of healing.  With You, nothing is impossible. We expect their diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and souls to be set free.  As we pray for families in need of healing, we confess that Your healing power will operate through each man, woman and child. By faith, we declare that they will pay attention to Your Word and listen carefully to it.  They will not lose sight of it. They will let it penetrate deep into their hearts. As they do this, Your Word will bring life and healing to their whole bodies.

Holy Spirit, please help families to be bolder about praying for healing.  Help those in need of healing to trust in You with all their hearts and not depend on their own understanding. Empower the heads of the household to set the example of prayer in the home.  Righteous Father, please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will comprehend the confident hope given to those Christ has called. Remind the children and adults to look to You for help and strength when they pray for their parents. Father, cause Your healing power to be experienced throughout each family member.

Merciful Father, forgive families for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those who act Godly but deny Your power to perform healings, signs and wonders in their lives.  Lord, please forgive and restore to them the joy of Your salvation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Royal Lord, You are the Almighty!  Only You can open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.  You cause the lame to leap like deer and those who cannot speak to sing for joy. You cause springs to gush forth in the wilderness and streams to water the wasteland.   You cause the parched ground to become a pool and springs of water to satisfy the thirsty land. Great and awesome is Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for salvation, the greatest miracle of all. Thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. Awesome Father, You brought Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and powerful arm.  Jesus Christ, Your Son, turned water into wine, cleansed lepers, healed the sick, raised the dead, and fed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread.  Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples so that we would believe that He is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in His Name. We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.  Therefore, Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of those people who are in need of healing and deliverance. With You, nothing is impossible. We expect diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and souls to be set free.  As we pray for those in need of healing and deliverance, we confess that Your power will operate through us.

October 5: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born.  Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken.  You are an awesome God.

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas.  Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured.  We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety.  You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing.  We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going.  In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage.  As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity.  Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent.  Father, please have mercy on our country.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

September 29: A Prayer for Wives Who are Desiring To Get Pregnant

Our Father, we thank You for the blessing of children and family. Thank You for each wife who stands in faithful expectancy of a child to hold in her arms. Thank You for Your creative power which is able to open closed wombs and cause them to thrive with new life. We will praise You, Lord, with all our hearts. We will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. We will be filled with joy because of You, and we will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High. May Your glorious Name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!

Exalted Father, we believe that just as You were attentive to Hannah’s pleas for help, You hear the cries of every wife who longs to become a mother. We, the Body of Christ, declare that their prayers will not go unanswered, for You promised that You would withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. We confess that these wives will not grow weary and lose hope. In Jesus Name, we declare that bodies of each husband and wife in the Body of Christ are whole and complete, lacking nothing. We confess that they have victory over doubt, fear, and unbelief. We believe that You will connect them with those people who will love and support them as they trust You for children of their own. We decree that they will be parents who are full of wisdom and patience. They will train their children up in the way they should go, and when their children are old they will not depart from it. These expectant couples will do all they can to nurture their marriages so that the atmosphere of their home will be ready to receive children into a loving, peaceful environment.

List the names of any wives you know who desire to have a child and pray for them by name today:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would prompt the wives who are desiring to get pregnant to disconnect from any negative influences in their lives. Lead them to develop strong, healthy relationships with faith-filled believers who will stand in agreement with them and their husbands. Teach them how to take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. Help them to rest and trust in the Father’s perfect timing. Keep them from becoming envious of others who have already conceived a child. Heal their hearts and deliver them from any guilt or shame they may be feeling. Help their husbands to show compassion and be patient and understanding toward them as they wait to conceive. Once they do conceive, strengthen them against the temptation to worship or overindulge their children. May they always be thankful and give glory to God, keeping Him first in their lives.

Loving Father, forgive the wives who desire to get pregnant of any known or unknown acts of disobedience. Forgive the wives and husbands for any past sins they may have committed. Forgive them for holding unforgiveness in their hearts toward others. Forgive them for giving in to frustration, anger, or outbursts of wrath. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the wives and husbands of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help the wives and husbands who desire to get pregnant to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for You? You are mighty, but You do not despise anyone. You are mighty in both power and understanding. You are greater than we can understand. Your years cannot be counted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

September 13: A Prayer for People Overcoming the Death of a Loved One

All praise to You, God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! You are our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. We will sing to You as long as we live. We will praise You to our last breath! Father, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. The whole world shall know what You have done. We will sing Your praises to You. We will tell everyone of Your wonderful deeds. We thank You, Father, for sending us Your Son, for in Him we have great hope.  Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in Him will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in Him and believes in Him will never die! We are so grateful that when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” Thank You, Lord Jesus, for taking on human form so that You can understand what we experience.  Thank You for leaving us with a gift – Your peace of mind and heart. We thank You, Father, for the life of our loved one(s) who has gone on to be with You. Thank You for their time on earth and the impact they had on our lives. We are thankful to You and we bless Your Name.

Merciful Father, so why are we discouraged? Why are our hearts so sad? We will put our hope in You, God! We will praise You again – our Savior and our God! Abba, Father, You saw Your one and only Son, whom You love, die on the cross. So You must understand why we mortals have such a difficult time overcoming the death of a loved one. Father, we
do trust Your Word. We proclaim that our family and friends who have experienced the death of a loved one will not be afraid, for You are with them; not be discouraged, for You are their God. Your Word says that You will strengthen them and help them. You will hold them up with Your victorious right hand. Your Name, Lord, is a strong fortress; the godly
run to You and are safe. We declare that it is by Your great mercy that we have been born again, because You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for us, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. So we decree that bereavement will last only for a short time and joy will replace sorrow.

Holy Spirit, when we see our brother or sister mourning the loss of a loved one, help us to be compassionate but also to edify him or her with God’s Word of hope and peace. Bring to our remembrance Scriptures which will help to bring solace to help our brother or sister know what will happen to the believers who have died. As we do this, we trust that You will help them so they will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with Him the believers who have died.  Help us to encourage each other with these words. Remind us to care for the physical needs of families in mourning, with food, transportation, child care or any other material thing that may be needed. Help us to be patient and to not be insensitive to those in pain. Holy Spirit, when we are grieving as well, comfort us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.

Holy Spirit, help me to become more sensitive to the needs of those around me who are in mourning and show me how I can be an encouragement to them:

Gracious Father, when death comes to those we love, we will not tear our clothing in our grief, but will tear our hearts instead. We will return to You, our God, for You are merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to relent and not punish. When we are grieving, Father, forgive us for concentrating on what we see with our eyes rather than what we believe in our hearts. When others are grieving, forgive us for being impatient as time goes on after a death. Forgive us when we utter unkind words, making light of someone else’s pain at the loss of a loved one. Holy Spirit, chasten us if we are not taking care of the physical or emotional needs of a person who has suffered loss. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind those who are overcoming the death of a loved one of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, the heavens proclaim Your glory! The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night, they make You known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. You are awesome in Your sanctuary, Lord God.  We pray in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen!

August 28: A Prayer for Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Personnel

Merciful Father, we thank You for the men and women who serve as police officers, firefighters and emergency first responders. Thank You for empowering them spiritually, mentally, psychologically and physically for the trauma that they face daily.  Thank You for being their strength and their hope. You are awesome in Your sanctuary.  God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your people. Praise be to You, God! May all who are Godly rejoice in You, Lord, and praise Your holy Name! Let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. We give thanks to You who made the heavens so skillfully. Your faithful love endures forever. We give thanks to You who placed the earth among the waters.  Your faithful love endures forever.

Today, we stand in the gap for our police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel.  We declare God’s protection and provision over their lives.  In Jesus’ Name, we declare that no weapon turned against them will succeed.  Every voice which rises up to accuse them will be silenced. As they go out on emergency calls, we confess that You will order Your angels to protect them wherever they go.  Your angels will hold them up with their hands so they will not hurt their foot on a stone. By faith, we confess that the public servants who are called by Your Name, Father, will love You with all of their hearts, soul, strength, and mind.  They will find their source of strength in You. We declare that they will consistently seek Your will in all that they do and You will show them which path to take.

Holy Spirit, show me ways in which I may assist the police, fire and emergency medical personnel in my community:

Holy Spirit, as the first responders seek You for wisdom, please reveal any snares, traps or pitfalls that may lay ahead of them and show them how to circumvent these dangers. Help all first responders remain focused when they respond to an emergency. Help them to all work together as a well-oiled machine.  Remind them to be their brother or sister’s keeper. Calm the fears of their loved ones, especially young children. Help the family members to trust You for the safety of their loved ones. Comfort the families of those first responders who have died. Holy Spirit, remind those first responders who are Believers to always be joyful, never stop praying and to be thankful in all circumstances.  Remind the citizens of our great city to be mindful of our first responders; to follow their instructions, pray for them and to be appreciative of the commitment that these men and women have made to our city.

Merciful Father, forgive our police, fire and emergency personnel for their sins.  Forgive them for any injustice within the respective departments. Forgive us as a city for failing to recognize first responders until a tragedy occurs.   Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are great.  How deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on Your mountain! As Your Name deserves, O God, You will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory.  God Almighty, You reign forever and ever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

August 16: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born.  Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken.  You are an awesome God!

List the names of at least 3 people who died through senseless shootings in America.  Include their families in this prayer: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers to heal.  Help them to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years.  Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits.  Please send people who will love, support, and comfort them.  God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to the Dallas officers who are in the hospital or recovering at home.  Heal the wounds that have been inflicted in their souls.  Holy Spirit, comfort all citizens of America.  Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger, and unforgiveness.  Let Your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition, and misunderstanding.

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Magnificent Lord, when You spoke, the world began! It appeared at Your command. You look down from heaven and see the whole human race. From Your throne, You observe all who live on the earth. O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
