A Prayer of Faith for Within Families

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 29, Hebrews 11

Reflections of the Heart:

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

ONE Prayer:

Eternal Father, thank You for being in relationship within families.  Thank You for drawing them into Your holy family through the meritorious works of Jesus Christ.  Thank You for creating them to be kings of the King and lords of the Lord. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to lead and guide them on this faith walk.  The heavens proclaim Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship. Lord, families will praise You with their whole hearts, tell of all the marvelous things You have done and be filled with joy because of You.  They will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High!

Dear Lord, as citizens of Your Kingdom, families are righteous people who live by faith.  We decree that they live their lives in faith by believing in You and Your Word, and they are not influenced by things they see with their natural eyes.  They will trust in You with all of their hearts and not depend on their own understanding. Seeking Your will in all that they do and in every situation, they will trust that You will show them which path to take.  They will strip off every weight that slows them down, especially the sin that so easily trips them up. Families will run with endurance the race that You have set before them, keeping their eyes on Jesus, the Champion, who initiates and perfects their faith. They will seek Your Kingdom above all else and live righteously and trust that You will give them everything they need.  As Kingdom citizens, they will trust You with their finances, families, businesses, relationships and all other areas of their lives. Father, their works will reflect the faith that they have in You!

Holy Spirit, how can I pray for families to develop a deeper faith?

Holy Spirit, please help families relinquish control to You. Transform the way they think as they meditate on the Word.  Help them to let their good deeds shine out for all to praise You, our heavenly Father. Empower them to model and teach Kingdom faith to their siblings, children, parents and other family members including other close relationships.  Show them any areas in their lives where their faith may be faltering. Please help those family members who have had so many disappointments, missed opportunities or conflicts in life to stand boldly and walk in their Kingdom authority.

Heavenly Father, please forgive families for all acts of sinfulness including lying, fornication, adultery, idolatry, profanity, deception, drug abuse, and theft.  Forgive them for having more faith in themselves, their jobs, finances, gifts and talents and other people than they do in You. Forgive them for harboring dead faith.  Remind families of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help families not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, all glory belongs to You, who alone are God.  All glory, majesty, power and authority are Yours before all time and in the present and beyond all time!  In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A Declaration of Faith

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 149, Hebrews 11

Reflections of the Heart:

Faith is defined as belief that is not based upon proof.  As Christians, we should have immovable faith in God and His Word. Decide today that absolutely nothing will shake your faith in the promises of our Heavenly Father!

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being in relationship with us.  Thank You for drawing us into Your holy family through the meritorious works of Jesus Christ.  Thank You for creating us to be kings of The King and lords of The Lord. Thank You for sending us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us on this faith walk.  Father, Your way is perfect. All of Your promises prove true. You are a shield to those who look to You for protection. There is no God except You Lord; You are a solid rock.   Lord, we bless You, the One who guides us. We know that You are always with us.

Righteous Father, as citizens of Your Kingdom, we are righteous people who live by faith.  We declare that we will trust in You with all of our hearts and not depend on our own understanding.  We will seek Your will in all that we do and in every situation, we will trust that You will show us which path to take.  We will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. We will seek Your Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, and trust that You will give us everything that we need.  Father God, we will stand on Your Word and put all of our faith and confidence in You because we know that You are not a man that You should lie, nor the son of man that You should repent. As Kingdom citizens, we will trust You with our finances, families, businesses, relationships and every other area of our lives. We confess that our works will reflect the faith that we have in You, our Father.

Holy Spirit, please help each member of our Church Family to relinquish control to You to lead their lives.  Help each member to transform the way they think by meditating on the Word, so that they will embrace and walk in their Kingdom authority and rights.  Help our parents and guardians to model and teach Kingdom faith to their children and youth. Holy Spirit, please show us all those areas in our lives where our faith is faltering and reveal the tools that we need to increase our faith in those areas.  Lord, there are some who have had so many disappointments in life that they have a hard time walking by faith. Please help them to get the help they need to process those disappointments and heal those internal wounds so that they can begin to walk in their Kingdom authority.

Write down those areas that the Holy Spirit reveals to you that you need to increase your faith.  Now, ask Him for a strategy to work on those areas:

October 5: A Prayer for Hope and Healing in America

Our Father, we thank You for Your loving care for the citizens of our nation during this time of grief and despair. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts.  You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born.  Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken.  You are an awesome God.

Loving Father, our country is experiencing the aftermath of the tragic shootings in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Dallas.  Lives have been destroyed. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died and those who have been injured.  We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety.  You are their God and they can trust in You. Lord, Your Name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing.  We confess that even though the families of the victims and those wounded may feel pressure on every side by this tragedy, but they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may feel like life is about to run them over, but they will not be abandoned by You. We recognize that their lives have been knocked down by this crime, but we decree that they will get up and keep going.  In Jesus’ Name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of terrorism, racism, anger, violence, murder and rage.  As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless. We declare that no weapon formed against the citizens of our nation will succeed, and we silence every voice that rises against us all.

List the names of at least 3 people who died through senseless shootings in America.  Include their List the names of at least 3 people who didd through sensless shooting sin America. families in this prayer: ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the five Dallas police officers to heal.  Help them to get through the upcoming days, weeks, months, and years.  Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits.  Please send people who will love, support, and comfort them.  God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to the Dallas officers who are in the hospital or recovering at home.  Heal the wounds that have been inflicted in their souls.  Holy Spirit, comfort all citizens of America.  Guide parents of every ethnicity on how to talk with their children in a way that will not instill hatred, fear, anger, and unforgiveness.  Let Your Truth prevail over prejudice, bias, tradition, and misunderstanding.

Forgiving Father, forgive our nation for all acts of racism, injustice, and insensitivity.  Forgive those who know the truth, but remain silent.  Father, please have mercy on our country.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Magnificent Lord, when You spoke, the world began! It appeared at Your command. You look down from heaven and see the whole human race. From Your throne, You observe all who live on the earth. O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

August 25: A Prayer for Economic Development in Our Community

Almighty God, who created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. You give breath to everyone and life to everyone who walks the earth. We love You and come before You in the Name of Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  We will praise Your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord. We will tell everyone that You alone are just. We praise You, Lord! Father God, we are joyful because we fear You, Lord, and delight in obeying Your commands. We are blessed to be Your children. Father, even though people everywhere talk about recession and foreclosures, we are thankful in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us who belong to Christ Jesus. We offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing
joyfully about Your glorious acts. Father, we thank You for being the source of our supply. We thank You for taking care of us and supplying all of our needs from Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Heavenly Father, we are encouraged that You give prosperity to the poor and protect those who suffer. We proclaim that our children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Lord, we expect business leaders in our community to honor Your Word and live by Your precepts. We command light to shine in the darkness for the godly. We declare that they are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. During the current economic difficulties in our nation and around the world, we claim prosperity for our community. We decree that merchants in our community will not fear bad news; they confidently trust You, Lord, to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted. Yes, we expect the Lord to pour down His blessings. We decree that our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Father, we declare that we will support the businesses of the godly men and women in our community.

Father we lift up to You believers in our community who are providing goods and services in a fair and decent manner and pray that our fellow citizens will do business with them. May they be given favor by governmental and civic agencies so that their enterprises will not be impeded, but will flourish. Holy Spirit, inspire these merchants to deal with residents
in our community fairly. Father, deal with the hearts of business owners in all communities who take advantage of poor and destitute laborers, whether they are fellow Americans or foreigners living in our towns. Empower employees in our area to be diligent, honest and trustworthy and to work to increase their knowledge and productivity. Holy Spirit, show
unscrupulous business people in our community the error of their dealings and touch their hearts to repent and change their business practices. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to You, that You may have mercy on them. Yes, Holy Spirit, help them to turn to God, our Father, for He will forgive
generously. Admonish those in our community who do not support local merchants or who try to exploit their businesses.  Cause them to repent and seek forgiveness.

Holy Spirit, remind me to support businesses in my community which are worthy of my patronage. Make a list of businesses in your community and begin to support them.

Righteous Father, You are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for Your help. Lord, forgive the business owners in our community for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those who have not been diligent in seeking Your leadership for their businesses. Forgive those who do not trust in You and Your business principles; but lean on their own understanding. Forgive those who have compromised Your Word in order to make a profit. Forgive those who have not treated their employees and customers fairly. Forgive those who have not been faithful in giving through tithes and offerings. Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect for the community they live in. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary. O God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your people.  Praise be to You, God! Let all that we are praise You Lord, our God; how great You are! You are robed with honor and majesty. You live from everlasting to everlasting! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

August 19: A Prayer for Our Family Members, Friends, Co-Workers, and Enemies Who are Backsliders or Unbelievers

Our Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and unfailing love. Thank You for providing a way for sinners to be reconciled back to You. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You when You called us. Thank You for extending Your mercy toward us every day. Lord, You are great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension.  We meditate on Your unfailing love as we worship in Your temple.  Your Name will be praised to the ends of the earth. We honor You, as our Lord and Savior.

Awesome Father, it is Your desire that all men be saved and that they come to the knowledge of the truth.  We confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  He is the only door by which people are saved.  We declare that when our unsaved family members, friends and enemies confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, they will be saved.  Father, we declare that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free.  As a Church Family, we gladly take the great commission and go into the world preaching the Good News to everyone You place in our paths.  We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because we know that it is Your power, God, at work saving everyone who believes.  In Jesus’ Name, we will share the Good News at every opportunity that is presented to us.

Compassionate Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in every city, state, country, and continent. Since the harvest is plentiful, please send laborers to proclaim Your Word of salvation to the unsaved. We ask You to save our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers, and enemies.  Surround them with the counsel of the Godly so that they may be washed in the water of Your Word; putting away the old man and putting on the new.  Holy Spirit, as the Word goes forth, please touch the hearts of the unsaved to receive it. Help us, the Body of Christ, to present the Gospel with love, hope and patience.  Father, we ask You to remove the scales from the eyes and circumcise the hearts of those who are in a backslidden state. Like the prodigal child, help them to come to themselves and return to You, their first love.  Holy Spirit, remind them that nothing can ever separate them from God’s love; not death, life, angels, demons,  fears for today or worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love.

List the people that you know who are unsaved or backslidden.  Ask the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to witness to these people.  Trust Him to give you the courage to approach them and the words to say to them.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Everlasting Father, forgive the unsaved and backsliders for not acknowledging You or Your Son.  Forgive them for disobedience, hatred, rebellion, lack of faith, disobedience, and rejection of Your Gospel. Please have mercy upon them and extend Your grace towards them.  Forgive us as a Church Family for not sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people.  Forgive us for being timid and reserved about sharing the Gospel.  Forgive us for not reaching out to those who we know are in a backslidden state.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the unsaved and backsliders of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty.  You are worthy, to receive glory, honor and power.  To You, the blessed, and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light. To You be honor and everlasting power.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
