A Prayer Against Fear and Anxiety

Wonderful Father, we thank You for peace and protection for our families. We thank You, Lord, for having plans for good and not disaster for us, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing us with Your perfect peace as we keep our thoughts fixed on You. Thank You for being our strength in times of weakness. You are great and most worthy of praise. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean’s depths. You are the King of glory, the Lord strong and mighty. You are the Lord, invincible in battle. O Lord, You have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. We are grateful that when we, Your people, call to You for help, You hear and rescue us out of our troubles.

Almighty Father, You are our light and salvation, so we will not be afraid. You are our fortress, protecting us from danger, so we will not tremble. We will live peacefully and safely in our homes. Lord, we expect that You will continue to put a wall of protection around our families during this Coronavirus outbreak. We confess that when we walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive us and stretch forth Your hand and save us. Lord, You have left Your gift of peace of mind with us, so our hearts will not be afraid. Using the authority given to us by
Jesus Christ, we cancel the spirits of fear and anxiety from our families, homes, communities, cities, states, nation and world. The Name of Jesus is greater than any name in this earth, including Coronavirus, and we command peace be still! We declare healing to come forth for those who have been exposed to or infected with the virus. We confess that as those throughout the world trust in You, they will experience Your peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.

Holy Spirit, please reveal a cure for the Coronavirus. Show the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and all other health organizations ways to end the spread of this disease. Faithful Father, help us all to cast our cares on You during this time. Holy Spirit, please bring comfort to the families of those who have died. As Christians, remind us to demonstrate our faith by living in ways that bring glory to You during this time of crisis and uncertainty. Strengthen and protect those families whose lives have been shattered by the Coronavirus, and please provide the funds for those who may not have adequate
resources for food. Help our children and youth to process their emotions and deliver them from any fear or anxiety. Cause neighbors to help, encourage and watch out for each other. Protect those health professionals, first responders who are caring for patients and keep them safe. Protect personnel who continue to work during this crisis. Please increase the prayer movement throughout the world, and help us all to pray with boldness and diligence. Lord, pour out Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding to our leaders, government officials and healthcare professionals who are responsible for addressing this crisis. Touch the
hearts of all world leaders to look to You for guidance and direction.

Holy Spirit, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including fear, anxiety, worry and unbelief. Forgive those who are using the Coronavirus as an excuse to speak against people. Forgive the U.S. media for spreading fear. Forgive those who choose not to trust in You. Forgive those who are trying to benefit from the fears of our citizens. Forgive those of us who are Christians for not sharing Your Gospel or praying for those who in need as we interact with others, especially our neighbors. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A PRAYER REGARDING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Righteous Father, we thank You for being the Lord God who heals all diseases. Thank You for Your protection and for keeping our bodies healthy. Thank You for strengthening our immune systems and helping us to ward off infections and viruses. We sing praises to You and Your Name. We will sing loud praises to You, the One who rides the clouds. Your Name is the Lord; we rejoice in Your presence. We praise You Lord, our Savior. Each day, You carry us in Your arms. Sovereign God, You save us and rescue us from death. Lord, we are like olive trees, thriving in Your house. We will always trust in Your unfailing love. We will praise You forever for what You have done for us. We will trust in Your Name in the presence of Your faithful people.

Eternal Father, we declare that the Name of Jesus is greater than any name in this earth, including the Coronavirus. Jesus, You desire that we be in good health, as it goes well with our souls. It is Your will that our lives are peaceful and filled with hope, not dread. We expect Your Word to operate in all our lives. We declare that our immune systems are healthy and strong. Jesus, you personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we could be dead to sin and alive to righteousness and by Your stripes, we were healed. Therefore, by faith, we stand on Your Word and we declare healing and total restoration for those who have contracted the Coronavirus (or any virus). We rebuke the spirit of fear that is creating fear and panic throughout our country and around the world. We cancel the assignments of the devil to create global disorder and unrest. We command peace be still!

Holy Spirit, please help doctors and scientists to identify effective vaccines and medications for the Coronavirus. Accelerate the research and testing process so that the vaccine can be administered before the projected dates. Protect those health care workers who are caring for patients and keep them safe. Please strengthen the bodies of those whose immune systems have been compromised. Show them the necessary steps they need to take to protect themselves and their loved ones. Remind our citizens to wash their hands frequently and thoroughly, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available; cover their coughs and sneezes with a tissue that is put in the trash. Help them to remember not to touch their eyes, noses or mouths with unwashed hands; and to stay home when they are sick. Touch the hearts of people to help their neighbors and those who may not have adequate resources or food.
Please protect our children and elderly and keep them safe from all sicknesses and diseases. Holy Spirit, please reveal a cure for the Coronavirus. Show the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and all other health organizations ways to end the spread of this disease. Pour out Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding to our leaders, government officials, healthcare professionals, scientists and other professionals who are responsible for addressing this crisis. Holy Spirit, help us to trust God for protection.

Beloved Father, forgive those who are using the Coronavirus as an excuse to speak against people from other countries. Forgive the US media for stirring up fear, confusion and chaos. Forgive those who are trying to benefit from the fears of our citizens. Forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including not seeking Your counsel first about this pandemic. Forgive us for poor eating habits and lack of exercise which have resulted in compromised or diminished immune systems. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to the temptations of fear and hoarding, but deliver us from the evil one. Lord of Heaven’s Armies, honor and majesty are before You. Strength and beauty are in Your sanctuary. We recognize that You are glorious and strong. We give You the glory that You deserve! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A Prayer of Forgiveness

Scripture Reading:

Psalm 100, Hebrews 12:14-15

Reflections of the Heart:

Alan Brandt was quoted in print in 1995 as saying “Being resentful, they say, is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die” and the same year he was also quoted as saying “Resentment is like taking poison and hoping it’ll kill someone else.” www.quora.com

Scriptural Prayer:

Beloved Father, thank You for loving, forgiving and saving us.  Thank You for giving us opportunities each day to show love and forgiveness to others.  Thank You for increasing Your presence, power, anointing and abundance in our lives. Lord, You are great!  You are most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness. We will let all that is within us praise You, Lord; with our whole hearts, we will praise Your Holy Name.  We will never forget the good things You do for us. You forgive all our sins and heal all diseases. You crown us with lovingkindness and tender mercies. You fill our lives with good things so that our youth is renewed like that of the eagle’s!

Righteous Father, Your Word says that we are to make allowance for the faults of others and forgive anyone who offends us.  We remember that You forgave us, so we, therefore, must forgive others. We will be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.  We will intentionally show deep love for each other and for our family members and friends because love covers a multitude of sins. We will not copy the behavior and customs of this world but will let You transform us into new persons by changing the way we think.  Then we will learn to know Your will for us, Lord, which is good and pleasing and perfect. We confess that we will not worry about anything; instead, we will pray about everything.  We will tell You what we need and thank You for all You have already done. Through prayer, we will be strengthened with all Your glorious power so we will have all the endurance and patience needed.  May we be refilled daily with Your joy.

Holy Spirit, help us understand that You love us unconditionally and that You are a forgiving God.  Reveal any unforgiveness that is in our hearts and give us wisdom and courage to seek spiritual and/or professional counseling.  Help us understand unforgiveness, which is classified as a disease in medical books, can lead to heart disease, cancer and other stress-related illnesses.  Touch and renew our hearts so that we release the past and go forward, fully forgiving others of any offenses. Give us the peace and freedom that come from letting go and allowing You to fill our hearts with love.

Forgiving Father, please forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including jealousy, contempt, pride, bitterness, hatred, malice and holding grudges.  Forgive us when we engage in acts of unforgiveness such as arguments, criticism, lying, gossiping and vengeful acts within our families, friends, workplace and community relationships.  Forgive us for expecting to be forgiven by You when we choose not to forgive others for past offenses.   Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind all of us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, reveal how I can pray to forgive myself and others today.

Triumphant Lord, You are the eternal King; Your rule is everlasting.  All the people of the earth are nothing compared to You.  All of Your acts are just and true.  You alone have held the oceans in Your hand.  You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth.  The Lord God Almighty is Your Name.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
