A Prayer of Love for God and Our Neighbor

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 93, I Corinthian 13

Reflections of the Heart:

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, thank You for loving us despite the way we sometimes act or think.  Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others.  Thank You for helping us to be more loving and compassionate towards others. Lord, we come before You clapping our hands and shouting joyful praise to You.  You are the great King of all the earth. You subdue the nations before us and put our enemies under our feet. Our hearts are confident in You, Father. Because of this confidence, we will sing Your praises. We will wake the dawn with our song, Lord, among all the people.  We will sing Your praises among the nations for Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Glorious Father, as Your dear children, we commit to loving You with all our hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all. In the same spirit, we also commit to loving our neighbors as ourselves. We confess that the Holy Spirit fills and controls us as we commit to doing Your will. We decree that we will be patient and kind instead of acting jealous, boastful, proud or rude.  We will not demand our own way, but we will be considerate of others and their opinions. We will not be irritable or keep a record of being wronged. But we will be joyful and quick to forgive. We commit to living a righteous life. We will be patient and will not return evil with evil. We will let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify You, our Father.

How will you show your love for God and for your neighbor by your actions?

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, reveal to us habits, mindsets and attitudes that prevent us from being truly obedient to the Father.  Help us to not deceive ourselves by thinking we are walking in love while using our tongues to curse those who have been made in the Father’s image. In this world where we are told to put ourselves first, help us to truly put the Father first in our lives, and to esteem our neighbor better than ourselves.

Exalted Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins.  Forgive us for, at times, being irreverent and apathetic towards You.  Forgive us those of us who murmur and complain and do not show our love and appreciation for all that You do for us.  Forgive us when we are impatient with our neighbor. Forgive us for picking and choosing to whom we will show love. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are God alone.  You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its place.  You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos. You are the Lord and there is no other.  You only speak what is true and declare only what is right. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

January 28: A Prayer for Mental Healing

Glorious Father, we thank You for giving us Your peace and joy.  Thank You for providing a life of hope, abundance, and destiny.  Thank You for being our strength in times of weakness. You are great and most worthy of praise. You are to be feared above all gods.  The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean’s depths.  You are the King of glory; the Lord strong and mighty.  You are the Lord, invincible in battle.  O Lord, You have performed many wonders for us.  Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal.  We are grateful that when we, Your people, call to You for help, You hear and rescue us out of our troubles.

Omniscient Father, You said that You would give rest to all who are weary and heavy burdened. Your yoke is easy and Your burdens are light.  We are supposed to trust in You with all of our hearts and not depend on our own understanding.  We are to seek Your will in all that we do and You will show us which path to take.  You are the God who will bring rest to our souls.  We trust in Your Word and believe that Your Word will be operative in the hearts and souls of those with mental illnesses.  We confess that when they walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive them and stretch forth Your hand and save them. Lord, You have left Your gift of peace of mind with them so their hearts will not be afraid.  Although they may be pressed on every side by troubles, they will not be crushed and broken.  They may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit.  They may be hunted down, but You will never abandon them.  They may be knocked down, but they will get up and keep going.  Father, we confess that they will lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant dreams.  They will not be afraid of the threat of disaster or destruction; for You are their security.

Loving Father, we ask You to replace their sadness with joy, defeat with victory, and fatigue with praise.  Help those who feel depressed or sad to not focus on their circumstances, but rather focus on Your blessings in their lives.  Remind them to praise You at all times.  Holy Spirit, bring all things to their memory that concern the Father’s plans for their lives.  Give them power as they meditate on the Word.  Help them to keep God’s commandments and embrace them in their hearts.  Father, help them to not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word.  Holy Spirit, we ask that You strengthen and renew their innermost being.  Prevent the fiery darts of the enemy from consuming them.  Help them to hear Your voice and obey Your will.  Help them to find and surround themselves with Believers who are strong in the Word and in faith who will keep them accountable as they walk through this season.

Find God’s promises concerning peace and begin to declare them over those people who you know are stressed and overburdened by life:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, forgive those in need of mental healing for their sins.  Forgive them for worry and fear.  Forgive them for being anxious.  Forgive them for not being diligent in fasting and praying.  Forgive them for not trusting You at all times.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

You are the Lord God Almighty!  Let the whole world glorify You, Lord; let it sing Your praises!  You will march forth like a mighty hero.  You will come out like a warrior, full of fury.  You will shout Your battle cry and crush all of Your enemies.  You alone are worthy to receive glory and honor and power.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

January 27: A Prayer for Healing and Deliverance from Cancer

Faithful Father, we are thankful for Jesus, the Living Word, who is seated at Your right hand.  We give thanks to You, Lord, for You are good.  Your faithful love endures forever.  Who can list Your glorious miracles, Lord?  We give thanks to You, Jesus, for You took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.  We give thanks to You for You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross, and freed us from the bondage of death.  By Your wounds, we were healed. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your power that brings healing to our bodies and souls.  Father, we will exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever and ever.  Daily, we will praise You, for You are great and most worthy of praise!  No one can measure Your greatness.  We will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles.  Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; we will proclaim Your greatness.

Glorious Father, You are our Healer, and Your Word declares everyone who calls on Your Name will be saved.  By the authority in Your Name, we decree that all forms and types of cancer within the bodies of Your people will no longer have dominion. We decree that no weapon formed against the spiritual and physical bodies of Your people will prosper.  We cancel the devil’s assignments to destroy their bodies with carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and all forms of cancer, including the central nervous system.  We declare that all malignant and abnormal cells are dying; they are no longer dividing and spreading through the blood or lymph systems.  We trust in You, our God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing; therefore, we declare life and restoration into their bodies. By faith, we boldly command complete healing of the immune system in the bodies of Your children.  Lord, we decree that You are their light and salvation, so they will not be afraid.  You are their fortress, their protection from danger, so they will not tremble.  We command peace to be still in their lives as they are being made whole by the miraculous power of God.

Holy Spirit, please help those who are overcoming cancer to set their hope on You so that they will continue to obey God’s commands and not forget His glorious miracles. Continue to use all health professionals as instruments of healing; through the practice of medicine, prayer offered in faith, the laying on of hands and other means of healing that You have ordained.  Give researchers divine insight into the causes, diagnoses and treatment of cancers.  Strengthen those persons who are suffering with these conditions in their bodies, and help them to live out their faith in You. Increase their endurance and patience as they walk through the healing process.  Fill them with Your presence and remind them that You will never fail or abandon them.  Daily remind them that there is nothing too hard for God and with Him, everything is possible. Surround them with Your peace as they undergo chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery or other cancer treatment methods.  Touch the hearts of family members to provide an atmosphere of faith, hope and love. Please help to provide the adequate finances, transportation, food, clothing and shelter.  Holy Spirit, teach us all how to live in Your Kingdom and to treat our bodies as Your temple; remind us to eat healthy, exercise and sleep enough hours so that our bodies fully recover from the day’s activities.

Today, I will cry out to the Lord as I pray in faith for:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Gracious God, forgive us for doubting Your love and power to heal our bodies. Forgive us for being irresponsible with our health. Forgive us for not acknowledging the abundance of Your healing virtue, grace and mercy which we have received through our Lord and Savior.  Forgive us for ungodly behavior including:  unforgiveness, bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.  Forgive our nation for creating unhealthy conditions in our food supply and environment.  We confess our sinfulness for we have not always obeyed Your commandments and lived faithfully in Your Word.  Have mercy upon us according to Your Word. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person (s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help those who need healing to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

All glory, majesty, power and authority belong to You before all time, in the present and beyond all time.  You are the King of kings and Lord of lords.  Heaven is Your throne and the earth is Your footstool.   In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

January 26: A Prayer Concerning Overcoming Addictions

Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus, the Name that is above all names. Thank You for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit which is greater than any power that exists in this world. Thank You for never giving up on us, even when we fail time after time. You are so merciful and kind. We cannot live without You, Lord. We will praise You with our whole hearts. We will tell of the marvelous things You have done. We are filled with joy because of You, Most High, and we sing praises to Your Name! We know You to be a shelter for us when we are oppressed and troubled. You never abandon those who search for You. Lord, we love You. You are our strength. You are the Rock in whom we find protection and safety. Your Name is worthy of praise!

Faithful Father, it is not Your will for us to be lost and held captive by addictions to drugs, alcohol, sex, food, gambling, or any other vices. We decree that whoever the Son has set free is truly free. Therefore, we rebuke the spirit of addiction that seeks to destroy the lives of those within our Church Family, our personal families, and in our community. There is no other name that is powerful enough to save our loved ones who are bound by addiction than the Name of Jesus. We are the righteous, and our earnest prayers have great power, producing wonderful results. We will not waver and doubt when things seem to get worse instead of better. We know that You will respond to our faith. Therefore, we declare that we will not cease to pray until our loved ones who are bound by addiction are released and delivered. We declare, in the Name of Jesus, that our homes, our families, and our communities are restored back to You!

List the names of friends, family, or neighbors who are struggling to break free of an addiction. Commit to pray specifically for them today:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, make us keenly aware of those within our Church Family and community who are hurting and bound. Give us a heart of compassion toward them. Show us how to reach out to them without judging or condemning them. Remind us of Your love and grace that brought us through our trials. Heal those who are bound by addiction in every area of their hurt.  Strengthen and help those who have been hurt by the fallout of addiction – the grandparents raising grandchildren, incarcerated parents, abandoned and abused children, impoverished families, and those who have lost loved ones due to addiction. Help us, as a Church Family, to build better partnerships with community organizations who are reaching out to house, educate, and rehabilitate those who want to come out of addiction. May we be salt and light to them as the Lord has commanded.

Righteous Father, please forgive us for not being there when we should have for those who turned to drugs for comfort. Forgive us for judging and condemning those who are addicted. Forgive us for overlooking opportunities to show love and compassion to the hurting families who are suffering from the effects of addiction. Forgive those who are addicted for turning to something unholy for help instead of turning to You. Forgive them for not responding to the voice of wisdom and making unhealthy choices in life. Forgive those of us who have at one time, knowingly or unknowingly, contributed to the cause of another’s addiction. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who are addicted of all those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those who are addicted to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Glorious Lord, ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything You made, we can clearly see Your invincible qualities – Your eternal power and Your divine nature. O Sovereign Lord, You have only begun to show Your greatness and the strength of Your hand to Your servants. Is there any god in heaven or on earth who can perform such great and mighty deeds as You do? In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 4: A Prayer for Our Girls

Heavenly Father, we thank You for blessing our girls and creating them in Your image.  We thank You for blessing them to grow into smart, creative and caring young women who will love You.  Thank You for blessing them academically, athletically and artistically.  Thank You for watching over them and protecting them from harm and danger.  We love You, Lord.   You are our strength, our rock, our fortress and Savior.  You are our Rock, in whom we find protection.  You are our shield, the power that saves us. You are our place of safety. You are a loving and kind Father.

List the name(s) of the girl(s) you are praying for today:

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Almighty Father, today, we declare that the favor of the Lord surrounds our girls like a shield and they are blessed. Our girls will possess love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control by the power of The Holy Spirit. They will trust in The Lord with all their hearts, and not lean to their own understanding.  Our girls will not copy the behavior and customs of the world, but they will let God transform them into new persons by changing the way they think.  As a result, they will learn what is God’s will for them, which is good and pleasing and perfect.  Like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, they will excel academically, socially, emotionally and psychologically.  We declare that the mind of Christ operates in them so they can love, think, and act like Him. Our girls will become great leaders, loving wives and excellent mothers.

Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our girls with Your wisdom, knowledge and spiritual understanding.  Help our girls to love themselves and not to succumb to peer pressure.  Bring other young men and women to them who will be loyal and trustworthy; people who will be faithful friends.  Help them to be good friends to their friends.

Merciful Father, please forgive our girls for any acts of sinfulness they have committed, covertly or overtly (If you are a parent of a girl, in this paragraph be specific about listing the acts of sinfulness for your daughter).  Forgive our girls for disobeying their parents, teachers and people in authority.  Forgive them for when they have been insensitive and sometimes arrogant.   Forgive us, as parents, for not always being patient and sometimes overbearing (If you are a parent of a girl, be specific and list the sins that you have committed related to your relationship with your daughter).  Holy Spirit, forgive us when we don’t always trust You to lead and guide our girls.  Help our girls to forgive those who have offended them (If you are a parent of a girl, ask The Holy Spirit whether you should lead your daughter in a prayer of forgiveness).  Help us to forgive our girls (Be specific about what you need to forgive.  Ask The Holy Spirit to show you what needs to be forgiven.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive (and speak what He shows you).”  If you need to ask your daughter to forgive you, ask The Holy Spirit to give you the courage or to help you swallow your pride and go to her and ask for forgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our girls not to yield to temptation; help us, as parents, not to yield to temptation, but deliver us all from the evil one.

Lord, all honor and glory belong to You forever and ever!  You are the eternal King, the unseen One who never dies; You alone are God.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 3: A Prayer for Our Family Members, Friends, Co-Workers, and Enemies Who are Backsliders or Unbelievers

Glorious Father, we thank You for Your unconditional love. Thank You for showing us just how great Your love is by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Thank You for adopting us as Your children. Lord God, we thank You for the precious gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens! We will praise Your Name forever and ever, for You have all wisdom and power.

Triumphant Father, we declare that the teaching of Your Word gives light so that anyone can understand it. We commit to sharing the Gospel with our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies. We will fulfill The Great Commission by going into all the world and preaching the Good News to everyone, without prejudice. We confess that as Your Word is preached throughout the world it will convict the hearts of the unsaved. As the Body of Christ, we are not ashamed to tell the Good News about Jesus Christ, for we know that it is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes. We declare that as people confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead, they will be saved. Lord, we decree that those who are set free by the Son of God will know that they are truly free indeed!

List the people that you know who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Ask the Holy Spirit for the wisdom to witness to these people. Trust Him to give you the courage to approach them and the words to say to them.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, there is much to be done to gather the great harvest of souls in our generation. Please send laborers to proclaim the Good News to the unsaved in every nation and every tongue. Strengthen and protect missionaries around the world who proclaim Christ and do good works. Lord God, we ask You to circumcise the hearts of those who are backslidden. Lead them back to the path of righteousness. Remind them of the huge cloud of witnesses that surround them and strengthen them to strip off every weight that slows them down, especially the sin that so easily trips them up. Please give them the endurance to continue the race You have set before them. We ask that You help them to keep their eyes focused on Jesus, the Champion who initiates and perfects their faith.

Precious Father, forgive our family members, friends, co-workers, and enemies who are backsliders or unbelievers for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for rejecting Your love and forgiveness. Forgive them for living in ruthless rebellion and ignorance of the Truth. Please have mercy on their souls and extend Your grace toward them.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for shrinking back and neglecting to share the Good News with more people. Forgive us for being constrained by fear instead of being motivated by faith. Forgive us for gossiping, backbiting, and slandering our backslidden brothers and sisters when we should have been helping them come back to Jesus. Lord, forgive me for (list the sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our family members, friends, co-workers, and enemies who are backsliders or unbelievers of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say out loud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our family members, friends, co-workers, and enemies who are backsliders or unbelievers to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

No one is holy like You, Lord! There is no one besides You. There is no Rock like You, our God.  Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. You are awesome in Your sanctuary. You are the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to Your people. Praise be to You, O God!  May Your glory shine over all the earth. Holy, holy, holy are You, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with Your glory!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 2: A Prayer Against Terrorism

Our Father, we thank You for being our Protector. Thank You for extending Your mercy and grace towards the nations around the world who are experiencing terrorism. Thank You for helping military personnel, law enforcement and intelligence agencies as they root out the people who are involved in these horrendous terrorist attacks. Thank You for hearing the prayers of the righteous worldwide and sending Your angels to fight supernaturally.  Thank You for protecting our nation.  We realize that it is only by Your grace that we are not experiencing the same acts of terrorism.   We give thanks to You, Lord, for You are good and Your mercy endures forever.  By Your Word, the heavens were created.  You merely spoke, and the heavens were created. You breathed the Word, and all the stars were born.  You assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs.  Let the whole world fear You and let everyone stand in awe of You.  When You spoke, the world began and appeared at Your command!

Almighty Father, by the authority given to us in Jesus’ Name, we command peace be still!  We rebuke the spirit of terror and cancel the schemes and assignments of every evil spirit, including the spirits of deception, rebellion, and confusion that are in alignment with the spirit of terror.  We command every person worldwide who is plotting against the good of humanity be exposed and captured.  We decree that the love of Christ will saturate this international crisis.  We declare healing to every person who was injured in the bombing attacks and, in Jesus’ Name, we speak healing to the minds and souls of the families who are mourning the death of a loved one.   Lord of Heaven’s Armies, we are expecting to witness Your mighty power against this evil and see a mighty outpouring of Your love through the Body of Christ.

As you watch the news, jot down those areas of the world that are under attack from terrorists and ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom on how to pray: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please comfort the citizens of Paris, France regarding the recent bombings.  Confuse and scatter the masterminds who are behind the evil works of terrorism. Continue to work with authorities to uncover and destroy the network operations of ISIS and all other terrorist groups. Touch the hearts of family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers to report person(s) who are involved with any terrorist organizations.  Holy Spirit, amplify the voices of Your missionaries who are praying and teaching the Gospel in this part of the world.  Please protect them as they carry out Your work.  Touch the hearts of all Christians to pray for all the nations, including our own.  We ask You to increase Your discernment, wisdom, knowledge, boldness, confidence and peace in our President and all world leaders as they collaborate to combat this seemingly impossible dilemma. Father, with people some things are impossible, but with You all things are possible.  We are trusting in You!

Merciful Father, forgive the terrorists for their murderous acts. Forgive us all for our many sins.  Forgive those who rebel against You and Your Word.  Please extend Your mercy to all the nations of the world who have been attacked by terrorists; to refugees fleeing the violence; and those who have lost loved ones.  They need Your help!  We all need Your help!  Forgive those of us for not consistently praying about terrorism in the world and for being insensitive about the injustices and atrocities occurring in other parts of the world. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those devastated by terrorism to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Great and marvelous are Your actions, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints.  Who will not fear You and glorify Your Name?  You alone are Holy.  All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

December 1: A Prayer of Healing for People Diagnosed with HIV and AIDS

Our Father, with our whole hearts, we give thanks to You. Thank You for being a God of hope and promise.  Lord, thank You for sending Your Word to heal us. Thank You for providing healing through the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness.  Each generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts; they shall proclaim Your power!  We will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; we will proclaim Your greatness.

Gracious Father, we commit to Your hands each member of the Body of Christ, our relatives, friends and co-workers who are battling with HIV or AIDS. We know that You have written their names on the palms of Your hands.  You know everything about them; You know when they sit down and when they stand up. We decree physical, emotional, spiritual and relational healing to each person who is living with HIV or AIDS.  By faith, we confess that they will trust in You and fix their thoughts on You so that they can live in Your perfect peace.  We know that nothing is too hard for You. The Name of Jesus is greater than the name of any disease or disorder including HIV and AIDS. We speak to their immune systems and command them to be made whole in the Name of Jesus.  We cancel the assignment of every opportunistic infection and declare they are powerless to operate in the bodies of God’s children.  We command their lungs, hearts and organs to operate correctly.  We command their red blood cells to carry the appropriate oxygen throughout their bodies and their white blood cells to form a protective shield against all foreign bodies.  We also command the CD4/T-Cell count to elevate far above 500 to a “normal” immune level.  In the Name of Jesus, we decree that the immune cells will only be used to protect the body from illness and infection and not be duplicated by this virus to further increase HIV in the body.

Holy Spirit, please show me how I can specifically pray for or help individuals who are battling with HIV or AIDS:

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please give strength to those who are weak, and increase power to those who have no might.  Lord, increase Your wisdom in the HIV/AIDS research community and reveal the cure for this terrible disease.  Help those who are suffering.  Please extend Your mercy and grace.  Touch the hearts of those persons who do not know God to cry out to Him and receive Him as their Lord and Savior. Lord, remind them to take Your Word daily; just as they would take their prescribed medicine.  Please provide the necessary resources and finances for them. Please help to increase the awareness about HIV and AIDS so that people can better protect themselves. Please break down the walls of ignorance and fear that create a difficult and isolating environment for those who are living with HIV and AIDS.

Merciful Father, forgive all acts of sinfulness for those who are battling with HIV and AIDS.  Please forgive us as a nation for not being more responsible with educating ourselves and our children on the prevention of HIV and AIDS. Forgive our nation for fornication, homosexuality, adultery, rape, drug use, discrimination, ignorance and fear. Forgive the drug companies for making medical treatment unaffordable.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those with HIV and AIDS of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive and help me to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help those who are battling with HIV and AIDS to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, from eternity to eternity, You alone are God.  No one can snatch anyone out of Your hand.  No one can undo what You have done.  You are the Lord God, the Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

November 30: A Prayer for Caregivers

Worthy Father, we praise Your wonderful Name. Thank You for those in our Church Family who have assumed the responsibility as caregiver for a parent or relative. Thank You for Your sufficient grace which is given to each of them daily.  Thank You for working in them and giving them the desire and power to do what pleases You. We are grateful for their willingness to model Jesus in the way that they give up their lives to meet the needs of others. Heavenly Father, we have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself. How we praise You!  Because You are our Helper, we will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. We cling to You. Your strong right hand holds us securely. How joyful are those of us who fear You, Lord. We delight in obeying Your commands.

Holy Father, we confess that in Your unsearchable wisdom, You have graced the caregivers in our Church Family.  We declare that they will not get tired of doing good; but that they will persevere until the appointed time for them to reap their harvest of blessing. As they trust in You to fill them with new strength, they will soar high on wings of eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. They will remain strong and courageous; confident that the sacrifices they are making will be rewarded. Lord, we decree that even when they plant in tears, they will harvest with shouts of joy.  No matter how challenging the task, they will do everything without complaining or arguing so that no one can criticize them. As they do this, they will shine like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.  We declare that from Your glorious, unlimited resources, You, our Father, will empower them with inner strength through the Holy Spirit.

Consider those you know who are caregivers and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify three ways you can be a blessing to them today:

Holy Spirit, give comfort to those who spend their lives comforting others. Lord, for those who are now parenting a parent or guardian, please help them to process this role reversal and give them the strength and wisdom to handle this change without disrespecting their parent or guardian. Remind them that the Father sees their sacrifices and He will reward them.  Encourage them to not neglect their mental and physical health and help them to find healthy, holy ways to relax.  Please send others to relieve them of their duties so that they can enjoy rest, fun and relaxation.  Lord, please help the caregivers to not grow resentful or angry; but help them to roll their cares upon You and trust that You will take care of both them and the loved one they are caring for. Remove those who are abusive and mean-spirited. As a Church Family, show us how we can support the caregivers among us.

Gracious Father, forgive those of us who take caregivers for granted.  Forgive those who selfishly overload them with tasks. Forgive those who are caregivers for succumbing to anger and frustration when they should be patient and tenderhearted. Forgive those caregivers for murmuring and complaining, and for being inconsiderate. Forgive those who may have been negligent and lazy while caring for others. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our caregivers of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names and faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive names of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our caregivers not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

O Holy One of Israel, You are King! Let the nations tremble. You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. We exalt You and bow low before Your feet, for You are holy!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

November 29: A Prayer of Healing for People Diagnosed with Cancer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for watching over those persons who have been diagnosed with cancer.  Thank You for Your healing power. Thank You, Lord, for declaring us over-comers by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Lord, we proclaim Your righteousness and praise all the day long. Your faithful love endures forever and Your mercies never cease.  Great is Your faithfulness.  Who can compare to You?  We exalt Your Holy and Righteous Name.  You are the Holy One of Israel who sent Jesus, our Lord and Savior, to redeem all humankind from the curse of the law of sin and death.

Awesome Father, Your thoughts towards us are of peace and not evil, to give us a future and a hope.  We believe that it is Your will that we live free from all diseases.  Lord, by the authority given to us, we declare that the infirmity of cancer with its many forms and common types – bladder, breast, colon and rectal, endometrial, leukemia, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, prostate, skin, thyroid and other types – are destroyed, in Jesus’ Name.  We command the primary abnormally deformed cell to die at its root and the metastasizing cells to cease from spreading throughout the body, especially to the lungs, bones, liver, brain and lymphatic system. We command the increased production of healthy cells to destroy renegade cells.  Lord, as a Church Family, we declare that our members who have been diagnosed with cancer will not die; but live to tell what You have done.  Lord, as a king of the King and a lord of the Lord, I command the Kingdom domain of healing to manifest in the body of (name the person(s) who need healing from cancer). I declare that supernatural healing is flowing throughout his/her body, in Jesus Name.

List the names of persons who are battling with cancer.  Now, declare this word over their lives today and encourage them to trust the Lord.  Give them a copy of the healing Scriptures and encourage them to pray them.  Healing Scriptures can be downloaded from http://myprayerinstitute.wordpress.com

Holy Spirit, please reveal the cure for cancer.  We ask You to increase the wisdom and knowledge of medical researchers as they perform cancer studies.  We ask You to strengthen those persons who are being treated for cancer.  Increase their endurance and patience as they undergo x-rays, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, biological therapy, hormone therapy, surgery, cryosurgery and other procedures.  Holy Spirit, comfort and strengthen their family members.  Help their family members to walk in love, peace, patience and faith.  Please protect those who have not been touched by cancer.  Destroy any triggers that would create cancerous cells in our bodies.  Lord, help us to break poor eating and sleeping habits. Remind us to exercise, eat healthy and get enough sleep.  Touch our society to promote healthy lifestyle practices.

Loving Father, we ask You to forgive the sins of those diagnosed with cancer. Forgive us all for unhealthy lifestyles and habits.  Forgive us for not being good stewards of neither our bodies nor our children’s. Forgive our nation for promoting unhealthy food and lifestyles. Forgive us for holding grudges, unforgiveness, resentment, and embedded anger.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind those who have been diagnosed with cancer to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help those who have been diagnosed with cancer to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, You are our Redeemer.  You are the Lord who made all things.  You alone stretched out the heavens and made the earth.  Lord, forever Your Word is settled in heaven.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
