A Declaration for Justice

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being the just Judge. Thank You for hearing us when we call to You for help for our nation. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice and righteousness in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts. Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory to Your Name forever! Lord, You have rescued us from the depths of death. We will sing of Your unfailing love forever. Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within our judicial system in America. Your Word says that justice and righteousness are more acceptable to You than sacrifice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. We confess that justice and righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and communities. You are the Lord who loves all of humankind; You are no respecter of persons. Lord, You created us in Your image and it is Your desire that we, Your creation, love each other as we love ourselves. Lord, we believe that You will raise us above the injustices of racism that our nation has witnessed lately. And because Your Spirit dwells within us, the Body of Christ, we confess that we will walk in righteousness and integrity. We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay back evil with more evil, but we will always do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are honorable.

Holy Spirit, as I watch the news, show me how to pray about the injustices in our nation:

Holy Spirit, please help our nation to heal from the wounds that the instances of injustice have inflicted on the American people. Remind the members of the Body of Christ to not sin by letting anger control them. Grant each of us the desire and commitment to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice or partiality. Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in Your Spirit and not in their flesh. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about this subject in a way that will not instill fear, anger, or hatred. Holy Spirit, I ask that You search my heart for areas of hidden discrimination or bias and remove it immediately from me.

Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive our nation for its injustice, prejudice, and oppression. Forgive our nation for loving power and things instead of people. Please forgive those persons who are presently practicing racism, sexism, and ageism. As the Body of Christ, we renounce the gods of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive me, Father, for not acknowledging that when I make blanket statements about race, sex, or age that I am discriminating. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Triumphant King, You are greater than any other god. You do whatever You please throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. You cause clouds to rise over the earth. You send lightning with the rain and release the winds from Your storehouses. Your Name, Lord, endures forever, Your fame is known to every generation. November 8: A Presidential Election Day Prayer

Note: Please pray in your prayer language (pray in tongues) for today’s prayer topic. If you do not pray in tongues, then pray the following prayer out loud.

Scriptural Prayer:

Blessed Father, we thank You for our nation, the United States of America. Thank You for the privilege of our democratic form of government. Thank You for leading and guiding us as we elect our President, Vice President, and local, state, and national leaders. Lord, Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are clear and they give us insight for living. We praise You for Your great wisdom. You deserve all glory, honor, and praise forever!

Everlasting Father, Your Word says that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Therefore, as we vote in the election on today, we are trusting You to lead us in making these critical decisions. As we consider our voting options, we will not depend on our own understanding. We are seeking Your will, our Lord, and we believe that You will show us which path to take. Today, we will not be distracted by rhetoric, popular opinion, or sound bites. Using the authority given to us, we call forth Your Kingdom to come and Your divine will be done in the elections today. We confess that the hearts of American voters will be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit, as they vote today. We command peace, be still at every voting poll in the United States. We decree that today’s elections will be conducted in fairness and integrity. In Jesus’ Name, we crush the demonic devices that would stir up strife, confusion, cynicism, and hopelessness among American voters. We command the airwaves to bow to the voice of God. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. We command the weather to be peaceful today, with a perfect balance of sunshine and moderate temperatures.

Holy Spirit, all of us have a presidential preference, however, we ask You to establish Your plans in our country. Expose all lies and deceptive tactics. Position Your angels to watch and guard each polling place. Help all of us to take our responsibility to vote seriously. Remind us all to conduct ourselves with grace and dignity at the polls so that we do not wrongly influence anyone or chide anyone based on perception. May we be models of excellent citizenship at all times. For those citizens who are conflicted in their hearts about whether or not they should vote at all, clarify for them the purpose of their vote and lead them to the polls to vote.

Holy Spirit, today I will vote for the following candidates. Please let me know if my will aligns with Yours:

Wonderful Father, forgive us for not trusting You to lead our country. Forgive those leaders who have plotted to derail the democratic process for personal gain. Forgive those who continually abuse their power and influence. Forgive those American citizens who refuse to exercise their right to vote. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. October 29: A Prayer of Wisdom and Direction for the United States Presidential Elections

One True Living God, we thank You for the United States of America. Thank You for Your grace, favor and mercy that You have shown this great nation over the years. Thank You for allowing our citizens the opportunity to vote for the men and women who will represent us. The earth is Yours Lord, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. Father, You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Your eternal Word stands firm in heaven. Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth You created.

Magnificent Father, voters will elect our next United States of America President and Vice President on Tuesday, November 8th. As the people of God, we come before You now, crying out for wisdom and discernment for all November 8. AS People of registered American voters. We declare that our voters will not be moved or motivated by race, nationality, gender, political alliance, or the media when choosing their candidate for each of these positions. But, they will seek Your will and trust that You will show them which path to take. We decree that wisdom will save the voters from evil people and from those whose words are twisted. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every word that is spoken by the media that does not align with Your will for these campaigns. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. We declare that the democratic process will be implemented fairly and justly throughout our nation during the elections. We cancel every assignment of the enemy to cause division or separation among our citizens of America during the elections.

Holy Spirit, please begin to reveal who You would have me to vote for the next United States of America President and Vice President.

Gracious Father, only You know the true heart of man. Reveal the motives and intents of each candidate. Just as You clearly identified Saul and later David as kings of Israel, please clearly identify who You have chosen to fill these positions. Encourage the voters to fully educate themselves on each position and candidate. Please begin to reveal, even now, any potential poling hindrances that would prevent voters from being able to cast their votes.

Merciful Father, forgive the American voters for not always seeking Your will before casting their votes. Forgive each candidate for any acts of unrighteousness including favoritism, racism, sexism, lying, deceit and manipulation. Forgive the media for partiality and bias. Forgive those in positions of power who may attempt to skew voting results through voter intimidation, unnecessary redistricting, lies or confusion. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the presidential candidates and voting citizens of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. October 4: A Prayer of Wisdom for the United States Presidential Election

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our King, Lord and leader. Thank You for the right to vote. Thank You for the authority to expect change through prayer. Thank You for giving us the wisdom, discernment and knowledge to pray for our nation’s elections. We, Your servants, praise You. We will hold up holy hands in prayer and praise You. Every king in all the earth will thank You, Lord, for all of us will hear Your words. Yes, we will sing about Your ways, for Your glory is very great! You are great. You care for the humble, but keep Your distance from the proud. Lord, You are merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation.

Magnificent Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the upcoming presidential elections. Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity. We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight. In obedience to Your Word, we intercede for the upcoming elections. We decree that the political election process will yield to Your plans. Father, You hold the heart of the king in Your hand and You will turn it in the direction that You choose. We confess and expect that the hearts of the candidates will be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit. We command peace to be still within the presidential elections. We declare that Your plans will prevail and each candidate will address the issues, take the “high road,” and inspire American voters. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves and destroy every word that is spoken by the media that does not align with Your will for these campaigns. We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as I research the candidates for President:

Holy Spirit, please speak to the hearts of the candidates. Continue to increase Your spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, courage, might, and knowledge within them. We do not know what their level of commitment is to You, but we ask You to communicate with them on behalf of Your people. Equip them with everything they need for doing Your will and produce in them, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to You. Convict them, along with their entire staff and volunteers, if they use ungodly campaign tactics or resort to political mudslinging. Confuse the thoughts and messages of those who have disregard for Your Kingdom. Father, dispatch Your angels to guard and protect their families and destroy every assignment that the devil devises against them. Father, we know that nothing is too difficult for You.

Everlasting Father, please have mercy upon us and forgive our nation for its many sins. Forgive us for making “self” the center of our American culture. Forgive each candidate for his sins. Forgive them for trusting in their own abilities instead of trusting in You. Forgive them when they do not consult with You before making decisions or administering their authority and power. Forgive them for the times they have not been fair, compassionate, or understanding as public servants. Forgive them when they are being people pleasers and not God pleasers. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive those American citizens who have not exercised the privilege to vote, yet complain about our country’s leadership.

October 3: A Prayer for Our Political Leaders (local, state, and national)

Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth. Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings. We are grateful, and we bless Your Name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. We praise Your Name, Father, forever and ever. You have all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light.

Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. We pray for President Barack Obama and all state, and national leaders. We pray for Mayor Sylvester Turner, our city council members and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our political leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state and city. We declare that the decisions made by our political leaders will be inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. We destroy the assignments of the devil and we silence the voice of every demonic force.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national political leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes. Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry. Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead. Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing and obedient to Your will. Cause each of their lives to glorify Your Name.

Loving Father, please forgive our local, state and national leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You daily. Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, fornication, homosexuality, perversion, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive us, the body of Christ, for making our political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do not align their agendas with Yours. Forgive those politicians who say they are Christians, but conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word. Father, please have mercy on this nation. September 17: A Declaration of Wisdom and Unity for President Barack Obama, His Administration and Congress

Almighty Father, thank You for blessing our country, the United States of America. Thank You for being patient with our nation despite all the rancor and division. Thank You for continuing to pour out Your Spirit over this nation and advancing Your Kingdom on earth. We appreciate Your loving-kindness and tender mercies. Father, we come singing a new song to You, for You have done wonderful deeds. With all that we are, we will praise You, our Lord and God; for You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens; You lay out the rafters of Your home in the rain clouds. You make clouds Your chariot; You ride upon the wings of the wind.

Righteous Father, Your Word declares that all authority comes from You, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by You. With this in mind, we submit to You our President, his administration and Congress. By faith, we declare that President Barack Obama, and his cabinet and Congress who know You, will trust in You with all of their hearts and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do and as they do this, we trust that You will show them which path to take as they lead and direct this nation. We declare that they will not be impressed with their own wisdom, but instead they will fear You and turn away from evil. Your Word admonishes that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We decree that the members of Congress will work together towards the good of the American people. We declare that they will turn away from division and evil and do good; they will search for peace and work to maintain it.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can pray specifically for President Obama, his administration and Congress:

Triumphant God, please arise in our government and cause Your enemies of racism, partiality, confusion and discord to be scattered. Holy Spirit, please continue to pour Your wisdom, discernment and power into President Obama, his administration and Congress. Continue to surround him and his administration with favor as they conduct business with Congress and world leaders. Please give them Your ideas to conquer the issues that are plaguing our nation including the environment, education, unemployment, economy, healthcare, national security, and the natural disasters that have devastated our nation. Continue to touch the Body of Christ to pray for President Obama and all government leaders so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity.

Righteous Father, please forgive our nation for imperialism, consumerism and a form of capitalism that is oppressive and subversive. Forgive us for idolatry, lying, deceit and character assassination. Forgive us for being self-serving, boastful, proud and arrogant. Forgive us for not acknowledging Your authority and for compromising Your truth. We realize that our sins are many! Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. August 31: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts. You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born. Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken. You are an awesome God.

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas. Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured. We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety. You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing. We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going. In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage. As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

Holy Spirit, help the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers to heal. Help them to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years. Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits. Please send people who will love, support, and comfort them. God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to the Dallas officers who are in the hospital or recovering at home. Heal the wounds that have been inflicted in their souls. Holy Spirit, comfort all citizens of America. Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger, and unforgiveness. Let Your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition, and misunderstanding.

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity. Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent. Father, please have mercy on our country. August 30: A Declaration of Wisdom and Unity for President Barack Obama, His Administration and Congress

Righteous Father, Your Word declares that all authority comes from You, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by You. With this in mind, we submit to You our President, his administration and Congress. By faith, we declare that President Barack Obama, and those individuals within his cabinet and Congress who know You, will trust in You with all of their hearts and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do and as they do this, we trust that You will show them which path to take as they lead and direct this nation. We declare that they will not be impressed with their own wisdom, but instead they will fear You and turn away from evil. Your Word admonishes that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We decree that the members of Congress will work together towards the good of the American people. We declare that they will turn away from division and evil and do good; they will search for peace and work to maintain it.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can continue to pray for President Obama, his administration and Congress:

Triumphant God, please arise in our government and cause Your enemies of racism, partiality, confusion and discord to be scattered. Holy Spirit, please continue to pour Your wisdom, discernment and power into President Obama, his administration and Congress. Continue to surround him and his administration with favor as they conduct business with Congress and world leaders. Please give them Your ideas to conquer the issues that are plaguing our nation including the environment, education, injustice, unemployment, economy, healthcare, national security, and the natural disasters that have devastated our nation. Continue to touch the Body of Christ to pray for President Obama and all government leaders so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness and dignity.

Righteous Father, please forgive our nation for imperialism, consumerism and a form of capitalism that is oppressive and subversive. Forgive us for idolatry, lying, deceit and character assassination. Forgive us for being self-serving, boastful, proud and arrogant. Forgive us for not acknowledging Your authority and for compromising Your truth. We realize that our sins are many! Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind President Obama, His Administration and Congress of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help President Obama, His Administration and Congress not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.
