A Prayer for Our Church Staff

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 112, Hebrews 6:9-12

Reflections of the Heart:

It has been said that in order to give real service, you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity. Let us thank God for our church staff and their devoted service to our church family as we pray for them today.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our church staff. Thank You for the long hours they put in and for the sacrifices they make in order to provide our church family with excellent service. Thank You for keeping and upholding them and their families. Lord, because of Your unfailing love, we can enter Your house. We will worship at Your Temple with deepest awe. We love You, Lord. You are our strength. You are so good and so merciful. We give honor and glory to Your holy Name today.

Sovereign Father, we declare that our church staff loves one another as You have loved them. By this all will know that they are Your disciples. We decree that they will be strong and immovable as they go about their daily tasks. They will always work enthusiastically for You, knowing that nothing they do for You is ever useless. When they are met with opposition, challenges, rudeness, or disrespect, we confess that they will keep a calm demeanor, trusting You to fight their battles. We decree that they will never let loyalty and kindness leave them. They will tie them around their neck as a reminder and write them deep within their hearts. Then they will have favor with both You and people, and they will earn a good reputation. We believe that our staff will excel in everything they put their hands to do and we expect blessings to overtake them.

Think of two staff members, list their names here, then ask the Holy Spirit how you can specifically show your appreciation for their service:

Holy Spirit, please help our church staff to always operate in unity and peace with one another, even if they have differences of opinion. Let the love of Jesus abide in their hearts continually. May the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control be evident in their daily interactions with others. Help them to care for their physical health appropriately by getting enough rest, sleep, healthy nutrition and exercise. Show them how to balance their work and home life so that they do not become stressed and frustrated. Help them to stay committed to their personal spiritual growth through regular prayer, fasting and the study of Your Word. Give them supernatural wisdom to solve problems, develop strategies, and produce effective results as they meet the demands of this growing ministry.

Merciful Father, forgive our church staff for their sins. Forgive them for outbursts of anger, jealousy, envy, strife, gossiping, murmuring, complaining, anxiety, confusion, and dissension. Forgive those who are not reflecting Your character to their co-workers. Forgive those who have lost sight of Your purpose for placing them on our church staff.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our church staff of all those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Father, help our church staff not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, all heaven will praise Your great wonders. Myriad of angels will praise You for Your faithfulness. For who in all of heaven can compare with You? What mightiest angel is anything like You? The highest angelic powers stand in awe of You. You are far more awesome than all who surround Your throne.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Christian Organization Prayer of Love for God and Their Neighbor

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 138:2, I John 4:7-21

Reflections of the Heart:

The fruit of the Spirit is Love.  Only as we live in God’s love, can we fulfill His will in our lives. The believer must become Love-inspired, Love-mastered and Love-driven.

ONE Prayer:

Almighty Father, as Christians, thank You for loving us despite the way we sometimes act or think.  Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others.  Thank You for helping us to be more loving and compassionate towards others. Lord, we come before You clapping our hands and shouting joyful praise to You.  You are the great King of all the earth.  You subdue the nations before us and put our enemies under our feet. Our hearts are confident in You, Father.  Because of this confidence, we will sing Your praises. We will wake the dawn with our song, Lord, among all the people.  We will sing Your praises among the nations for Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.  Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Glorious Father, as Your dear children, we commit to loving You with all our hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all.  As a Christian organization, in the same Spirit, we also commit to loving our neighbors as ourselves.  We confess that the Holy Spirit fills and controls us as we commit to doing Your will.  We will be patient and kind instead of acting jealous, boastful, proud or rude.  We will not demand our own way, but we will be considerate of others and their opinions.  We will not be irritable or keep a record of being wronged.  But we will be joyful and quick to forgive. We commit to living a righteous life. We will be patient and will not return evil with evil.  As a Christian organization, we will let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify You, our Father.

As a Christian, how do you show your love for God and for your neighbor by your actions?

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, reveal to us those habits, mindsets and attitudes that prevent us from being truly surrendered to the Father.  Help us to not deceive ourselves by thinking we are walking in love while using our tongues to curse those who have been made in the Father’s image. In this world where we are told to put ourselves first, help us to truly put the Father first in our lives, and to esteem others better than ourselves.

Exalted Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins.  Forgive us for, at times, being irreverent and apathetic towards You.  Forgive those of us who murmur and complain and do not show our love and appreciation for all that You do.  Forgive us when we are impatient with our neighbor. Forgive us when we pick and choose to whom we will show love.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, as Christians, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, as Christians, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are God alone.  You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its place.  You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos.  You are the Lord and there is no other.  You only speak what is true and declare only what is right.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

September 21: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Ministry Volunteers

As Believers, we are called to not only receive, but to serve.  On any given weekend, ministry volunteers ensure that the worship services are fulfilled to the glory of God and the advancement of His Kingdom.  If you do not serve in a ministry, ask the Lord where He desires your gifts to be shared and get connected to ministry today.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our ministry volunteers.  Thank You, God, for guiding their feet into the way of peace.  Thank You, Lord, for the volunteers who are committed and dedicated to the Kingdom work You are manifesting through our church. Father, Your majestic Name fills the earth!  Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies and all who oppose You. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne.  Lord, You are such a faithful God.  You are our rock, our deliverer, in whom we trust. You are worthy to be praised.

Righteous Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven through our ministry volunteers.  We declare that our volunteers understand the roles they play in manifesting Your plans for the Kingdom. They have the mind of Christ, and they hold the thoughts and purposes of His heart.  They hold fast to the profession of their faith without wavering; for You are faithful in fulfilling Your promises.  Their minds will stay on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report.  They are doers of the Word and not hearers only. Every volunteer works as if You are their direct supervisor.  Because of their service to Your Kingdom, their needs are consistently met according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Lord, we decree that they serve in humility, harmony and unity with others on their team.  They each serve with a spirit of excellence and a garment of praise.

Holy Spirit, help me to be a blessing to the ministry volunteers in my church:

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Loving Father, please fill each volunteer with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.  Stir their hearts to hunger and thirst after You.  Father, bless them physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially.  Bless their families, homes, jobs and/or businesses.  Father, give them favor with all persons they come in contact with and help them to complete every assigned task.  Lord, protect them and keep them safe.  Help them to not get tired of doing good.  Fill each of them with joy and pour out Your love upon them.

Forgiving Father, forgive each ministry volunteer for any acts of sinfulness.  Forgive those for idolatry, dissension, strife, pride, rebellion, discord, jealousy, injustice, hatred and slander.  Forgive those who murmur and complain. Forgive those who have impure motives for serving.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our ministry volunteers of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names and faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive names of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our ministry volunteers not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.  You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power.  You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

August 20: A Prayer of Blessings for Our Church Family

Faithful Father, we thank You for the Pastors and members in our Church Family.  Thank You, Lord, for Your blessings upon our church, homes, and jobs.  Thank You for Your amazing presence in our lives, both corporately and individually.  Father, may Your glorious Name be praised!  We exalt Your Name above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord; You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars.  You made the earth and the seas and everything in them.  You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship You.  We will give to You, Lord, the glory You deserve.  We will bring our offering as we come into Your presence.  We will worship You in all of Your holy splendor.

Exalted Father, let it be unto us according to Your Word.  As a Church Family, we confess that as we come close to You, You will come close to us.  We expect that all Your blessings will come upon us and overtake us because we are committed to obeying Your voice.  We confess that our towns and our fields are blessed.  Our children and the works of our hands are blessed.  Wherever we go and whatever we do, we are blessed.  We are refreshed by the autumn rains as well as the rains of spring.  Lord, we decree in our lives that which was lost is restored and we will eat plenty and be satisfied. According to Your Word, we will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches.  Instead of shame and dishonor, we will possess a double portion of honor.  We will possess a double portion of prosperity in the land and everlasting joy will be ours.  Lord, we always expect You to pour out Your Spirit upon us and show wonders in the heavens and on the earth. We declare that our marriages are blessed and holy, our families are whole and vibrant, and our bodies are healthy and strong.

What areas of your life appear to be lacking?  Find God’s promises concerning those issues and declare them over your situations:

Holy Spirit, as blessings begin to overtake us, remind us to be a blessing to others.  Flood our hearts with light so that we can understand the confident hope that the Father has given us, His holy people, who are His rich and glorious inheritance. Help us to continue to grow spiritually as a Church Family.  Remind us to always be thankful to God, our Father, and Jesus, our Brother.  Help us understand that it is God who gives us the power to be successful so that the covenant He made with our ancestors will be confirmed.  Lord, please help us to be faithful to the vision of our church and the steadfastness of Your Word.

Generous Father, please forgive us for the sins of disobedience, hypocrisy, selfish-ambitions, pride, gossip, and perversion.  Forgive us where we have misappropriated Your blessings in the past.  Forgive us for not studying Your Word like we should and neglecting our prayer life. Forgive us for depending on our own strength and intellect instead of Your supernatural power and authority.  Forgive us for not operating in the fruit and gifts of Your Spirit.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, as a Church Family, help us to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, You are our stronghold.  The heavens declare Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship.  You are the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth.  Lord, You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power.  You created all things and they exist because You created what You pleased.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Omnipotent Father, help our church staff and their families to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant King, You will sit on Your throne forever.  Your fame will endure to every generation.  Your deeds have been recorded so that future generations, a people not yet born, will praise Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

March 19: A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Our Pastors and Their Families

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the men and women You have appointed as our Pastors. Thank You for blessing our Church Family with their leadership and wisdom. Thank You for leading, directing, and protecting their families. Lord, You are our Good Shepherd, our High Priest.  You are a great God and a great King above all gods. We kneel before You and acknowledge You as our maker. You are our God and we are the people that You watch over and have taken under Your care.

Holy Spirit, show me how to pray specifically for our Pastors and their families:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You align our relationships with Your will in our homes, church, jobs and communities.  Show each of us how to organize our calendars and schedules so that Godly fellowship is more of a priority. Send Godly friends to those who are lonely. Help our Church Family to set the example of what righteous fellowship looks like. Knit our hearts closer together. Lord, help us to be obedient as You order our steps.  Give us the power to crucify our flesh and walk in Your light.  As we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, help us to drop our gossip buddies, smoking buddies, promiscuous buddies, club-hopping buddies and anyone who the devil may use to keep us from glorifying God through our fellowship with the righteous.  Help us to let our light so shine before people that they may see our good works and glorify You, our Heavenly Father.

Holy Spirit, show me how to strengthen the God-ordained relationships in my life.  Show me those relationships that I need to end and give me the strength to end them:

As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, You are to be praised forever and ever.  Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, power, glory, victory, and the majesty.  Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours.  This is Your Kingdom, Lord, and You are over all things.  Wealth and honor come from You alone, for You rule over everything.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

September 5: A Prayer for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center (Children Center) Kenya

Heavenly Father, we thank You for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya. Thank You for Pastor Velosia and Daniel Kibe and their volunteers and staff. We thank You, Father, for providing food, clothing and shelter for each child. Thank You for the financial resources for the orphanage.  We give thanks to You, Lord, and proclaim Your greatness. As Your grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving and You will receive more and more glory!  Redeeming Father, we will let the whole world know what You have done.  May the nations praise You, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise You.

Worthy Father, we come before You confessing continual success for The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center (Children Center) Kenya.  Your Word tells us that pure and genuine religion in Your sight means caring for orphans in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt us. We will assist the poor in their need and the orphans who require help. We command justice to operate for each child in the orphanage and we destroy the assignments of oppression and devastation.  As Your people, we will uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. We decree that the children at the Children Center are being well-cared-for and protected. We declare that the spirit of excellence that was upon Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego presides upon each child in the Children Center.  In Jesus’ Name, we decree that The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya is well maintained and managed.

Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of people to continue to give generously of their financial resources to aid in the expansion of the building projects so that more children can be served.  Open doors of opportunity for more missions teams to go and serve on the Children Center campus.  Lead the people of Kenya who are blessed with skills in construction to volunteer their time and service to the residential housing, agricultural, and library projects. Holy Spirit, touch the heart of the local medical personnel to give of their time and expertise to provide medical services to the children. Send anointed teachers who will inspire each child to fully develop the gifts and talents You have created in each of them.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can pray for and be a blessing to The KBC (Children Center) Kenya:

Righteous Father, please forgive our sins. Forgive us for not praying consistently for the Children Center. Forgive the sins of those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya. Forgive any staff member at the Children Center for any mismanagement of time or resources.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, remind those involved with The Kingdom Builders’ Children Center Kenya to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You alone stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth.  You stir up the sea, causing its waves to roar.  The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is Your Name!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
