September 26 : A Prayer for People Seeking Employment

Awesome Father, we thank You for providing employment for us, Your children. Thank You for sustaining those who are in need of a financial breakthrough. Thank You for helping them daily. Thank You, for being our source and our supply. Holy and righteous is Your Name. You are a great God, and a great King above all other gods. You are our God; and we are the people of our pasture, and the flock under Your care. Lord, You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You are our strength and shield, and we trust in You. You help us and our hearts are filled with joy. We burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Holy Father, it is Your will that Your children live healthy, productive, happy, and balanced lives. We confess that as those people who are seeking employment place their trust in You and do good; they will live safely in the land and prosper. They will never let loyalty and kindness leave them. They will tie them around their necks as a reminder; and write them deep within their hearts. Then they will find favor with both You and men, and they will earn a good reputation. Lord, we declare that they will trust in You with all their hearts; and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do, and we believe that You will show them which path to take. In Jesus’ Name, we command the doors of employment to open for our unemployed. We declare that when they receive employment, they will work as if You are their direct supervisor. They will not talk back or steal, but will show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. They will respect authority, walk in integrity and complete a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.

If you know someone who is unemployed or who wants new employment, write down their names and insert their names into this prayer:

Righteous Father, help those who are unemployed to prepare for their new job. Send them help, such as Career Initiative, to consult with them about how to prepare a resume and how to dress and prepare for an interview. Remind them that because they trust in You, they will not lack any good thing. Holy Spirit, please help them to not grow discouraged or frustrated, but help them to continue to remain hopeful and expect their breakthrough to come forth. Father, some need a miracle right now. Please help them. Holy Spirit, for those who have a poor work ethic, help them to improve. Erase any negative perception caused by past work experiences. Holy Spirit, help stretch their income until employment is found.

Merciful Father, forgive those people who demonstrate a poor work ethic. Forgive them for not being on time, leaving early, and wasting time. Forgive those who have not paid their tithes and offerings (consistently), or spent their money unnecessarily. Forgive those for misusing company property. Forgive those who have operated in arrogance, greed, lust, pride, arrogance, and rebellion. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those people who are seeking employment to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations. Who can be compared to You? Who is Your equal? Lord, You are high above all nations. Your glory is above the heavens. Yours is the Kingdom, power, and glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Most Excellent Father, thank You for allowing Your children to dwell in the secret place under Your shadow. Thank You for being our refuge and fortress. You are a Mighty God! Thank You for meeting the needs of those who are currently unemployed. Thank You, Lord, for assuring us, as Your children, that our promotion does not come from any earthly source, but it is You alone who judges who will rise and who will fall. We rest and trust in You because this whole earth and those who dwell in it belong to You. With all that we are, we will praise You. We will never forget the good things that You do for us. Glory To Your Holy Name!

Glorious Father, in Jesus’ Name, we command the doors of favor and opportunity for employment to open for our unemployed brothers and sisters! As a Church Family, we confess that as they seek Your Kingdom above all else and live righteously, You will give them everything they need. We decree that they will not be idle or lazy, wanting much, but doing little. No! They will be diligent and work hard, and will prosper. We declare that our unemployed will not be worried about anything. Instead, they will pray about everything and trust You to meet their needs. They will remain thankful for all You have done in their lives. Even when they are confronted with rejection or negative reports, they will remain confident that You are for them and they will not be fearful of what people will do to them. We confess that they will continually study Your Word and meditate on it day and night. As they do this, they will prosper and succeed in all that they do. We decree that Your favor will surround them as with a shield when they go for interviews.

Holy Spirit, help our unemployed friends and family members (speak the names) to prepare themselves and enhance their skills so that they will be ready when opportunities present themselves. Help them to wait patiently on the Lord and trust Him to guide them to the job He has for them. Enlighten the eyes of their understanding to know their strengths and to find creative ways to highlight their resumes and job applications. Touch the hearts of those who are resistant to change and encourage them to look for new career opportunities. Remove fear and anxiety from their lives. Help (speak the names) to resist pride and to be humble and honest with those who will interview them. Show them how to use sound judgment as they weigh their job offers. Continue to supernaturally meet their day-to-day needs as they continue to pursue employment opportunities. When (speak the names) receive their new jobs, remind them to tithe and to honor You with their wealth and with the best part of everything they produce to show their gratitude to God, our Father.

Merciful Father, please forgive those who have not honored You in the workplace during their past employment. Forgive those who believe the world’s report more than Your report about their future. Forgive those for who have not honored You with tithes and offerings consistently. Father God, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who are seeking employment to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Glorious Father, we thank You for the blessing of employment. Thank You for Your favor that surrounds Your children like a shield. Thank You for Your goodness and mercy which follow closely behind us. Lord, Your Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. You always keep Your promises; You are gracious in all that You do. You help the fallen and lift those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to You in hope; You give them their food as they need it. When You open Your hand, You satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. We bless and praise Your holy Name!

Almighty Father, we declare that Your Word will be operative in the lives of our Church Family members who work in unpleasant environments. We confess that as they commit their works to You, their plans will succeed. Holy Spirit, we declare that our Church Family members who work in unpleasant environments will yield to Your leading and guidance so that they will be empowered to be light in the midst of their dark work environment. They are peacemakers in contentious situations so they will be blessed. Lord, we confess that they will walk uprightly and do what is right so no good thing will be withheld from them. We decree that as employers treat their employees and customers with dignity, fairness and respect; they will be blessed as they endure persecution for doing what is right.

Holy Spirit, I will declare the following scriptural blessing for my employer:

Holy Spirit, please fill our Church Family members who work in unpleasant environments with Your wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power. Give them dreams and visions that exceed their expectations and provide them with the resources they need to successfully accomplish Your purpose(s) for them. As they perform their assigned tasks, help them to always work as unto You. Holy Spirit, help them to be peacemakers in their work environment and to not participate in any negative conversations or behaviors. Father, help their supervisors and managers to communicate and write down the mission, vision and job descriptions and make them plain to their employees so that they can implement it. Help our Church Family members to not grow weary while doing well at their jobs and remind them that they will reap a harvest of blessings if they do not give up.

Merciful Father, forgive the employees and employers who work in unpleasant environments for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those who have not been diligent in seeking Your guidance and leadership in their work places. Forgive those who do not trust in You, but lean to their own understanding. Forgive those who have compromised Your Word in order to make a profit. Forgive those employers who have not treated their employees and customers fairly. Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect for one another. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Sometimes things happen in life that are beyond our control. It is during these trying times that we can rejoice in the knowledge that our God will never leave us nor forsake us. Our relationship with Him allows us to walk through life’s challenges knowing that through the blood of Christ, we are overcomers. Therefore, cast your cares upon Him for He truly does care for you.

Scriptural Prayer:

Father, holy and righteous is Your Name. You are a great God, and a great King, above all other gods. You are our God; and we are the people of our pasture, and the sheep of Your hand. Lord, You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider and we place our trust in You. Thank You for providing employment to Your children. Thanks for sustaining those who are in need of a financial breakthrough. Thank You for helping them daily. Thank You, Father, for being our source and our supply.

Father, it is Your will that Your children live healthy, productive, happy, and balanced lives. We believe that as those persons who are seeking employment seek Your face; You will hear them and deliver them from all their fears. We confess that they will not let mercy and truth get away from them. They will wear them like a necklace; and write them deep within their hearts. Then they will find favor with both You and men, and they will gain a good reputation. Lord, we declare that they will trust in You with all their hearts; and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do, and we believe that You will direct their paths. Father, as they trust You and do good, they will live safely in the land and prosper. In Jesus’ Name, we command the doors of employment to open for our unemployed. We declare that as they receive employment, they will work with enthusiasm, as though they are working for You rather than for man. We decree that those persons who are in need of a financial breakthrough will be still in Your presence and wait patiently for You to act. As they do this, they will not worry about food and clothing, for if You clothe the grass of the field, how much more will You provide for them.

I will take the following steps in seeking employment today by:

A Prayer for God’s Favor Upon Entrepreneurs and the Economic Development in our Community

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 95, John 16:5-15

Reflections of the Heart:

Godly entrepreneurs should be mindful of the seven things the Lord detests which are haughty eyes, lying tongues, hands that kill the innocent, hearts that plot evil, feet that race to do wrong, false witnesses who pour out lies and persons who sows discord among brothers. As entrepreneurs, walk in godly integrity and our communities will reap the benefits.

Scriptural Prayer:

Father, You are God and Your word is true. We extol You as our God and King. We will bless Your name forever and ever. Everyday we will bless You and praise Your name. You are great and greatly to be praised. You are our source, and we place our trust in You. Thank You for providing for our entrepreneurs throughout the years. Thank You, Father, for blessing businesses within our community and opening doors of opportunity that have produced profit and employment. Thank You for the economic development that we have in our community.

Father, we confess Your word to be operative in the lives of our entrepreneurs and in the economic development of our community. Father, we confess that our entrepreneurs are blessed and we expect favor to surround Your people like a shield. We confess that as our entrepreneurs commit their works to You their thoughts will be established. We declare that our entrepreneurs will honor You with their possessions and with the first fruits of all their increases so that their barns will be filled and their vats will overflow with new wine. We declare that whatever they do, they will do it heartily, as to You and not to men. Lord, we confess that as our entrepreneurs walk uprightly, no good thing will be withheld from them. We expect You to look upon the economic development in our community favorably and make our land fruitful. Father, as You continue to bless us, we will be a blessing to the entrepreneurs in our community by frequenting their businesses.

Father, we ask that Your Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power rest on each entrepreneur, investor, and employee. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will and give them a thirst for Your word so that they can learn Your ways for practicing business. Holy Spirit, help them to make righteous decisions and operate with justice and integrity. Give them dreams and visions that exceed their expectations and provide them with the resources they need to successfully accomplish Your purpose for their businesses. Father, encourage potential entrepreneurs to write down Your vision for their business and make it plain in a business plan so that they and their investors can implement it. We ask for the creation of new revenue streams within our community. Touch the public and private sectors to continue to invest into our community. Lord, please continue to bless our community so that it will reflect Your glory and benefit the people living in it.

Holy Spirit, show me what I can do to help improve the economy of my community?:

Lord, You are the King of glory. You are the Lord of hosts. You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
