June 28: A Prayer for Persons with Renegade Blood Disorders

Righteous Father, we thank You, for sending Your Word to heal us, and for snatching us from the power of death. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for shedding Your blood so that people may be healed.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering the Word to provide healing when we speak it.  Father, we praise and honor Your Name.  Your Name is the Lord and we will rejoice before You.  You have been our home through all generations.  We praise You, Lord God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.  Lord, what a variety of things You have made.  In wisdom, You have made them all.  The earth is full of Your creatures.

Immortal Father, we pray for all persons with renegade blood disorders such as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Sickle Cell Anemia, Lupus, Hypertension, and Hemophilia.  Lord, today, we apply Your Word to these blood-related diseases and we are expecting miracles.  Lord Jesus, You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.  Therefore, by Your wounds, (speak the names) are healed.  According to the authority that You have given us to heal the sick and cast out demons, we command Your Word to be operative in the blood cells of every person who is experiencing blood disorders.  Lord, we command their blood circulatory systems to operate perfectly.  We command their lungs, hearts and organs to function correctly as designed by You.  We command their red blood cells to carry the appropriate levels of oxygen throughout their bodies and their white blood cells to form a protective shield against all foreign bodies.  Lord, we confess that as each person pays attention to Your Word, and lets it penetrate deep into their hearts, the Word will bring life to them and healing to their whole body.  Lord, we are expecting their health to be restored.  Yes Father, we are expecting miracles!

List the names of persons who are battling with a renegade blood disorder.  Now, declare this Word over their lives today and encourage them to trust the Lord.  Healing Scriptures can be downloaded from http://myprayerinstitute.wordpress.com/category/healing/

Holy Spirit, we ask You to touch the hearts of those persons who have not confessed Jesus Christ, to confess Him as their Savior and Lord. Please give strength to those who are weak, and increase power to those who have no might. Lord, please give wisdom to the practitioners who provide medical treatment. Regardless of their relationship with You, please work through them for the sake of those who are suffering. Holy Spirit, please remind those who are battling with their health to take Your Word daily; just as they would take their prescribed medicine. Remind them to eat healthy foods and to get the proper rest. Help those persons who are struggling with receiving help to accept the kindness of others. Holy Spirit, please help them to guard their hearts and minds from doubt and unbelief.  Please give them comfort, and help them to walk by faith.

Loving Father, forgive those persons who are battling with renegade blood disorders for all acts of sinfulness.  Please forgive the sins and iniquities of their forefathers.  Forgive each person for worry, fear and for walking in doubt and disobedience. Forgive those who do not diligently seek after You.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those persons with blood disorders of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive.  As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.  (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help them to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are greater than we can understand.  Your years cannot be counted.  King, You created the heavens and stretched them out.  You created the earth and everything in it.  You give breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth.  The Lord, that is Your Name!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 24: A Prayer Concerning Suicide Among Youth and Adults

Eternal Father, we thank You for being Immanuel, God with us. Thank You for allowing us to call to you whenever we are troubled, and for answering us. We thank You that Your arm is not too short to reach the youth and adults who are despairing of life right now. So many of them feel alone and defeated, but we know that those who are in the Lord will never be abandoned. You are a shield around us. You are our glory; the one who holds our heads high. Lord, Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. When we look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers – the moon and the stars you set in place. What are mere mortals that You should think about us? Human beings, that You should care for us? Yet you made us only a little lower than Yourself and crowned us with glory and honor.

Almighty Father, we come crying out for our brothers and sisters in Christ who have been battling with suicidal thoughts and behaviors.  We decree that they may be pressed on every side by troubles, but they will not be crushed. They may feel perplexed but they will not be driven to despair.  They may feel hunted down, but they are never abandoned by You.  They may get knocked down, but they are not destroyed.  We decree that they are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. We confess that they will recognize that the weapons of their warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  They will bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  In the Name of Jesus, we rebuke the evil one and cancel his plans to kill, steal, and destroy the lives of our youth and adults. We declare that he will not cheat them out of the rich and satisfying life that You purposed for them to have. We believe that You will restore to them the joy of Your salvation. You will unseal their lips that their mouths may once again praise you.

Holy Spirit, shine the divine light of the Father’s love into the broken hearts of our youth and adults. Remind them that He loved them so much that He gave His one and only Son so that those who believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Enlighten their perspective and help them to lift their eyes above their past hurts and present disappointments. Teach them until they are fully convinced that nothing can ever separate them from the Father’s love. Give us, the Body of Christ, a heart like the Father’s so that we will always be sensitive to one another’s needs and show genuine compassion. Give us wisdom to know how to reach those youth and adults who are feeling suicidal. Warn their family members, co-workers, teachers, coaches, and close friends so that they do not miss those critical moments of intervention. Show us how we can better connect with like-minded organizations within our community to form a strong alliance against the social, economic, spiritual, and psychological contributors to suicide among our youth and adults.

List the names of youth or adults whom the Holy Spirit is leading you to specifically cover in prayer today. Then do your best to personally reach out to them in some loving way:

Gracious Father, forgive those youth and adults who are feeling suicidal for any acts of sinfulness.  Forgive them for not trusting You to deliver them out of their current situation.  Forgive them for allowing the world to define them and their circumstances instead of Your Word.  Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for failing to notice the cries for help that our brothers and sisters have made.  Forgive us for being inconsistent in our love walk toward our youth and adults who are silently suffering. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our youth and adults not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Magnificent Lord, You are our Savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth. You formed the mountains by Your power and armed Yourself with mighty strength. You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves. You silenced the shouting of the nations. Those  who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, You inspire shouts of joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

June 23: A Prayer for People Who are Lonely

Gracious Father, we thank You for the gift of life. Thank You for never leaving or abandoning us. Thank You for giving us true consolation and comfort through the Holy Spirit. Our hearts are confident in You, O God. It’s no wonder we sing Your praises with all our hearts! We will wake the dawn with our song. We will thank You among all people, and sing your praises to the nations. Your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. You have purposed that the nations should seek after You and find you; though You are not far away from any one of us. We are blessed to be Your offspring.

Heavenly Father, we declare that we have overcome loneliness because the Spirit who lives in us is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. We confess that Your plans for the lonely are  for good and not for disaster, to give us all a future and a hope. We decree that we will not throw away this confident trust we have in You, Lord. But we will remember the great reward that it brings. We decree that we, the Body of Christ, have come to know real love through Jesus, who gave up His life for us. We will not merely say that we love each other, but we will show the truth by our actions. We will defeat loneliness with genuine love and care. We declare that those who have been plagued with loneliness will find joy in your presence and the pleasures of living with You forever. We decree victory for the lonely. You will give them a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, and festive praise instead of despair. We declare that they will no longer be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is their strength!

Holy Spirit, comfort the lonely and remind them that the Father is for them. Fill them with the encouragement that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow; not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love. Help them to release any offenses from the past that may be preventing them from connecting with the love of the Father through others. Teach them how to love again the right way; with the love of the Lord. Enlarge the capacity of their hearts to receive love and to trust again. Open the eyes of those around them to see their pain and to respond with agape love. For those who may be in a season where they must walk alone, guard them from loneliness by helping them to be joyful, to grow in maturity, to encourage and be encouraged, and to live in harmony and peace with others. Then the love and peace of the Father will certainly be with them.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you can personally minister to someone who is lonely today:

_________________________________________________________________________

Magnificent Father, you are so good and so ready to forgive. Forgive our sins. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for sometimes overlooking and neglecting people. Forgive us for being too preoccupied with trivial, non-essential things. Forgive us for missing opportunities to include others in our family gatherings and activities. Forgive us for neglecting the widows and orphans who feel all alone in the world. Forgive us for failing to give a kind word or a smile to someone who may have desperately needed it. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty God, we give glory and honor to Your Name. You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness. You are King! Let the nations tremble! You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all nations. We will praise Your great and awesome name. Your name is holy! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

May 31: A Prayer of Recovery for the Houston Metropolitan Area

Triumphant Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers concerning the flooding in the Houston Metropolitan Area. Thank You for strengthening those who were those impacted and for helping them to recover.  Holy Spirit, thank You for pouring out Your spirit of love, compassion, benevolence and generosity towards them.  Thank You for supplying all of their needs from Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.  Lord, You are great and Your power is absolute! Your understanding is beyond comprehension.  Lord, Most High, You are awesome.  You are the King of all the earth.

Gracious Father, we declare calm weather in the Houston Metropolitan Area. In the Name of Jesus, we command peace, be still!   We decree that the predicted Hurricanes for this region will not bring excessive harm or devastation to our city and the surrounding coastal areas. By faith, we command the weather to be peaceful in this region and we destroy the attempts of satan to impact the atmospheric conditions in any way.  We call the blessings of God to rest upon our economic, educational, political, judicial, technological, social, and health systems in this region.  We command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within every governmental agency and insurance company that is responsible for helping our citizens and communities to recover.  We rebuke every demonic power that influences the recovery process, especially the spirits of delay and greed.  We command the necessary funds for rebuilding to come forth!  We declare that their hope and confidence is not in FEMA or the insurance industry, but their hope and trust is in You, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Ask the Holy Spirit what you can specifically do to help those families who are still recovering from the flooding in the Houston Metropolitan Area:

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help our citizens to recover and heal, especially the families of those who died.  Calm the fears of every citizen and let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits.  Continue to send people who will love, support, and comfort them during their time of recovery. God, our Healer, please provide healing and speedy recovery to every citizen. Heal their physical, emotional, and psychological wounds and restore them as they rebuild their lives.  Convict the heart of any business, agency or individual who would attempt to take advantage of people for profit or gain.  Holy Spirit, lead and guide our governmental officials as they plan the revitalization of our city and the surrounding areas. Remind them to remember the poor as they plan.  Please comfort and encourage those children whose lives have been greatly disrupted by the flooding.  Calm their fears and help them to sleep soundly at night.

Righteous Father, forgive our citizens for their many sins.  Forgive us all for disobedience, racism, rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, immorality, murder, injustice, and perversion.  Forgive us for not looking after the widows and orphans and for oppressing the poor and disadvantaged.  Forgive us for greed, corruption and for putting the pursuit of material possessions above the needs of our neighbors.  Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our citizens of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our citizens to overcome their temptations and deliver us all from the evil one.

Lord, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power.  You created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

May 23: A Prayer for the Young Adults

Marvelous Father, we thank You for the young adults in the Body of Christ. Thank You for the bright and prosperous future that You have for each of them. Thank You for the blood of Your precious Son, Jesus Christ, that brought us all near to You. Great is Your faithfulness. Your mercies are fresh every morning. We praise Your great and awesome Name. Your Name is holy! It is because of Your faithfulness that our young adults are kept strong in You and the power of Your might.

Faithful Father, we declare that the young adults in the Body of Christ are confident they have been raised from the dead along with Christ, and they are seated in the heavenly realms because they are united with Him.  They are new people. Their old lives are gone, and a new life has begun!  Lord, it is Your will that they be joyful always, ceaseless in prayer, and thankful in all circumstances. In Jesus’ Name, we declare that they are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. They do only those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.  We declare that wisdom will enter their hearts, and knowledge will fill them with joy. Wise choices will watch over them and understanding will keep them safe.   We decree that they are living wisely and making the most of every opportunity.

Holy Spirit, help our young adults to strip off every weight that slows them down; especially the sins that so easily trips them up. Teach them to run with endurance the race God has set before them. Search them, O God, and know their hearts. Test them and know their anxious thoughts. Point out anything in them that offends You, and lead them along the path of everlasting life. Help them to daily trust in the Lord with all of their hearts and not lean to their own understanding, to seek His will in all that they do so that He can show them which path to take.  Show them how to make divine connections with others who will hold them accountable and help keep them focused and pressing toward the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling them.  Lord, show them the place and position that You have ordained for them in Your Kingdom.  Help us as the Body of Christ to embrace and empower our young adults to stand strong in their Kingdom faith.

Father, I commit to encouraging and praying for the following young adults:

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Compassionate Father, forgive our young adults collectively and individually for the sinful acts that they have committed against You, including: idolatry, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, fornication, envy, drunkenness, division and disobedience. Forgive them for times when they have lost sight of who they are in Christ Jesus.  Forgive us as the Body of Christ where we have not acknowledged or embraced our young adults.  Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).  Holy Spirit, remind our young adults of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our young adults not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty God, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth; Your right hand that spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they all appear in order. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours, O Lord, and this is Your Kingdom.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

May 15: A Prayer for Wives Who are Desiring To Get Pregnant

Our Father, we thank You for the blessing of children and family. Thank You for each wife who stands in faithful expectancy of a child to hold in her arms. Thank You for Your creative power which is able to open closed wombs and cause them to thrive with new life. We will praise You, Lord, with all our hearts. We will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. We will be filled with joy because of You, and we will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High. May Your glorious Name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!

Exalted Father, we believe that just as You were attentive to Hannah’s pleas for help, You hear the cries of every wife who longs to become a mother. We, the Body of Christ, declare that their prayers will not go unanswered, for You promised that You would withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. We confess that these wives will not grow weary and lose hope. In Jesus Name, we declare that bodies of each husband and wife in the Body of Christ are whole and complete, lacking nothing. We confess that they have victory over doubt, fear, and unbelief. We believe that You will connect them with those people who will love and support them as they trust You for children of their own. We decree that they will be parents who are full of wisdom and patience. They will train their children up in the way they should go, and when their children are old they will not depart from it. These expectant couples will do all they can to nurture their marriages so that the atmosphere of their home will be ready to receive children into a loving, peaceful environment.

List the names of any wives you know who desire to have a child and pray for them by name today:

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would prompt the wives who are desiring to get pregnant to disconnect from any negative influences in their lives. Lead them to develop strong, healthy relationships with faith-filled believers who will stand in agreement with them and their husbands. Teach them how to take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. Help them to rest and trust in the Father’s perfect timing. Keep them from becoming envious of others who have already conceived a child. Heal their hearts and deliver them from any guilt or shame they may be feeling. Help their husbands to show compassion and be patient and understanding toward them as they wait to conceive. Once they do conceive, strengthen them against the temptation to worship or overindulge their children. May they always be thankful and give glory to God, keeping Him first in their lives.

Loving Father, forgive the wives who desire to get pregnant of any known or unknown acts of disobedience. Forgive the wives and husbands for any past sins they may have committed. Forgive them for holding unforgiveness in their hearts toward others. Forgive them for giving in to frustration, anger, or outbursts of wrath. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the wives and husbands of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help the wives and husbands who desire to get pregnant to not yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for You? You are mighty, but You do not despise anyone. You are mighty in both power and understanding. You are greater than we can understand. Your years cannot be counted. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

May 12: A Prayer for Our Health Professionals

Divine Father, thank You for showing us the wonders of Your unfailing love. Thank You for hearing our cry for mercy and answering our call for help. Thank You for all those in the Body of Christ who serve in the health profession. We thank You for doctors, nurses, researchers, scientists, hospital administrators, therapists, pharmacists, medical assistants, paramedics, and medical technicians with discernment, understanding, knowledge, and courage. What a blessing they are to all of us! By Your wisdom, You have strategically equipped and anointed men and women with expertise in medicine, science, nutrition, pharmacy, surgery, rehabilitation, and counseling. Lord, You made the heavens Your throne; You rule over everything from there.  Your angels praise You, Lord.  Your mighty ones who carry out Your plans, listen for each of Your commands.  Lord, everything that You created will praise You; everything in Your Kingdom!   Let all that we are praise You!

All-Wise Father, we decree that just as the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, feared and obeyed You, our health professionals will not succumb to the pressure to compromise; but they remain committed to their oath to “do no harm.” We believe that You are working wonders in the health profession right now. We confess that our health professionals believe in the promises of Your Word, and as they ask You, You will tell them remarkable secrets about things to come in their profession. They will be pioneers in discovering cures and medical breakthroughs for our generation. We decree that the health professionals in our Church Family will seek Your wisdom and knowledge and always pursue excellence in their chosen fields.  They are dedicated to the proper care and treatment of all their patients and they will remember to show their patients mercy, just as You have shown mercy to them.

Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of the names of those you know in the healthcare field and pray for their specific needs:

Holy Spirit, remind our health professionals not to trust in human wisdom; but in the power of God. Please comfort the hearts of those who have recently lost a patient who was under their care. Help them to heal from the emotional wounds that come along with their jobs. Give them the boldness they need to stand up for their patients’ rights and to contribute significantly to the pursuit of health reform in our country. Remind our health professionals that they represent the Kingdom of God in the health industry, so their demeanor and behavior should reflect Kingdom principles. Please continue to bless the covenant partnerships that our ministries have formed with the medical community, including Texas Children’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson and TIRR Memorial Hermann.  May we continue to work together to bring the best healthcare to more underserved communities.

Beloved Father, forgive those among our health professionals who have been prideful and arrogant, taking Your glory for themselves. Forgive those who have been more concerned with financial gain than being a servant. Forgive those who have neglected to do their jobs in excellence and who have placed the lives of others in jeopardy by cutting corners and taking shortcuts. Forgive those who have failed to show compassion while working with the loved ones of their patients.  Holy Spirit, remind our health professionals of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help our health professionals not to yield to temptation; but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Glory, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of the earth. Your right hand spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they all appear in order.  You alone can never die and You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No human eye has ever seen You, nor ever will. All honor and power is Yours forever, Lord!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
